God DAMN Kyouruger's henshin is fucking stupid. Everyone's so serious while their gun make ridiculous noises, and then they do a stupid dance totally straight-faced to ludicrous music.

The other music is also kind of weird. I'm so conditioned to Power Rangers playing cool music over the morphing sequences.

It's no different than looking badass while a fruit drops on your head. Anyways, that was awesome and long at the same time. So the reds for Zyu and Aba henshin and the rest of the team appears?

Pretty much. They didn't want to pay to actually have all the other actors on screen. But they all did their own ADR work.

Probably. Saban will take any chance they get to cash in on MMPR.

Anyway, I thought it was cool, though the lack of DragonRanger, AbareBlack, and AbareKiller bothered me.

Well, Dragon Ranger and Abarekiller are kinda dead, so their absence is understandable. Though it would be pretty neat if they showed up later in the fight as Ramirez/Tessai style spirits.

They totally should have had Abareblack though.

AbareKiller already came back once for their team up movie with DekaRanger.

True that the dead have returned previously. In Burai's case though his actor is completely retired so using his death as an excuse works a bit better.

The logic probably worked like this. If they were going to leave Burai out because ofhis actor's retirment, then the in universe circumstance of his death could be applied too, so they may as well leave Mikoto (Killer) out too. And rather than only have 4 Abarangers out of 5, why not just stick to the core 3 and let viewers assume Asuka (Black) is still on Dino Earth?

I also suspect that hiring on so many suit actors and not to mention the returning cast from Gobusters probably ate up a lot of the movie's budget.

That was pretty cool. I like how the Zyurangers whip out their dino bucklers rather than just put their hands behind their backs and not explain where they go.

I'm curious if Dino Charge will use this, though, since it's footage from a movie.
Also, if they do use it, if we'd be able to get Jason and Connor back.

Because the music sounds like something from Spongebob. It's bafflingly riduclous, and the dancing is so lame and juvinile.

At least with the fruit it's done in a way that's not ridiculous unless it wants to be. The fruit is basically folded armour, and they've done awesome variations of the transformation during serious moments, like the most recent episode. They'll cut out the standby music if it's inappropriate, and make the transformation quicker or more dynamic to fit the mood.

Those samba-dancing nerds look absurd no matter how you dress it. To even say the two are comparable is nonsense.

Hell, remove the samba dance transformation and you literally remove everything that could possibly be called a "Samba theme" in Kyoryuger :lol

What I'm getting from this is that Kyouryuger's transformation sequence is dumb because it's silly...from a series that never tried to be serious in the first place and was mostly colorful and fun.

While Gaim, which has giant fruit falling on people's heads to transform, gets a pass because it takes itself more seriously.

Yes, both shows aren't comparable, but that's because they both have completely different visions and tones. They ARE comparable for having transformation sequences that on the outside are fairly silly-looking. Trying to argue that by saying one takes itself seriously while the other doesn't makes no sense.

Completely with you on this. It totally killed the scene, especially when they're obviously trying to play it up as a big dramatic moment.

Man, Zyuranger's change is so fast and clean.
I know transformation is typically a free action, and I hate being "That guy" who spouts how the older series are better, but Kyoryu's dance is pushing things if I have to believe the enemies are literally just standing there staring for 2 minutes.

Except for, you know, when it just now tried to be serious?

Also, you don't need to be UTTER GRIMDARK DEATH AND HORROR to have cool badass moments. If the heroes are never allowed to do a heroic henshin, then it's hard to ever find them cool.

The Zyurangers noticeably have Legacy Morphers with show-accurate labels, rather then re-using the props from Zyuranger. I wouldn't be suprised if Bandai's Proplica line starts importing the Legacy Morphers somewhere down the line, which I'd be down for considering I regret not buying two Morphers in the first place.

That'd also explain why the creators of the Legacy Morpher made the effort of creating a Zyuranger accurate back which was never, ever seen in MMPR, right down to the big "Z" for Zyuranger.

Its just Samba music for the core 5 and Kabuki music for Gold, really, there's nothing "Spongebob" about it, although that's a pretty silly insult anyway imo. There is a reason behind the dancing in-story so to cut it out would make less sense then having it in.

I have to agree that folded armor in the form of a giant fruit falling on someone's head to transform is no less ridiculous or juvenile then heroes who obtain their power from synchronising with the music of the earth dancing to transform. I don't think either are bad though.

Eh, multiple times Kyroyuger found ways to incorporate the dancing into fights, so it wasn't like they actually were "never allowed to do a heroic henshin". The action scenes of Kyoryuger also made use of excellent choreography and flashy special effects to make them "cool". Despite its many flaws when it came to story-telling and its hit-or-miss humour at times, its pretty much unanimously agreed that Kyoryuger had excellent action.
