Lexington Comic and Toy Convention 2015
 

This will be their fourth year and I can personally say last year was a blow out! They had at least 20 Power Ranger guests, along with many more TV, Movie, and Comic stars. So I figured Id make a thread to keep up with the Toku-related guests for this next one. March 13th to the 15th 2015.

Yeah, that's why I don't want to bug folks who aren't already planning on getting in those lines.

Given monetary issues with myself at the moment, I might pass on certain guests. Unless I REALLY want to meet them, Ill avoid the lines probably.

I'm incredibly excited about this con. It's a 9 hour drive from Maryland. But I booked a hotel 15 minutes from the convention. I made a vow to get out more and do more things. I can't wait !

Going all three days, already have a room reserved at the hotel. Driving 7 hours from Chicago.

I will pay you to bring one of the Windy City's legendary deep-dish pizzas. No I do not care if it's cold, that'll just make it better.

I'm waiting to get my laptop back to add new additions.

I'm still not quite over the fact that we have Vern Troyer coming here. I mean that's a really random, and awesome, signing.

It is cool, and it wasnt for Shamus of DansTokuRants, I wouldnt know he did Ferbus.

I'm really hoping to attend this convention as well. It's too close to Indianapolis to not try and attend, despite being the same weekend as the Indianapolis Comic Con, and while I could not care less about most of the guest, meeting Reiko Chiba, Takumi Hashimoto, Yūta Mochizuki, Satoshi Furuya, and Hiroko Sakurai is something I could only dream of happening.

i need to request that Friday off. While im relatively new to Tokunation, i cant wait to potentially meet some of you there.

Little over a week dude!

This is me excited. I'm actually excited. Expect things to go hilariously, catastrophically wrong soon.

Getting close now! I will be recording fan reactions to the con and talking to cosplayers for our upcoming episodes. If you see me, I'll be wearing a Ranger Command Power Hour shirt on Saturday!

I'm thinking I should strap the Dark Visor to my belt for easy identification. There can't be that many of them floating around...

As always I'll have my good ole camo hat on. So I should be way easy to find. :lol

I'll be there hoping to get as many of the original Power Rangers Cast's Atographs on my MMPR Complete Series DVD Set. It'll be my first Con so i'm excited! :D

I should be there in Grey Warden armor. Travelling light since I've no place to stay so it will just be the rogue armor instead of the fighter plate & helm. I with still carry my shield with the Cousland family crest.

Friday for certain and maybe Saturday if I stay for pictures.

I'll be there but I don't know if it'll be Saturday or Sunday. Either way, if you see a shurikenjin, try to leave it for me to buy.

I am here looking around but I am not in costume.

Well today was a great day! I found Den-O and trekkieb47, met Kerrigan Mahan and Dan SOuthworth, bought a lot.

Cant wait for day two!

So here's the rundown:

- Got in at about 830 and was running around because they weren't clear on where to go and what to do for general admissions ticket holders. Finally got situated around 0930. Was texting Uchi the whole time.
- Doors opened for us peons at 10. Uchi arrives, walks right in front and past me.
- Catch up, make him feel like a moron, spend some time wandering the floor before going our separate ways. I nearly slam into Dan Southworth because of his odd location just off of Ranger Alley, attached to a vendor booth.
- Attend a voice acting panel with Dana Snyder and the legendary Jim Cummings (because I still cling to the hope that maybe, some day, I'll overcome my flat affect and become a voice actor. HA.). Long story short, I haven't laughed that hard since the Bulk and Skull panel last year.
- Meet up with Uchi again at the Turbo panel. Many laughs are had, especially when, and after, Paul Schrier crashes in about fifteen minutes into the session.
- We split up again, and I head to the Ultraman panel while he and some of the newsies from elsewhere on the internets go to do stuff, leaving me the only one in attendance. I make use of my new camera's video function to try and capture everything. I fail to realize it does not record AUDIO until much later. Furuya goes on at length about how much he hated the suit action; Everyone learns the proper method of performing the Specium Ray.
- I sacrifice the MMPR panel because A) the Ultraman panel started, and got out, late; B) the line was insane as I understand; and C) I needed food. I proceed to gorge myself on overpriced, school cafeteria-grade chicken strips; for once, the reasonable decision would have been Arbys. I regret my decision but stick with it.
- Back to the con floor for stuff. What stuff? Find out tomorrow.
- Dan Southworth. Finally overcoming my shame of nearly walking into him hours earlier, I approach his booth. A stupid decision, as he was exhausted after the day's events and distracted, but the guy is nonetheless courteous and professional, and is kind enough to humor me humor despite my exhaustion-fueled ramblings.
- Running on fumes having been up since 0200, I proceed to take my leave, but not before taking pictures of as many cosplays as I can; we have a lot of talented folks down here, I hope to track down a few more tomorrow. There's one in particular I've been trying to find...
-Enjoyed the performance of a sax-playing street musician while waiting for my ride. For as much as I detest the song, he did a wonderful rendition of "Thrift Shop".

I'll be posting up all my photos from the weekend tomorrow night. In the meantime, I need sleep. Tali tired.

Sounds like Tali had a good a time as I did.

So I woke up late, but once I got there and my and Tali found each other, I met back up with Kerrigan Mahan to get a photo. Stood in line forever to meet ASJ, awesome guy. Met up with trekkieb47 and a couple others and went to various panels. Took a picure with Zordon, and got to the after dark panel. OH MY GOD. Thats all Ill say.

Today's After Action Report:

- Arrived at about 0900, managed to get in line early. Watched a few of the guests going in, namely Dana Snyder.

- Got through the doors with the first wave of General Admission attendees. Immediately found Den-O and tagged along with him for a while while he went around doing some trading and browsing. Uchi arrives, can't find us, we can't find him, we give up and continue on.

- Split up, went and tracked down Time Force member number 3: Michael Copon. Spent a few minutes BSing with his assistant/friend while he was with another attendee. Got a few minutes with the guy, who, by the way, is exactly as awesome as he acts onscreen. A moment I'd been waiting 14 years for... Also, I MAY have contractually bound my soul to spreading the word of his movie project. Do not hold me to that, though.

- More browsing. Meet up with Uchi and Den-O once again. Den-O heads back to his booth, Uchi and I head to the ASJ panel, and wind up sitting in on the last few minutes of the David Yost Q&A. Ask Uchi how the panel went, or better yet, check Ranger Command.

- Having been shooed out of the room for a raffle and to set up for the Zyuranger panel, Uchi departs, his powers exhausted from a long weekend of partying and awesome. Also he has work tomorrow. I opt to do something incredibly stupid and skip the Zyuranger panel in favor of more browsing and yakking. Because I make GOOD decisions.

- Make my way to the Bulk and Skull Q&A. Remember how I said Turbo was the hardest I'd laughed since last year's B&S? Yeah, this year set a new bar. The con ends on one hell of a high note for me.

- My wallet nearly empty and my spirits lifted higher than ever, I depart the con looking forward to the next year's adventures, and begin planning my attendance for the next one.
