Kamen Rider Adaptations
Ever since Dragon Knight, no one thought of adapting more rider shows.
But which rider series do you think the most should be adapted? |
Kabuto is the one I'd really like to see an adaptation for. Tonally, it sorta fits what Dragon Knight was going for, taking itself seriously but also not being so depressing and grim like early Heisei rider. On top of that, there's 11 potential Riders they can play with and the bug theme isn't so out there like some other Rider series. The special effects have aged quite well, IMO, and the action is some of the best in the series, which I think is a must for any American rider series.
I haven't seen all of Den-O, but from what I have seen, it also looks like it could make a fairly smooth transition into an American adaptation, and they could have a lot of fun with the Imagin. |
If they did OOO, why not for go for the hero to get into the "spider-man" route.
Great power comes great responsibility. |
I always thought that Blade would make a good adaptation. There’s this huge roster of villains and heroes along with quite a bit of personal strife, which has a lot of potential
|
I think you meant the most likely to be adapted?
And they did think of it. Saban held the copyright to Power Rider for a while there. Honestly I'd think it'd have to be Fourze. Kids love Space, there are a lot of gimmick toys to collect, and the story can be easily adapted for an American audience. The whole school thing vibes well with what Saban has done with Megaforce. |
I'm going with Kabuto. Has a nice corporate, military vibe to it, but also has just enough riders to sell merch on American shores.
I'd say Gaim, but I don't want anyone tackling that until they've proven worthy of that task. lol |

Although Blade is probably too good to be adapted. Considering how shitty Dragon Knight was and the fact it was just watered down Disney area Power Rangers and watered down Ryuki, I don't want to see my favorite suits get used for a story that's shit. |
Would anyone want to see W/Double adapted?
Go Sherlock Holmes style? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyGAc-OLAiQ And if OOO got adapted. It's trailer should be like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYMMOjBUPMM |

Due to the ass-tastic video quality, nothing before Den-O could realistically be adapted.
I think there's a good case to be made for every show after Den-O. |
I actually think Decade would be a good choice to receive a Dragon Knight/ Power Rangers style adaptation. Decade's less than coherent storytelling wouldn't matter, as they wouldn't need to stick to any part of it other than "Decade and friends travel around and meet other Riders". It beats all other series in terms of toys as it allows for merchandising at least thirteen series worth of riders (Kuuga-Decade, Amazon, Black, Black RX), so there's tons of action figure potential. If Saban is involved, they can use the Shinkenger crossover to draw in some of the PR fans. And it can be used to establish the existence and premise of all of it's predecessors, allowing them to use any crossover footage moving foward to Double and later series.

From how BOA likes to market things Gaim or Fourze would probably work best both have pretty plentiful toy lines and both could be down scaled to BOA quality quite easily. For lockseeds they could just use modified Sound Lockseeds or just modified the backs and load all sounds into the belt. For Fourze they could downscale the belt and just remove the led display. Gaim also has the whole arms change so BOA would have a field day on that for the playability factor like zord builder.
Hell with some clever modifications they could probably just flat out use Gaim wholesale while removing the death elements and Fourze just feels like a power rangers series(a good one) in a way to me. |

How would you see OOO adapted?
|
I think that it should either continue from ryuki to faiz or they should make a wizard adaptation or a kabuto one.
|
I would have to say either OOO or W. Those would be easy to adapt I think.
|
Fourze. It practically wrote itself as the Kamen Rider of Power Rangers.

It all depends on who will adapt and what they want to do with the show.
For Saban in conjuntion with Nick it would have to be wizard or gaim depending on what PR show they have out at the time so they could say that it is a spin-off of Dino charge/ Imaginationless Toqger( Train force/ Supertrain force/ The Brain Pain Train) with out having it stand on its own for the first season. The marketing would be easy too, just have the japanese toys with stripped chrome and say that the chants are some magical language that they use to transform. For anyone else, say one of the channels that have mystery shows on (ala Sherlock, Elementry, or the like) the big thing would have that translate to a child freindly sort, thus Kamen rider W. It would get people hooked on a mystery, have action for the Bros and kids and have the english language henshin devices for minimal change to the toy source maing it easy to bring over. With all the logic aside, I'd personally love to have decade adapted and adapted well enough that they could retcon Saban's Masked Rider and Kamen rider dragon knight as cannon yet apart of a bigger whole of riders that worked longside and came before. that and it would explain the "New powers never before seen on earth" from SupermegawannabePirate Rangers. But I can dream. |
