Kamen Rider Drive Production Team Revealed!
Written by Riku Sanjo, produced by Takahito Ōmori (both of Kyoryuger) and directed by Ryuta Tasaki (Gaim's director)!
http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/drive/ Good names all around. |
I had a feeling Riku Sanjou was going to be writing this. I am glad part of the Kyoryuger staff is doing this, it makes me more excited for Drive. This is looking really solid.
|
Rather than having a 2 episodes story Drive has a 3 episodes story format.
1st week is the incident episode 2nd week will be the reasoning episode 3rd week will be the settlement episode A total number of 108 kaijin will be introduce in the story. (Read from unknown source) |
108? That is a lot for a 50 episode series.
Not sure I'm feeling the buzz from the Kyoryuger cast. Hopefully Drive isn't Mr Perfect and the villains actually do stuff. This guy did W and Fourze though, right? That means we might see Foundation X again. |

Any reason why all the front page posts keep saying 15th Hesei rider? If my memory serves me correctly, Drive is #16. Hence the whole showa vs hesei Gaim movie and KR fifteen and whatnot lol.
|
Riku Sanjo again? Okay, I can work with that. I loved W and he co-wrote Fourze which was a lot of fun, pacing issues aside. Not familiar with the producer, but the director did an okay, if not revolutionary, job with Gaim.

Alright! Kamen Rider Kyoryuger! My body is ready! I am also prepared for countless twirling shots have young women in mini-skirts as harps play in the backround.
But what I'm really ready for is the same awesome writing and direction I fell in love with in Kyoryuger. This has finally made me excited for Drive. |

Director: I dig it. I've enjoyed his work so far.
Producer: Those credits make me cringe. Writer: This disappoints me. I only like one of this writer's works and I was really hoping for more fresh blood to the franchise. Also, if we're back to the crappy episode formatting (or worse like suggest), then this season just lost a lot of potential. |
The only thing that could make this show better is if Drive's after work hangout spot was the hip , new trendy patisserie that opened up in his town. Run by an elegant Japanese man that speaks French.

Nice to see Sanjo back on a Rider show. His tend to be some of the best.
|
This news just left skid marks on my shorts.
|
Kyoryuger and W writer? Gaims director? I am so in now. Sure the suit and gimmick I am still iffy on, but given the wackiness of Gaims gimmick yet the amazing story? I am in now.
|
Well I am in now, can't wait to see the trailers.
|
Keiichi Hasegawa is confirmed as Drive's secondary director.
|
Cool
|
So the show is going episodic? I can work with that; we haven't seen predominantly episodic Kamen Rider since Black RX. It'll be different after Gaim, but I'll happily take it over a return to two-episode arcs.
Locke's going to hate it, though. :lol |
I can live with Episodic with maybe a bigger story building in the background, I mean that's kind of how Super Sentai does it anyway. Though I do like Gaim's pretty much giant connective story, I loved it in Kuuga, Agito, Faiz, and Blade too. As long as we get away from the 2 part story arcs.
|
Episodic eh?
I don't mind the whole episodic thing myself, actually I think it'll be a nice break from Gaim's more serailized plot. |

I'm so glad to hear that they are not going back to the 2 episode format since its been killing me for the longest time making it hard for me to watch kamen rider.
I also remember hearing a while back that Riku Sanjo wanted to do a whole other season of Kamen Rider W with Accel as the main character. I wonder if he is using any of the stuff he wanted to put into Accel into Drive. |
