Reposting this from a thread I made a couple of days ago, but with alterations due to the recent news of Saban not adapting Gokaiger:

That is not even slightly going to happen. No American kids show is ever going to introduce a lot of Judeo-Christian religious elements - not on a non-Christian-oriented tv station. Show like Power Rangers can't even say the word "god" for fear of offending people, you really think they'll make an entire show based around angels?

Honestly, it's no real loss - the angel thing really never fit with any of the visual elements of the Ranger or mech designs. It can be dropped pretty easily.

Personally, my big hope is that we get something to replace the Tensouder as the morphing device. That thing was incredibly stupid.

^This was already covered. They can keep the Angels and call them something else. Remember, when we all thought it was going to be called Celestial Squadron? They can keep the wings and not call them angels.

And the Tensouder is going to be included. It's in alot of the promo material.

I think it's possible to keep the wings, at least...As long as they don't make it Bibleman and the Power Rangers, I think they could keep the angel theme too...

Digimon made heavy use of angelic themes as well, including using the word "angel" and variations thereof. The only concession I remember on that show was changing the word "Holy" to "Magna," as in "Holydramon" becoming "Magnadramon."

Angels are not specifically nor strictly Judeo-Christian; like ghosts, demons, devils, and so forth, they are general mythological creatures at this point.

But it's so stupid. Why can't they give this one the Jungle Fury treatment? :(

And yeah, I forgot about Digimon (never a fan). But it's a lot harder to reanimate angelic monsters (even on such a cheap ass show as Digimon) than it is to write out a minor component of the Sentai version that is in no way visually referenced in any of their suits or Zords.

So it looks like Saban will be trying to bring back the MMPR mojo by setting Megaforce in a high school and cast it with five teenagers, just like the original MMPR. Btw, I wonder if the name Megaforce is a homage for the sentai series Megaranger, which was also set in a high school as I recall.

I get a very TF: Animated vibe from what we are given so far in that it is a new show but has elements of MMPR season 1.

- 5 teenagers who become superheroes dressed in red, black, pink, yellow, blue due to bad guys invading
- Wise mentor figure with robotic assistant

Very MMPR, no?

Because then it would mean that Saban would have to reshoot every scene of the Goseigers with their Tensouders with the Mega Force Rangers with the modified morpher. I don't like the Tensouder either, but that's just how it is.

This is what bothers me the most about Mega Force; Saban's trying way too hard to make this feel like Mighty Morphin' like they're doing with Samurai.

They really need to make things more akin to In Space or Time Force.
Those two series are so great! MMPR just isn't a good series, no matter how you slice it...

I just hope this series is better than Samurai, and that they bring David Yost back as the Mighty Morphin' Blue Ranger.

It's a plastic face. You pull the mouth down and put cards in it. It is the second stupidest thing in the show after the ostrich mech that throws eggs.

You can't do the series without the Tensouder. It's how they call the Mechs, perform their finishers, do everything. Including Henshin. It's to intergrated into the series.

I think they'd almost have to. I don't see them dumping it, but i doubt it'll be on Gosei's Homeworld.

I am a little worried on what would become of the megazord toys.

If what we saw from that one storybook cover Yellow might be a total babe!

But I still wonder how they're going to mix the Gosei and Gokai elements together into a cohesive whole.

You know Jason David Frank said he wants very much to come back to Power Rangers. How badly do I hope he plays Gosei Knight, and then when they (For some reason) switch to Gokaiger, Gokai Silver.

Think about it people. Gokai Silver's Mech? Yea. Looks an awefully lot like Dragonzord.. Come on now, tell me that wouldn't be epic.

I'm not talking about coming from the future, but current time. Maybe a ranger saves a kid, and it turns out to be one of the future SPD Rangers?
