Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah confirm for Godzilla 2
 

I was not sure to post in the SDCC thread or not, but be free to close it if any mods or admins want too. It looks like Legendary confirm that Mothra, Rodan and KG will be in the Godzilla 2014 sequel.

Mothra isn't much of a villain. She just causes a lot of collateral damage.

Considering the first had 3 monsters, Godzilla included, bumping that number up by one won't really do any harm.

Plus they're monsters who don't need to talk or show character development. That's what the human cast is for. So I'm really, REALLY excited to see how this plays out.

The Japanese movies got away with using three or four monsters before. They are giant animals, so they are a force of nature and you don't have to fresh them out too much. Villains in comic book movies are humans or similar to humans where you need to fresh them out into the story and give them development.

So we pretty much have GMK without Baragon and Rodan instead :lol

I´m pretty hyped for this news. I cant wait to see Mothra and Ghidora realized in the Legendary Universe.

More like "Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster", which actually featured these 4 monsters.

I now demand a fan amde image of Bryan Cranston riding Mothra or Ghidorah.

I guess it's okay. I enjoyed the 2014 film a lot so a sequal would be pretty great.

I like the idea of there being a Jet Jaguar Jaeger in Pacific Rim 2. It wouldn't happen, but it'd be cool.

As awesome as this is, I'm also wondering if Godzilla 2 will end out being an overcomplicated mess like Transformers 2 and Spider-Man 3. I know the first movie had 3 kaiju and all, all four of the mentioned monsters just seems like too many.

I'm hoping we get more monsters and less awful human characters.

I can't wait to see Godzilla 2 the first one was grate.

We don't need too many monsters. We need human characters for the movie too. The cast in G14 where okay. Not great, but better then what you see in the Transformers movies. I take the main character from Godzilla over Even Stevens 2.0 in Transformers 1-3 anyway.

Sounds like an American attempt at Destroy All Monsters almost. Can't say I not psyched.

Apparently not all of them will be in the second film, just that they will be in future films.

Maybe they can save KG for the third movie. Mothra and Rodan have nostalgia value to them, can lead to good toy sales and ticket sales too. I wonder how they would pull off Mothra without the fairies.

More accurate comparison would be a remake of Ghidorah the three headed monster.

I can do without the fairies, as long as they don't make Mothra evil or anything. In all of the movies she's appeared in, including the original 1961 film, Mothra has never been portrayed as a true bad guy monster. Slapping the name on some random destructive beast for Godzilla to destroy would be complete waste of the name.
Might as well just call it "MUTO #3".

Can't wait for the buddy cop movie featuring Godzilla and Mothra with Mothra portrayed as a sassy black woman who take none yo shit and Godzilla as the straight laced white dude who is so totally square don't those white folks know nothing yoooo.
