Godzilla 2 speculation (SPOILERS)
 

Well the sequel has been confirmed but where can they go from here with the franchise? I had different ideas but them changing Godzilla's origin messed up things. I guess we could have Ghidora being a space monster that crashed into Earth and killed Godzilla's species among others. With Godzilla fighting him for revenge but, he seems like a trilogy end boss than mid.

They leave it open though by saying that he is way older then the original by saying he's from prehistoric times. This Godzilla is crazy old,and if he was around for that long,who else knows what is still alive as well.

When I saw the film. My friend notice a insect tank that read mothra on it. Now if the bug in there was a moth I can see it being mutated in to a new mothra for this movierse.

You know how they found those bones and the dormant M.U.T.O egg in the mine. Just think, what use there is for those bones.

Btw those talking about Mothra, I assumed the flying MUTO WAS Mothra. Right before we meet him we see Mothra on the tank, and that chick goes on about Gods and I just put the two together. It would be a shame if they changed someone like Mothra to something that looks like it got rejected from a bad Alien sequel but I assumed it was Mothra anyway and rolled with that through the film.

I know I saw at least 3 different things that said Mothra on it, so maybe he is next? Im not a Godzilla expert, but long as it looks awesome, I dont care if he fights himself :lol

It was more like a bat, I am aware, but since this is an entirely new beast it doesn't have to use anything other than the name. It could be a giant tiger called Mothra as far as the films are concerned.

Well in that case, you thinking the Muto was "Mothra" is about as close to Mothra as Zilla is to Godzilla.

I thought Godzilla's design was very close to the original Godzilla, right down to looking like an obese bear with scales.

That would have made zero sense when the male Muto was birthed from the spore in the Philippines and then chilled for fifteen years in the Janjira plant ruins. It's not like the movie explicitly showed precisely all of that happening or something. :lol

She and Serizawa were talking about Godzilla only at the time.

Godzilla's new origin messes up absolutely nothing. Even Destoroyah and Kiryu, the only monsters whose origins tie directly into the events of the first Godzilla movie, could easily be reimagined in some way that works.

Just remember what I said. Certain bones in a certain mine that can be used for a certain machine for the sequel. if you catch my drift. :lol

What are you even talking about here? I don't get why the plot information you've provided would make it being Mothra make zero sense? Honestly it isn't even something I really care enough about to debate, Mothra was just something referenced a lot in the movie right before we meet the MUTO and it gave it a name. You don't have to agree because there is nothing to agree with.

You're absolutely right, I reread that and realized I misinterpreted your description of those aspects as an actual origin.

In any case, thankfully the male Muto is not Mothra. If we do ever see her in these films, she's much more likely to remain faithful to classic designs than most other Toho kaiju, but I hope cues are definitely taken from the Muto on the kind of action she can provide.

I want to see the mechagodzilla in the sequel too although I don´t have watched those movies which got mechagodzilla in them but wants toXD (I am gonna start a Godzilla marathon in the summer:D)
But the one thing is for sure what I want in the sequel is Godzilla is battling with a monster in the heart of Tokyo:)
Although he has attacked Tokyo no less 28 times... poor TokyoXD

I mean it just messes up ideas I personally had not that it messes up the new franchise.

I don't really want to see a Kiryu-styled Mechagodzilla in the sequel, partly because they showed that Godzilla has no interest in destroying Tokyo, only in destroying other monsters. Plus, it would pretty much be a ripoff of Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SOS.

I'd say Mothra for the sequel, but Mothra has never shown interest in destroying Tokyo, and neither did this new Godzilla. I'm not sure what kind of plot could happen there. Maybe Mothra will show up to help fight off another monster?

Another idea: The director said he would love to do a Destroy All Monsters-styled sequel, so what if we got Godzilla 2: Godzilla + Mothra vs King Ghidorah, and Godzilla 3 would introduce a ton of monsters that all just wreaked havoc on the city?

They should save MechaGodzilla for the Pacific Rim X Godzilla crossover movie that I want. that will never happen
