Goranger Subbed Episode News and Discussion
 

We're starting this thread to provide news and updates on the Goranger subbing project. We'll post news of each episode release here to keep you all updated without cluttering up the "where to find your fansubs" thread.

We also encourage comments, discussion, etc. We hope that this will be a good meeting place for fellow Goranger fans to meet and enjoy this series together.

Please let me know how the DDL server is doing and if it is giving you any problems. I have had one report of someone not being able to access the site on certain browsers and computers.

If it is too much of a hassle to download them from there, I can switch to a better host that won't be so much of an issue.

While I haven't gotten the opportunity to watch, I haven't encountered much issue in downloading the episodes, thankfully.

I tried downloading it once and it disappeared from my computer :lol

But the second download was successful.

I have raws if you need them...I can post them thru MEGA...let me know

We have all of the raws for Goranger, JAKQ and Battle Fever J, but thanks for your offer. It is greatly appreciated.

Just got done with the first episode and wow was it deliciously campy and fun. I'd seen a raw of episode 1 years ago but never saw it subbed. Really enjoyed it.

We rearranged the blog a little bit to accommodate different categories. You will still see the latest posts on the home page, but you can now click the categories on the top bar to see just news and info or just Goranger episodes. We will add a JAKQ section next and then go from there.

Do you guys have a Twitter account? I couldn't find one, but it's a great way to be able to spread the word out en masse, so to speak.

We do not have a Twitter account but plan on creating one soon. We've just begun this process and it is still new to us, so the first priority is to make sure things are getting done smoothly and according to schedule.

I think I'm missing something about your episode 1 mkv. Even with subtitles turned on I'm only getting the raw. Now, you did mention the need to update 1, since you started with episode 2. Is this one of the issues?

I'm sorry you are having issues. I just downloaded the file from the link and it works just fine. Subtitles came right on by default. Maybe it is the settings you are using or your player, or something else.

By re-doing Episode 1, we meant that we were going to do our own subs of that episode apart from what is already available online in various places.

There have been no reported issues on any of the files or anything. They have been triple checked before they were uploaded and posted to make as sure as possible that there won't be any problems with anything.

Fair enough. I'll see what I can do about it on my end then. Thanks for the speedy reply.

EDIT: What file format are your subtitles in before being associated with the mkv?

Not part of the group, but I threw it into mkvmerge just to check and it says S_TEXT instead of the usual SSA. I don't think that would make much of a difference though.

It doesn't make much of a difference at all, really, although some players may not interpret them correctly. VLC does just fine, though, and we recommend it for playing these files.
