Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fated Movie War Feud Movie Discussion
Over-Time suddenly had subs of Gaim VS Wizard up tonight. Discussion time!
|
and now I need to hurry up and finish Wizard. :lol
|
Given what's happened it's past few episodes, the Gaim half of this movie is hilarious.

So the movie was ok... It felt a bit dragged.
Very dissapointed we didn't see Wizard Arms in any form of action. The main points I liked was the humor, Ryu and Akkio scene, Takatora about to do Space Time, Mix'd up with Haruto and Gaim as Wizard. Though... I don't know when the movie takes place, because Takatora isn't shocked when he see's Micchy nor does he even recognize him, plus Micchy still calls him the "White rider". Also... OOO's still doesn't have one liner :lol |

Man, it's so nostalgic to see Micchy before he went insane. And Hase when he was still alive.
Also fun to see original Zangetsu kicking some ass. |

This was also during the time where he had his absurd notion of not giving a crap about the Sengoku Driver User. This is evident when he beat the hell out of Kouta (Ep 3) and Mitchy (11), until he destroyed Hase's driver and was like Shiet, Guinea pig down. |

Also he can clearly see everyone. http://oi59.tinypic.com/rcij53.jpg |

I love how Haruto tells Kouta "Fight to Protect" only to have that crushed by Zangetsu later and Kouta being ridiculed by DJ Sagara. |

I think Takatora had more of a slap to the face when he saw Mitchy as Ryugen when they infiltrated and was probably like "He was the guy in the awful clothing?". I'm pretty sure he wasn't really paying attention to the face, I know most friends who don't pay attention to people's face, especially if you have awful designs such as black and white chess layout on your blue sweatshirt with what I assume is pink/red pants. A mash of colors is not pleasing to the eye at all, he probably glanced and focused back to the task at hand. Also I think Takatora never wanted to involve Mitchy. So when he did find out, he took his wrath on Sid for making him a lab rat. Like Takatora was fine with anyone being the lab rat, except his only brother. |

Good movie

Best part was seeing Kengo again.

But that scene with Akiko though. :lol
|
I enjoyed Kengo, Akiko, and Ryu again, however briefly. But, I have to admit, I was hoping for more Date. All in all, not a bad flick and, like a sucker, I'll be happy with any excuse to see the Wizard characters again.

Aaaaah, the Beat Riders portion of Gaim…where the only thing they had to worry about was a flamboyant French baker. This was an okay movie that got really good towards the end.
I think my one complaint is that this really should've been a All Riders type of movie. Wizard's part had nothing to do with Gaim's or even the finale and it just felt like Wizard was there for the sake of being there. The film did give me a few laughs, loved the part where Nitou confused Kouta for Haruto, and Haruto's comment about the Riders not being edible yet they're wearing fruit armour. A shame Wizard Arms didn't get to do anything though, kinda feels like they forgot he was wearing it. |

It's weird how chimera is able to eat the fruit of helheim.

Just got done with the movie and really enjoyed it. Some thoughts:
- The Wizard portion felt decently in line with the series if a bit rushed. I've always loved Wizard and was really happy to see Haruto again. I felt this epilogue to the series was a proper one. Specifically with the way in which Koyomi's ring finally found a place to rest in his Underworld. - Seeing the early version of Gaim again is mind blowing :lol A living Hase is not the strangest part of things either looking back. Mostly it's Micchy not being a horrible backstabbing ass. Takatora being his mysterious badass self is jarring based on how open he's been recently. And seeing Kouta more or less revel in his ridery-ness again is odd. In contrast to where the show is now it's crazy to see where the characters were. - As usual the whole Alt. riders thing was weird and didn't quite work, at least in my opinion. But the basic concept allowed the story to progress. Though I wonder now, the rider locks, I wonder if they could appear in show again later? Movie exclusive forms and power ups appear in shows nearly every year now. All Dragon, Cosmic, Deathryuger, Fs-0O Frog, etc. Let's see those rider locks again. On top of that, Micchy is the one last seen holding the Blood Orange Lockseed. I wonder if that holds meaning..... |

