Akibaranger 10th Episode Discussion
The Raw file is out, but I'll need to get the fansubs, as there are a lot of things on the story that need explanation. Anyway, the ending comes as a shock, as Hiroyo-chan's half-brother appears and Akagi has been recruited by the Pentagon!

That was yet another great episode. As always I am loving this show. And seeing Geki Blue come in as the new Akiba Red is just great. Can't wait to see how this Pentagon nonsense plays out next week :lol

It makes me sad that we only have 3 more episodes left. :(

Great episode. REALLY intrigued by the preview though.
I'm sensing a faction swap by Malshina coming up, given her new boss' disregard for her? (That said, I'm getting the feeling Dr. Z is just a horrible father period, looking at his treatment of both his real and imaginary daughters.) |
Totally shocked that the subs are out. When I saw it this morning I ignored it. Totally thought it was last weeks. It kept gnawing at me, and I checked, and, yes, this weeks ep.
It was good, but I thought they were trying to pack way too much into the episode. It almost seemed forced. I guess with such a limited series run, they have to. Now to wait for the next one. |

I loved how ridiculously old school the new guy is - I completely lost it when he pulled up with the trumpet on his back and started playing his own entrance theme. :lol Between this guy and Dr. Z Akibaranger is taking a very Showa-y turn in its last few episodes.
I'm guessing the guy is probably just Delu Knight in disguise and the show isn't really going all Sun Vulcan (the only Sentai to replace its red - for roughly the same reason, I think) on us. I'm sure the Pentagon call was just someone tricking the ream again. Also, I officially love Kozkoz now - she was just adorably funny in this episode. |

Why do I think all of the talk about Akagi going to the Pentagon, and Tsuzuki entering the picture is just a trap set up by Doctor Z?

Not sure if it's Malshina's scheme or not though (I did think it was at first). Don't see what benefit getting Akiba Red minus the transformation device is.
Plus, it looked like in the preview there were some suited Americans there - to me that indicates that there might actually be some truth to the whole "Pentagon" thing. I could see them wanting to use his ability to bring things out of the delusion universe for military applications. And it's looking like Malshina's falling out with Dr Z for that matter. Have to kinda wonder if she'll end up defecting for good, and we end the series with her and her "sister" making up or something. Another observation - when Malshina says they have 40 more bosses on the payroll, I chuckled... then it hit me the other day that 40 more would be enough for a 50 episode run, basically. So it's a double-layered joke that pokes fun/justifies the brevity of the series. |
Ep. 10 is great, and it's good that we finally get some backstory of Dr. Z. But I'm more excited with the preview of ep. 11, seeing both Maleena and Akiga on the run together after (apparently) leaving their respective organization. The story leading up to the finale will probably be unconventional to say the least.

Bravo, Akibaranger, bravo. Also, am I the only one who just loves Akagi's voice? Especially when he's screaming. It's glorious. |
