Sentai that you hate but everyone else loves or vice versa
 

Title says it all

One series that I hate but everyone else loves is Magiranger. The characters aren't interesting. Pink ranger is extremely annoying and the series itself is just slow paced.

Vice versa one series that I love but everyone else seems to hate is Go-busters. It's a great series with some very dark elements. I also love Enter and Escape.

I'm with you on Go-buster, but I must admit it's not my favourite.

Goseiger is my favourite sentai and although there are more people that like it on here than those who don't, in terms of the general fandom Goseiger is not all that popular.

I absolutely hate Dairanger, it's the very worst sentai series I have seen and although not so much on this forum, it seems much beloved in the general fandom.

Also I liked Go-Busters, it was a mess but the core dynamic with the team was fantastic and made the show a more than worthwhile watch.

I love Go-Busters. It tried something new, even if it was different.

Ultimately that is the main reason Go-Busters should be appreciated, even if you don't like it. In a series where for thirty four seasons they basically redressed the same show over and over again, a show like Go-Busters which reworks the formula from the ground up should be celebrated.

Gokaiger and Kyoryuger.
Both of them sucked hard, in my opinion, but they seem to be the crown jewels, the measuring stick for what a "Good Sentai" is considered to be in this fandom, so *Shrugs*

I think thankfully Kyoryuger had a lot of revisionism by the time it ended. But yeah for the first twenty or so episodes the fandom was eating shit out of it's hands and screaming *lalala* over the top of the flaws. And I kinda get it, the show had a lot of potential and that can make you want to like a show a lot more than you actually do and it's frustrating. That happened to me with Dragon Knight.

Kyoryuger and Zyuranger for sure. Although with Zyu it's less I hate it and more think it's just incredibly overrated. Sun Vulcan too because apparently that's popular even though it's mostly awful.

As for the reverse? Count me in with the Go-Busters love.

I am going to say it now: I despise Gokaiger. I'll be leaving now *runs from the angry mob*

After finally actually watching Gokaiger I can confirm my previous statement that this is certainly not an entry level series.

But there is something weirdly entertaining about it, even though it isn't actually all that great. The chemistry between the core team is nice, the gimmick is also good but I just wish the enemies put up more of a fight, the show didn't relax into a formula so quickly and that it was generally better written...

Haven't seen enough Sentai to name any that I hate (only seen Gokaiger and Go-Busters so far), but I will say this- despite the a lot of people around here are coming out in support of Go-Busters (myself among them), I still don't see why the hate for the series.

Or even where it's supposedly coming from, pathetic toy sales aside.

Um I love Battle Fever J I don't know how that is felt about. I also don't care for Dairanger. I love the characters of it but the story sucks.

I'll do the vice versa part. I loved Go-onger to bits even though it wasn't really liked in most fandoms. And ToQger seems to have a cold reception and I'm in love with that one too.

Really? ToQger has a cold reception by most fans? Eh it might have to do with the mech stuff perhaps. Regardless, I love it too.

Gingaman. It is a very unappreciated show. Yeah, it doesn't have the greatest designs, but the story is well told and the different Balban armies is great.

Mine's lukewarm.

Villains: AWESOMETASTIC design.
Theme song: It sounds like 3 songs, not one.

I enjoy Gaoranger. It had a cool storyline and the Silver Ranger arc was great. It been a while since I seen it, but I won't mind watching it again. Despite it's strong ratings and toy sales, Japanese fans had very mixed feelings for it.

I don't get Kyoryuger.

And I feel Go-Busters is sadly underrated.

Okay, seriously, if Go-Busters is so hated, then why do so many people seem to enjoy it? Is is just something on Toei's end?

Sorry guys... I am not a fan of Go-Busters. I really wanted to like it but it just bores me.

I only liked Kyoryuger for Candi and Yayoi. Everything else I didn't care for as it was just too childish for me. The some goes for ToQger. I like Riria's character, but just one character isn't enough to keep me watching a show like Sentai.

Love Go Busters.

I hated Kyoryuger, loved Diaranger.

I don't really have a Sentai yet that I noticed everybody seemed to dislike that I liked. I do have a few non Sentai characters like that though :lol

I haven't "hated" any Sentai, but there are some I wasn't ecstatic about that others are. I really was not impressed by Dairanger, but it seems pretty celebrated elsewhere. Zyuranger was also a little tedious to get through, although my partner loved it and it seems pretty loved by the fandom. Finally, Magiranger was average at best for me but seems incredibly loved.

I love Gokaiger, but who on earth uses Kyoryuger as the measuring stick for "Good Sentai"? General consensus seems to be that it was fun but had a lot of problems outside of its action. I've seen far more negative about it then positive that's actually backed up by facts.

I thought Magiranger was fairly dull. I heard it gets better, but when I dropped the show before the 10th episode mark, yeah it isn't grabbing me. It was a shame though as I was enjoying some of the characters.

Zyuranger to me is an alright show that gets boring when it isn't focusing on the story.

I guess it was that those who like and defend Kyoryu are more vocal, so it seemed like it's one of those "Beloved" series.

I've never been a big fan of Boukenger or Gokaiger. These are two shows that fans seem to love but that I could never get into. I guess a lot of it stems from the characters. I'm not very fond of (almost) an entire cast of cool laid back characters. It makes a show boring to me when these guys take on challenges that don't really phase them at all. This is sorta why the parts I enjoyed from Gokaiger were the flashback episodes and anything deal with Marvelous's past.

In all honesty, as much as I dislike Go-Buster and pick on it, I can see why people would like it. It's not that it is a bad show by any means. It's more that the Buddyroids are absolutely useless and the show is just so boring to me.

The buddyroids were central to the series though?

Nah, the series could have done without Usada and Gorisaki and nothing would have changed.

I don't think I 'hate' a certain Sentai series, more or less feel less entertained with or just couldn't get through it due to the cast or gimmick.

I guess out of all the ones I've seen, I dislike Go- Busters the most. I respect that it mixed up the formula Sentai re-hashes each year but I couldn't get past past the shitty main cast except Silver and Gold.

Go-Onger comes in as a close second, the talking cars and the cast didn't do it for me, suits are kinda neat, but story-wise, I think I preferred RPM and I don't enjoy Power Rangers all that much.

Not sure about hearing people liking either of those two. I guess I see the most the Go-Buster love on here, but it's cool though! Different strokes for different folks! (<-----not innuendo, fo' reals)

Tensou Sentai Goseiger. And, like the thread proved, a lot of the people who hate it? Never watched a single episode of it.

I don't think Dairanger was hated at all. A lot of older fans love it and grown to like it over the years. It was popular with younger kids at the time when it was airing in Japan.

I notice some people didn't like Zyuranger. The kids in the show never bother me and I found the show to much enjoyable then MMPR S1. I love all of the characters in Zyuranger, the storyline was awesome and I felt like the villains were well done.
