Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Legacy 5" Figures Official Images
I found press photos of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers legacy figures on TRU image server.

The green ranger has the silver stripe :lol Im sorry, but its too funny not to mention.
But wow Zedd looks cool! |
Why is white's head so small? :lol
|
This is a perfect alternative for those, like me, who are unable to afford a complete set of the S.H. Figuarts Mighty Morphin Rangers.
|
Wow. They look like they're juicing, hardcore.
|
Want. Really Want pink and yellow. Oh and Zedd.

Typically as in inaccurate? I just don't get the point of toys like this that so clearly aren't good representations of who they're supposed to be.
Comic book art where characters roid out is one thing and that physique carries over to comic toys. The rangers are traditionally not big and beefy in show footage, so to make toys that are seems to be counter intuitive. |

Complaints are needless...
Love 'em or hate 'em, it's one's own call. Personally, I like what I see. They don't have the overtly-muscular features of past figures and Pink FINALLY gets an arrow. I know many have still-modern and classic Mighty Morphin' figures, but anytime they are released, the PR fandom takes notice and holds them to account for everything that came before them. I say make a move on them if one is lucky enough to even find them. I doubt this will be the dark hole the villain figures have been, but it might come close.
|
It's not that we don't love the figures. It's the damn pricing. (And personally I hate exclusives as a rule)
|
it's cool that they made all of them.. but by the end of the summer i'll have all of the figuarts versions.. so, i'll be happy with that over these lol.
at least their weapons are painted and not just molded in colored plastic.. i wonder if that'll make to retail.. or if they'll pull a tmnt and leave them unpainted. |

To be fair, the Armored Might line is using body pieces from the defunct Thundercats toy line.
It's a cost-saving measure where there's pieces already molded, don't have to cast new molds (save the head and any special pieces like boots/gloves/etc.). Wasn't that Bandai was like "LETS ROID THEM OUT!" as much as it was "WE CAN JUST USE THESE THAT WE HAVE LYING AROUND!" |
If it weren't for S.H. Figuarts, these might be okay substitutes.
I wonder how the weapons scale with Figuarts. AT least the blasters and Billy's staff. |

But, while they are indeed not as bad as others, the ripped look still isn't for me. |

http://i.imgur.com/S0cuBxp.jpg And they aren't using parts from the Thundercars line anyway. They might look the same at first glance, but if you look closer they're different. Quote:

These would've been sweet toys.
Fifteen years ago. Even actual superhero figures based off of actual over-muscled superheroes are better proportioned than this. Quote:
Ignoring that Thundercats never had a 5" line, the hip design is completely different on the 3-3/4" figures, and on the 6" figures the sculpts all over were unique to those characters, and had a higher level of articulation than this. Maybe the 6" and 8" classics figures, due to their simplistic designs, reused some parts, but I'm honestly comparing these pics to not only TC toy pics, but ones I own, and I'm not seeing any similarity. Again, Thundercats never existed in this scale, and if there is seemingly some kind of parts reuse in maybe the tructural aspects, I'd think it's more like similar design than actual re-use. Well that really is it, they can't re-use parts when the scale is totally different. The thighs are not the same, as every Thundercats figure had swivel thighs with a visible cut (or universal hinge-ball on the little guys) and neither Tygra could've supplied either upper arm piece for the AM figures. (The AM figures have the male portion of the hinge on teh bicep, while both Tygras have the female portion on the bicep for the double-jointed elbows.) And if it's the should, it could also be neither. Again, scale issues aside, the design doesn't match either again, as AM figs have a hole in the shoulder that neither Tygra has. The only thing (yes I'm making a lot of edits, but I want to be clear and fair as possible in case you are right) I see is that, at first glance, the AM figures seem to share a similar thigh design (with the muscle "hanging over" the hip) with the classics Thundercats, but upon any amount of inspection it's clear it' just a similar design choice, and the pieces are different still. (The muscles are slightly diferent, with the rangers having even more muscle tone near the hip, and the knee joint being differently shaped) I don't know where this rumour of Thundercats part reuse came from, if it did happen once long ago, but it's certainly not true anymore, and not true here. I think you're seeing "they're both muscular humanoid toys made by the same company with a similar design type" and thinking "parts reuse." It's simply not possible. |
Cool

I hopes these do well enough for Bandai to consider doing other teams. Given the fact that they have made just about every Red Ranger from PR they have a base for at least most of the guys.
2nd I hope I can actually get these before they sell out. I don't live near a TRU and only hit it up like once or twice a month. So I hope they make store distribution a little more even then the legacy morpher and megazord. I only saw those once and didn't have the money for them at the time. I might order Pink and Yellow online if I see them because knowing Bandai they'll pack those one per case even in a collectors line. |
Err...why is Pink's arrow almost as tall as her body? :lol

Would be awesome if the weapons combined and we got a figure-sized Legacy Power Blaster.

That silver stripe stands out like pouches on Cable or Deadpool.
