Godzilla 2 in works?

So I guess Toho has given their blessings already and WB/ Legendary aren't jumping the gun with $$ for eyes.

I already enjoyed this one and I´m sure that the production team can do an even better movie next time around.

I am just glad that we dont have to wait another ten years for a new Godzilla movie :lol

I hope for Rodan in the next movie.

I would prefer them to continue making continue new monsters, add fresh creatures to the franchise. :)

But apparently the movie did have many references to Mothra... so there's that.

Wouldn't surprise me if they've already greenlit a new film.

Of course while it would definitely be cool to see more American made Godzilla films. But I have to wonder, will we ever see a Toho/Japan movie made again?

2) This^. It makes me sad. Although there could be a possibility that Toho might take the reins at some point, you know just to add thier own flare.

Seeing as though it made that much at the box office I'm not surprised to read that a sequel will happen, but frankly, I didn't like the movie. it was a boring Godzilla movie that Godzilla was barely in. I actually dozed off a few times. Waaaaaaaaay too much talking, not enough monster action. Hopefully the sequel will fix that.

I like the human characters. I don't want too much monster action, otherwise the human characters won't have much screen time. The next movie can have Godzilla play a bigger role.

Maybe alternate years?

We were just discussing this topic on a new episode of the Talkin Toku Podcast yesterday. And I've gotta say that for me at least the most obvious choices for 2nd film monsters would be the reptilian ones similar to Godzilla. Like Baragon, Anguirus, Ghidorah, etc. I could also see Mothra being some ancient creature cocooned near the core of the planet.

I just got back from the movie. My thoughts; Human scenes: interesting but could get boring at times. Monster Scenes: HOLYCRAPTHISISFREAKINAWESOME! But I stayed to the end of the credits because I was hoping for an Avengers-Style cameo at the end. My main hope was that there was going to be an Ultraman cameo so we could get an Ultraman movie, and then an Ultraman & Godzilla movie. "Godzilla v Ultraman: Dawn of Justice."
