Mammoth Ranger! Goushi!

Today we're taking a look at S.H. Figuarts Mammoth Ranger from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger! Mammoth Ranger was recently released as Tamashii Web Exclusive, as such it features the newer windowless box style. Otherwise the packaging is pretty nice but you're here for the figure!

Mammoth Ranger is of course the same basic body as the other Zyurangers with a head remold. Something about the black on white color scheme makes Goushi look a lot more polished than the 4 previous releases. The black paint applications aren't quite perfect but the figure still looks great. Definitely a great representation for Zyuranger and MMPR fans.

The first thing you'll notice is Mammoth Ranger includes a ton of accessories, half of which aren't his! He comes with extra versions of Tyranno Ranger's Ryugekiken and Tricera Ranger's Tricera Lances. Both of these accessories are remolds of those included with the rangers themselves, these remolded versions are capable of combining to form the Howling Cannon! Though all of the components have not been released yet. The upcoming Tiger Ranger will include the appropriate Mammoth Breaker to form the cannon.

On that topic the Mammoth Breaker included with Mammoth Ranger cannot transform from axe to gun form. The included Breaker is molded only as the axe. So even though I've pictured the axe being held like the gun, it's not actually accurate. The proper axe comes with Tiger Ranger. Also included with Mammoth is the pre-requisite Ranger Stick and the combined Thunder Slinger as well several extra sets of hands.

I also thought it would be cool to have some fun with this one. A while back I cut up a Bouken Red Accel Tector vinyl so I could make ztector armor for SHF Bouken Red. Turns out it makes for a pretty good Once A Ranger Defender Vest Black Ranger too ;)

Beautiful gallery! I really had no intention of getting the Zyurangers outside the Akibaranger-related ones, but seeing the pictures really make me start to question that decision.

Whoever was in charge of the packaging definitely needs to be sacked making Mammoth Ranger look different from all the other Zyuranger packages.

Ever since I got my Gekiranger and Korean Goseiger toys, I've had a hard time throwing away even a card back for a Beast Hunters toy! :lol

Oh I still have all the trays, it'd be stupid to get rid of them, but the outer cardboard is superfluous packaging. I just store the trays away.

Also gorgeous shot, now I feel like I need to complete the MMPR team for the sake of my inner child!

Those Saint Seiya stages do look good with the team, if I had more shelf room I would try them out, but I have to cut back on posing as it is :lol

I'm telling you man. Cloth Myth stages are THE superior tamashii stage. Absolutely perfect.

At $20 apiece they must be. Ill see if there are any next weekend, I find one, I buy it on the spot and see if youre right, sound good? :lol

EDIT- Wait, does it come with three bases like other stages? Or just one base?

3 bases, 3 each of 2 different arm size, bunch of claw/hands, 6 foot effect parts, 3 hand parts. It's the all in one set.

Okay now I can justify the $20 price anywhere. Definitely picking a set up if I find it next week!

It seriously is. I think so far he's turned out the best of all the Zyurangers.

Those old bikes work surprisingly well. They aren't quite to scale, but they're close enough to fudge it a bit.

And I knew those had to be the Seiya stages. Saw the big stage in Image Anime last I was in there. Man, I'm tempted to get that thing. Might get it when I come back from my trip.

If you can find the right vintage vehicles for sentai/rangers or riders even, they work out perfectly. The vintage Dairanger Kaiber Machines/MMPR thunder Bikes are a perfect fit as well.
I can't say it enough times, I wish all tamashii stages were just cloth myth ones. They're totally perfectly for 6" scale figures like this.

nce Figure i got my Adam/zach PRe-ordered on Amazon.com though living UK im happy i can import these guys from the USA. but thoes Stages i need to pick up 2 so i can pose the team with the Power Blaster

Dang it. You are making me want the Mighty Morphin figuarts more and more now.

I'll say this is a sweet release. Just got mine, and I'm very pleased. Although, this shouldn't be a surprise to most as he is a standard mold painted black, but as others have pointed out, they could painted his Mammoth insignia on the Axe. I'm assuming they'll exclude it on the Blaster version coming with Yellow, the least they could've done is detailed all the main weapons with their insignias like Red, Green, and White.

Anyway, whether you get this or the Japanese release, you can't go wrong. In fact, Zack's right here on my nightstand. (Yeah, I said "Zack". None of this Goushi/Adam crap.)