Like I said: feels like the writers forgot he had the thing on. |

Which reminds me, why didn't Kouta just use that against the Scalar Weapons? |

Plus Fifteen is gonna use Wizard arms. |
This was...impressively boring. I dunno whether things are tight over there at Toei but wow this looked really bad. Especially in Wizard's case his action looked worse than what was found in the respective TV series. Gaim's portion was certainly better - "that is as much as I'll humour that." - but the onslaught of explosions that carried right through into the crossover portion, without a single moment of story to break it up burnt me out fast. By the end I was actually nodding off, I don't think a film has ever sent me to sleep before under normal circumstances.
Wizard's portion still deserves a nod for being an emotional epilogue to the series, it doesn't really add anything to the mess of an ending but it does give some nice closure for the cast, which for us three fans of Wizard was really nice. Perhaps the biggest frustration for the movie with me though is all the wasted potential. The Feuding States Battle Royal concept sounds like one of the many delicious ideas dreamed up by the Decade production team. But just like Decade, rather than exploring the concept in any meaningful way, we just establish the premise and then fill the rest of the screentime with explosions. It's especially disappointing, as the returning characters giving fun nods to their series seemed to care more about the franchise than the actual production team. Bleh. |
I enjoyed it, but can't really commend it for being anything more than average. Wizard's portion was a pretty fitting finale to the show and served to show that Haruto isn't as emotionless as some of his critics like to think, but in retrospect wasn't an entirely necessary finale (other than seeing Haruto let Koyomi go of sorts) and Nitoh becoming Beast again just raised further questions.
Meanwhile the Gaim part was fun, but mostly just felt like fluff. The Bujin Rider concept was interesting, although I REALLY wish they'd stop getting terrible sounding VAs to do Fourze. Bujin Gaim is a lot cooler than I expected him to be as well - kinda wish I'd ordered the Arms Change figure now to go alongside my Legendary Riders. Finally the crossover portion (if there was one, they didn't really noticeably split it like they usually do) was pretty underwhelming. Bujin Gaim tree form looked stupid as hell, the Legendary Rider Arms were awesome but could have been showcased more (especially Wizard Arms) and Gold Infinity Dragon was just there for the hell of it. I liked it more than Ultimatum (and War Core of course), but it's nowhere near Megamax levels for me. To be honest I'd probably rank 2010 above it as well. |
I was happy to see the Gaim's half of the movie, more than the Wizard's half. I was happy to see the old good Micchy. :lol
I also loved some of the humor of this movie. Overall, I liked the movie. But it wasn't one of my favorites. |
Wow, I just noticed the Accel part in Gaim's half of the movie, where the sign Accel was holding said "Don't Question Me!"
Love the part! :D |
It was an okay movie and even though I have yet to finish Wizard, it's part of the film was more interesting than Gaim's part to me honestly.
> Now while I haven't finished Wizard, it's part felt good, even if it spoiled parts of it for me, it also made me want to watch the rest of Wizard. - Gaim's part felt good at first with seeing old Micchy and Hase, and just seeing them be beat riders again before Micchy went crazy. - Then there was the Sengoku States stuff. It felt pretty boring, with the older riders fighting each other. Ohh and Fourzes voice, man why!? Then seeing barely any Hibiki or Kabuto fighting was disappointing, but I understand. Then the dude lord, general guy. He was annoying and I wish BUJIN Gaim actually had a character, rather than be a suit walking. - The ending for me felt all over the place and Wizard arms should of had more action against Bujin Gaim, or fight with Wizard. - Overall? 3/5 It's an okay movie with and okay concept but the execution was sort of bad, and several times I felt like falling asleep. |
Wizards half- Meh. Ive never cared for Wizard and this didnt do much else. Seeing Nitou again was probably my favorite part, which isnt saying much.
Gaims half- Its Gaim, I loved it! Seeing Micchy not be a little shit, it was great. Though why Takatora didnt really notice him was weird. Not gonna question much of it. Crossover part- Pretty good, but showed me that I really need to grab the Rider Lockseeds :lol |
