ToQGer Episode 11 "The Emperor of Darkness" Discussion!
Gritta's fiancee has arrived! But who's the guy with the balloons?
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams are at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
The emperor seems like an interesting guy. I wonder what he's really trying to do...
|
Man, we might get an Enter level villain again. Im really intrigued by the current setup. Ill have to wait for subs before I say more. It dose look like its taking the go Buster route and beginning to become serious now that the base exposition is out of the way.

Ce va? No. Sadly, maddeningly, depressingly, no. No one can compare to the genius villain of Enter's caliber. He was TOO good. But I agree, this new Emperor rocks all sorts of new twists on the show. |
Hey Zed, what's your favorite movie?
"The shining." Grita is cool. ZedXHisBalloon new otp. |
So if the Emperor has a monster form I want it to be a black repaint of Lord Zedd and I want his finisher to be Shining Finger.
PS Baron Nero is a badass. He has a top hat, cane, and a pocketful of death. :p |
Emperor turned out to be extremely intriguing! Definitely the most interesting villain on the show so far, and that was very unexpected!

Diesel-Oh is fast becoming one of my all time favourite robos in this franchise.
Hats, Canes and Umbrellas, the Shadow Line fight in such a gentlemanly way. It was really nice to see all of the Generals of the season got involved nice and early, they were awesome. And oh man that scene with the Emperor's eyes, I just pooped my pants. There was a lot of action this episode, but not really a lot else. Not that that is really a bad thing but it doesn't leave me much to talk about. I had fun, I'll give it a 'good'. It doesn't quite deserve an 'excellent'. |
I love Zed :lol The fact that he loves everything bright and colorful and actually got tired of the darkness is so awesome.
|
Well, this was a nice episode and I really liked it. Though the mecha fight to me was a bot boring.
|
Zed doesn't come across as "Evil" to me, but more as some one born in the dark (as he said) just curious about the world of light and his motives will come from experimenting with all that is shining. I would like to see when he is done learning and what will he do about the light, will he try to get rid of it or will he try to become it at all costs. Zed also seems to have a deep darkness that Right and Grimuss seem only to see, but I don't think it is evil quite yet, just darkness

Shinning, Eh?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yGJGTjV2WE On a more serious note, the villains sure have awesome attacks. Who knew an umbrella would make such an effect weapon? Penguin was seriously onto something. |
wow this episode made me like this show even more
|
Great Episode. The emperor seems like an interesting character. Also the twist at the end where all the toqgers expect Right can't see the train. I know it will probably be resolved next episode but it was unexpected.
|
Barone Nero is just the coolest looking villain ever. PLEASE PLEASE make Figuarts or even statues of these beautiful designs Bandai.
The Emperor certainly is an interesting character. Can't really pin him down which bodes well for future episodes. |
I loved how this episode Noir and Nero were trying to out fanboy each other at the end and lamp shadow just came in and stole their thunder. The villians designs in this are fantastic. I prefer this dark classy look of the shadows over the deboss designs in Kyoryuger. It also seems the emporer may know what happened to the ToQger though he probably had no part in it.
|
Ah, the past few episodes have been fun, but I really like the development of the plot coming in. We get some more details on the hierarchy of Shadow Line. I'm surprised that Nero and Noir seem to be ranked above Schwartz, but I guess it makes sense given that they're aristocrats and he's just the general. Come to think of it they did sorta boss him around in earlier episodes, but he didn't seem to pay them any mind.
The Emperor....is interesting. Seems likely that he's heavily connected to the Toqger's backgrounds. Maybe. He doesn't seem like a definite bad guy right now at any rate. |

Zett being fond of light despite being the Emperor of Darkness does bring up some interesting story ideas. I don't think he'll be Enter level but if the writers play their cards right Zett will be a good shot in the arm for Super Sentai bad guys. |
Calling it now—Zed will becomme ToQ #6.

I'm just gonna leave this here since it was mentioned for funsies.
http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1399644115 Also, I have to admit, I originally wasn't on the Wagon with the designs for the Shadow Line. But after seeing this episode... http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1399644115 http://www.tokunation.com/attachment...1&d=1399644115 I totally get it. It's like the designers went total steampunk kaiju with the costumes. And the fact that they're this detailed, and this amazingly awesome....words cannot describe. There should be an award for designs this good. |

Okay, finally caught up on the last two episodes. This one was fun; Zed looks very interesting and I really don't feel like I have a clear read on him. I definitely want to see where this is goig.

1.It'll be someone related to Zed that was "swallowed by the darkness" and is trying to save him from the same fate 2.It'll be Zed himself because he wants to experience shiny things, aka imagination or 3.It'll be Schwartz. My theory behind Schwartz is that he knows Miss Greeta likes him, even though he hasn't shown it. I think the Emperor will kill Greeta for betraying them and he'll fight off the darkness and become human and ToQ6. I also just remembered he was very fascinated by the ToQger's trains. Maybe he used to be a member of the Rainbow Line. I put those in order to what I think will most likely happen, but I will say one thing about this episode. Diesel-Oh is amazing and my favorite villain has to be Nero. Just how he fights with such confidence and swagger, and of course his Kiva top hat. |
Hahaha, Zed. Meanwhile, in other, less punny, news, the generals are badassess. Schwartz is still my favourite, but Nero's black hole cannon thing was cool. Also, I think he must have seen Goldfinger.
Also, small thing that bugs me. Shield Ressha? With no summoning or announcement? That annoys me. (Even if I'm happy it showed up.) And they can't see the Resshas? Oh no, that's bad (Despite the fact it will end up cleared up next episode) |
I love Baron Nero's fighting style. A proper gentleman with every blow :lol. Figuarts Baron Nero when.
|
Are we really only at episode 11 with this? This episode felt more like it should be in the high twenties atleast. Just strange that they introduce the Darkness Emperor this early in a series. Unless they plan on replacing him with something worse later on, maybe?
The episode was good if not a little confusing with them talking about shining and never showing the damn shining. But atleast next episode finally has Diesel and ToQ-Oh combining into WTF-Oh. |
