Excitement fills my bowels.

Live stream details added to first post!
|
Sweet! I finally caught the livestream!
And while I greatly enjoyed being able to focus on the action more, it really did just make me appreciate fansubs that much more. :lol I don't feel like a whole lot happened this episode, but the previews for next week have certainly gotten me excited. |
I have no idea what happened and I'll be grateful for the sub, but I have to say Baron has really grown on me.
Next week: Takatora shows Kouta what he showed Mi--(however you spell his nickname )! Will we see? I sort of hope they prolong the reveal. |
Tulip Hoppers are...weird vehicles. Can't say I really liked the cg on them. That said, I thought they were used MUCH better during round 2 with 'em.
I also now appreciate subs a whole lot more after watching the livestream for once. I also, have grown to appreciate the concept of time travel, because holy shit, next week seems like things are gonna kick into hi gear again. |
Hot damn the fights this episode! Loved it! And the Tuliphoopers quite literally kick ass.
|
I really did enjoy the fights. The Tuliphoppers weren't quite what I expected, but were indeed fun to watch. Especially in the second one.
Also during that fight - So Baron's Watermelon Arms has a different weapon than Gaim's? That was interesting and kind of cool. |

FINALLY Baron Suika arms <3 And more about DJ Sagara and Marika?! Can't wait for the subs!!!
|
There were some pretty interesting developments this week - though they're definitely saving the bomb of a revelation for next week. Hoping we actually find out what happened in Helheim rather than just another shot of a character reacting to something the viewer can't see.
Also, Toei's Gaim website has updated with official arc names for the episodes thus far 1~12 is the Beat Rider arc, 13~19 is the Yggdrasil arc, and episode 20 starts the Helheim arc. |

EDIT: Also did anyone notice...more human mouths on the rocks in the river stream? |
Baron Suika Arms was sweet! So I guess a Ryugen Suika Arms would have a giant gun and a Gridon Suika Arms would have a giant Hammer? :lol.
Loved the episode! Even if I got onto the livestream late :lol |

Can't wait for subs. D:
|
Just wanted to mention this: Gaku Sano said that he didhis stunts in the first scene himself and finally got to do the backflip henshin he always wanted to do. God, that guy is just amazing!
|
Is Zack in this episode? I need my Walnutty goodness.

I guess the fruit thing just isn't a novelty for me anymore. :/
I really, really liked Gaim and Baron teaming up. Kaito's such a stalwart guy, he doesn't usually help, so when he does it's pretty awesome. |
Aesir subs are out.
|
Just caught the subs. Freakin' amazing, that's what it is. And yet another cliffhanger ending. I shouted, "DAMN IT!" when the episode came to a close.
Really interested to see where this is going. They've done enough to fill 45 episodes of plot in a regular show, and it looks like there's still a lot more. The story is already finale-worthy. Quote:

Man, out of all the Energy Riders, it's always Sid that get knocked onto his ass.
Minato seems to have an agenda of her own, while Ryoma seems to be having a field day with Kaito and Kouta. DJ Sagara seems to be as enigmatic as always, though I'm really curious about what it means to be chosen by Helheim. As for the fight scenes, it seems Kouta and Kaito still have a ways to go to take down the Energy Riders, Duke owned both of them. He's so badass, he can block the Sonic Arrow with his hands and beat Kaito down so fast, his de-transformation could't keep up. Sigurd keeps on putting out the worst performance out of the Energy Riders, and Zangetsu-Shin is still an unstoppable badass. Also, cliffhanger. I hope we finally see what Micchy saw. |
Much better than last week's episode. Some really awesome fights and now I want the Tulip Hopper even more! Sukia Baron is cool and that ending!

Some pics were floating around on twitter from people who "locked" Dandeliner and Tulip Hopper into a giant cannon hours before the show aired yesterday. Pretty insightful actually. |
This is so sweet >_<

Kids in Japan are so lucky they have actors like Gaku Sano who cares about giving them a show they'll remember fondly. It's hard to believe we're at 19 already; time flew so fast with all the story they packed into Gaim.
Hopefully we will get some backstory on Helheim next week. This show is awesome! |

Baron really needs an upgrade soon. How did he evolve from a character I disliked to someone I'm actively rooting for now?

I like how Kouta has taken to putting on the orange and lemon lock seeds on at once to speed things up. Also the flip into henshin was pretty awesome. The fights in general were pretty awesome this episode though. The Duke suit's really grown on me, I dunno why I didn't like it as much as the others before.
I really wonder what Minato's trying to hide too. She seems pretty loyal to Sengoku, but who knows with her. It's like Sengoku said, everyone in Yggdrassil has a ulterior motive. Only Takatora seems to believe they're all in it for the greater good. Kaito's pretty cool as a secondary rider, he's still aloof and respects Kouta more than he gets along with him, but he's willing to work together and not act like a dickish loner all the time, which is great. The rematch between Gaim and Zangetsu was pretty fun. Finally Kouta and Takatora meet face to face and now Kouta's gonna find out what Micchy found out....next week. Damn. Glad things are kicking into high gear again. Also next week, we find out what the hell Sengoku's meeting with Kaito about. This show really would work as a series of movies because these cliffhangers are killing me...Also Tulip Hopper Rider Kick is pretty great. |

Meh.
I thought the episode started well, but then as the episode deteriorated into a poorly realised, and terribly animated toy commercial it kinda lost me. I'm really liking the Energy Riders, even if I'm so so on the suits, but I'm hating all these shitty looking lock vehicles, I thought this crap was for sentai. |
I voted good just because I didn't like the water fight scene. They looked like they were about to fall over. Much like last week's battle during the dance, that was an uncharacteristicaly poor fight. Hell, Shin Zangetsu even charged his arrow with no effects over it. Though considering how boring I find Jinba Lemon, I was pretty happy to see him briefly forced back to regular Orange arms. Baron Watermelon was cool, but brief. People complain that Sigurd has been the only energy rider to lose, but that's only because he gets momentarily over-powered and his enemies run away. He's never actually been beaten before.
Everything else is par the pretty good course, but I'm REALLY excited for next week. |
I must admit, I also find Jinba Lemon pretty boring.
I actually really like the energy riders as characters, but everyone using the same weapon is really dull, especially as they try hard to mix it up but that bow is just surprisingly lame when used as a melee weapon. It was really satisfying to see Duke put down the bow and fight with his hands to mix it up for a change, and I was happy Sid used his bow smartly to try and offset that everyone has exactly the same powers now. But I think the fight between Zangetsu and Gaim really highlighted just how boring it can be when everyone has the same powers. Especially when you compare it to how it was at the start when Zangetsu was wielding his shield like Captain America and Gaim was spinning around that pineapple flail. |
I voted good, only because parts of the episode didn't really have me excited, though I am EXTREMELY excited for next week, and hopefully we can see what Micchy and Takatora saw.
I loved the Tulip Hopper and really makes me want it in Figuarts. Seeing Duke was really cool. Though Shin Zangetsu, I don't know I just want to see more of Zangetsu again but I know that won't happen. |

One of the reasons I like Orange arms so much is it's two different swords is really unique, and the ability to link them and fire the one like a gun keeps thingg awesome. The bow is just a bow, than can be swung like a sword. It's not the same. |
