ToQger Episode 9 "Love Is A One-Way Ticket" Discussion
Diesel Ressha has returned! A familiar actor returns to the franchise this week! But is he in love with Mio? Diesel Oh roars into the station! And what is Baron Nero scheming? As always for any users who'd like to view this episode via live stream on Saturday feel free to head over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts, generally marathons. Live Streams are at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Ugh. My usual stream site seems to be down and I can't use the Taima site because the page title trips some watchdog program here at work. I guess I'll have to wait for the subs this week.

is it me or is it mio's hair shorter?

It seems to be about the same length.

Well the subs are finally out so I can join in. Love, love, love this episode! Never expected to really like it that much, but was entertained from start to end.
Best thing was seeing so much of Mio, and seeing different sides to her personality. The way she handled her crush over the guy was hilarious! :lol However, best line of the episode: "I think protecting others is more my style." And that is why I just love our current Yellow Ranger! |

The episode was really well put together, both for the timing, plot. Even the MOTW was really well done. And it makes me think if this was translated to Sabanese it would be really hard to screw up. Well, aside from removing the Japanese references. So now we know. When the Ressha's combine, buckle yo belts. http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1398364983 |
Gotta say I really enjoyed the Episode.
I liked that we got to see someone like Mio experiencing something like love for the first time and not knowing how to deal with that. Not being the responisble one for a change and having someone else protect you. Yet in the end she chose that this wasnt what she wanted in life. She likes being proactive and being that one that protects and not being the one that needs protection. The other ToQGer were also great in that regard. They all know they arent the most reliable bunch but at the same time that doesnt mean they cant take responsibility from time to time. Mio doesnt have to shoulder everything herself and thats why they are a team. |
0_0 GekiChopper is here? I really did not see that coming but I'm enjoying every second of this episode as I speak!
|
What? That's GekiChopper?!? Goodness I didn't recognize him!
|
Man, this one took a while.

"Girls have cooties!"
"OMG I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU" I like episodes that play with an audiences understanding of the characters, but I dunno, I'd rather it was done in a meaningful way than just a sort of comedy one. Although it was pretty funny in places. This weeks Shadow was decently designed but if all you have to do is make them cry to take over the line, was the brutality of the first bunch of Shadows really necessary for the plot or the audience? Although Diesel-Oh looked awful in static scans, in motion it actually doesn't look bad at all. I dunno, the craptastic boxiness translates onto the screen well. It's meant to be a big, bulky, heavy robot and I got a sense of weight and presence from it more so than pretty much all the other mecha which to me ironically look much more like a man in a cardboard box despite not being nearly as boxy in design. |
Um...Tokatti dies at Sunset! What? Whaaaaat? Obviously I know it probably won't happen, but still.

Good episode. I'm normally not into love episodes but this one was good. I haven't watched gekiranger so I didn't know that the love interest was someone who starred in it. I have a suspicion that the kid in next week's episode will be the Toq6

I think Diesel-Oh in action looks kiiinda dumb. Mainly the legs, when he was doing those kicks and running around it looked like Car Carrier was gonna rip in half.

Although the running was admittedly pretty lame, I enjoyed everything else mechwise. Much more than all the other shitty mech fights in this show so far.
|
I really love how much personality Diesel-Oh has thanks to Rights relationship with Diesel Ressha.
|
Not the best episode so far, although I did like the Mio focus. They really just dropped the storyline with GekiChopper, though. I was expecting some knd of final moment there.
|
Wooh! Diesel-Oh! The boxyness works. Just makes it look tough. But I'm surprised everyone's forgot about the Shield Ressha. Is it just parked in some siding somewhere?

You'd think Baron von Nose would stick with misdirection after it worked so well the last episode. Instead he went with Puppet Master and ended up deader than Andre Toulon (And one of you will appreciate that reference). The best part of this episode, outside of Diesel-Oh's amazingness, was the whole Mio love story. Her reactions to everything were hillarious.
Now they just need an episode where someone falls for Wagon. Oop, to late! Bwahaha. |
