Gen Urobuchi still writing Kamen Rider Gaim
http://news.tokunation.com/2014/06/1...episodes-18602
So not looking to be a super short season, no not a 50+ plus but an acceptable length. |
46 Episodes is fine. Honestly anywhere in the 40's is a good length.
|
It's also worth noting that he mentioned in an interview (early on, mind you) that he was finishing scripts for one episode per day, and if he's been able to keep that pace going for this long, he could be a bit closer to the 50s than we realize...
It's certainly gotta be a weight off the shoulders to have no more toy tie-ins to work in (although given what he had to work with, it was handled nicely). Nothing left to do but focus on the story. |
That's odd, the article I translation I read was that he had just finished the script of the final episode. I think Gaim would be perfect at 45 episodes. A series should run as long as the story needs to be, not based on tropes.
|
If I cry enough, will he write episodes forever and ever?
|
Well as long as Gaim keeps on airing I am happy.
|
I just rather it not drag on for no real reason. Wizard was certainly longer than it needed to be.
Somewhere in the 40's should be a pretty good run. Not every show needs to go on for 50 episodes. |
Okay... this isn't big news.
Show will end a little shorter this year guys, its okay. |

I'm gonna try and keep my expectations low and hope for the best. I went into the series already damn near hating it because I couldn't get passed the motif and the stupid samba dancing dinosaurs from Kyoryuger had me soured on anything resembling dancing in a toku series at the time. I ended up really enjoying the show though, but I'm not gonna pretend it's perfect. It's not on the same level as Ryuki or Hibiki at least, probably gonna end up around W and Faiz for me I think. |
Gaim is a great series. It has become my favorite Rider Series...no, favorite Show in general. I'm glad Gen Urobochi wrote this show. If this had been the same as the last 4 shows, it might still have been okay, but not as good as this. This show is awesome for so many reasons; the story, the characters, the gimmick, and basically everything in it (well, except maybe the lack of forms for other riders, that was kind of annoying.). Anyway, Gaim has been enjoyable so far, I'm hoping that the remaining episodes will be as great as the ones so far, and, hopefully, Drive will be able to uphold the current greatness of the Kamen Rider series. I mean, it better not go back to the old "2-episode story arc" formula, because after a show like this, it'll be like Power Rangers in Space to Lost Galaxy: Ratings will boom at the end of the show, and then ratings will drop to...medium. So, basically, Kamen Rider Drive needs to be as good as Kamen Rider Gaim. I'm hoping Urobochi will continue to write for this show, and make it awesome (then again, I won't enjoy it as much, considering that this show has a fruit samurai theme, and to me, you can't top that.)

Over hype is what has been drowning mg enjoyment for Gaim. I've been enjoying it, but I'm tired of most of the fan doing foaming in the mouth over the show every week thinking it's the shit (I could understand the first 15 episodes but people are still doing it now) When the show is over, it'll all settle. I think its fighting for my number one series with Blade but if it has a crappy ending, then second place for you Gaim.
|
...Gaim isn't that good. The only character with a legitimate arc in over 30 episodes is Micchy, for fucks sake.

Also, agreed on the length. If Gaim would've ended in the 30s, that would've been totally fine as long as the story would've been over at this point. |

But seriously, you have a reason as to why? |

Edit: And Gen just confirmed on Twitter that he has finished writing the final episode. |

IN A GAIM DISCUSSION  I felt so alone for so long, welcome guys. It might not be quite as excitable this side of the fence, but it sure is more rewarding. |

Bicchy is one of the worst characters of the show. He just turned on everyone without any rhyme or reason for it. It just doesn't make sense and make him look like a spoiled little ****. His brother has had far more development than Bicchy. Not to mention we got to watch Kouta grow into being a hero. And Gaim is not the best series ever, but it is ONE of the. Very rarely do we have a series that puts this much emphasis on the show. There is not a single filler episode to be had (unless you count the pointless crossovers). |
I'd probably rank Gaim my third favourite overall.
|
Gaim is probably my third favorite as well in all honesty, and it isn't even finished yet. It could stay at 3, it could do down, it could move up. Hopefully by the end it either stays where it currently is or moves up one.

Probably second favorite if the quality stays where it is right now and the ending is good.
If its gonna beat out my number 1, Blade, its gotta do something amazing and totally logical for both the show and the Kamen Rider series itself, that is also completely unique to Gaim. |

In terms of "the best of the best" of what all I've seen, it's probably in my top 5 and maybe once again, in 3rd place behind W and Agito. |
Since i value plot most of all, Gaim is overall my favorite, Agito and Blade being second and third.
The character development in Gaim is pretty odd, Micchy changed drastically and became a different character, Kouta grew up, but still remained the same Kouta. Kaito didn't change at all, but his character is being explained slowly as the show goes on, giving the illusion that he changed, when he didn't. |

Right now, my top three favorite series are Blade, W, and Black. |
I like Gaim, but I don't see it cracking my top five, personally. Top ten, definitely, but some of the forced humor and intrusive toy shilling do hold it back for me. That said, I'm not giving a final verdict until I see how Urobuchi lands this puppy.
