Lemon Energy Arms Baron - a Detailed Look
http://news.tokunation.com/2014/04/1...er-baron-16910
Check out Lemon Energy Baron! Thanks to Fruit Rider News blog. |
Oh thank God, I was worried.
Looks pretty sweet for what honetsly seems like an unintended kitbash. |
Oh my goodness this looks amazing. If this gets a Figuarts release I may just have to buy it.
And Split, that was an interesting first draft. |

Whatever, I'm just glad I can see. I'll never squeeze lemons in my eyes to prove how tough I am ever again. I'm going to cherish the time I have left. |
He looks better with Lemon than Duke does.
|
He looks quite nice. Even if he was literally just an afterthought.
|
I love how every detail on the lemon helmet abruptly stops where it would've continued on the Duke helmet.
Duke appeared once and we never saw him Henshin, what bullshit. |

Anyways, I think Lemon Arms look a bit better on Duke, personal preference I guess. |

Yeah, that is bullshit, its sad that we've seen Pine Arms more times then a god damn Kamen Rider. Baron in Lemon Energy arms looks excellent aside from the shape of the lemon head piece obviously meant for Duke's head. |
That is GLORIOUS. I love the cape details and the helmet is perfect. This, this is what Baron was meant to be more than Mango.
|
I really cant get excited for this one. Its Lemon Arms on Baron, nothing special, just new arms set. :lol
|
Still kinda felt like they could've made him a Banana Energy Lock seed. I like this though, but at the same time something feels off for being Baron.

I think the Energy Riders are dull and Kaito sucks but to give credit where credit is due the Lemon Energy Arms goes well with his suit design and colour scheme, he looks pretty good.

Designwise they all just look, and feel, like they were trying too hard with clustered, busy and the kind of "quirky" that students use as a descriptor for their tweed jacket designs. Meteor proved that symmetry isn't necessary for a great suit, but I always find the more simple a Rider design the better it comes off. The Energy Riders feel like a raid to the prop department, and ten minutes with some selotape. There is just so much ugly all at once it just all clashes. |
Can't deny the suit/Arms go well together, but I'm still finding it hard to get excited about.
|
All i can say is lemon nipple shoulders.
I will never be able to unsee that |
This thing looks glorious in full display. But what's really surprising is that an upgrade form for baron was never planned. The production team had to bash this one together based on the characters overwhelming popularity.
The reason Gaim has so many forms is because the other riders were never originally supposed to. But the very positive fan reaction and overwhelming toy sales warranted it's creation. The helmet is a one-off bash of a spare Baron and Duke helmet that had to be custom built. The Energy Rider armor pieces weren't made modular like the Armored Riders were so they aren't built to swap at a production level. |

Looks good. The fact that Baron wasn't meant to get an energy seed upgrade makes this suit make a lot more sense. Cherry might have worked too, but sticking with yellow arms armour was a good idea.
I'm kinda confused by the people who seem to think Duke is already done. He's the only energy rider other than Shin Zangestu getting a retail AC. His only fight scene so far involves him wiping the floor with Jinba Lemon Gaim and Baron without even trying. I'm pretty sure he's going to transform again and demolish Kachidoki when he fights for real, possibly neccesitating Kiwami. |

Looking at it more, I think that the suit works aside from the cape. The Cape just makes the whole thing look really weird. I know Mango has a cape but I think they should have stuck to just the lemon armor for Baron.

The Energy Rider suits are not segmented in this way. The Arms are fixed permanently to the suits used for filming. They have base body suits used for the henshin sequences but the main suits are all permanently with those specific arms. So they didn't have Lemon Energy Arms components floating around in the same way they did for say Pine, Banana, etc. They had to custom make new parts for Baron Lemon Energy. |

Duke has transformed in the introduction of the New Generation Riders, but off-screen. Duke has detransformed once after the fight with Gaim and Baron. |

Each torso piece has a rigid wrap-around piece the armour parts sit on. For Gaim, this means Orange, Pine and Strawberry each have a blue piece, and Banana and Mango have silver. (to match the undersuits) This is why Gaim magically has a silver upper torso when he switched to banana that one time. Also, Gaim's frilly gold shoulder scallops are supposed to be part of his undersuit, but are really attached to the orange/pine/whatever armour. This is why in the intro the orange armour sitting their has those sallops, even though they're not part of the arms. |
