This Thread is for everything involving Minecraft.

I learned from the interwebs that an update is coming soon. It has a new Mob which are basically Ender Silverfish that have a chance of spawning whenever an Enderman teleports. Bunnies are coming and have a 1/1000 chance of spawning an attack rabbit. Their evening out Villager trading, and they now tend/harvest/replenish their own crops. And it's adding four or five new block types which should be awesome.

I made a new world today called Nossandia. I used my name (Nathaniel) as a seed word and it's iron rich. I didn't walk four blocks without finding coal and iron right on the surface. Went in deeper and found more.

I like Nossandia.

I think the update's actually out now. Also, you missed the biggest flagship inclusion of the update: Ocean Monuments. They're huge underwater temples full of new mobs called Guardians, and there's a big Elder Guardian inside the center of the monument. Also, there's slime blocks (basically trampolines), and banners, which are customizable in a similar way to fireworks.

It's OK, it's only the biggest part of the update:lol.

My computer may be dead and I can't play Minecraft on it but at least I have my Xbox 360 to play Minecraft. :lol

I was in the same boat. And now I am addicted.

So as my seed for my Xbox 360 Minecraft world I put it as: Kamen Rider Gaim. And what big feature does it have? A giant jungle biome. I shall call it Helheim, of course. :lol (also ran into two different villages: one in the desert and another in the plains but this one had its houses one block higher then normal. Naturally I helped out the villagers by making them dirt walkways so they can move freely :lol)

And that always bothered me about Villagers. They never build the entrances to their homes right, or build walkways. I had one in my game who build himself into a house with no doors.

Ah Minecraft, probably the best money I ever spent on a game.

Indeed. And the best part is that there's always an incentive to jump back in even after so long, just to check the new updates.

With some free time I hope to build a redstone elevator using a tutorial for the first time in my life. :lol

I kinda want to get the Xbone version just to do the Achievements... I mean they actually managed to give it 50! o_O Plus then I could play with my college buddies without us having to setup a server...

Infinite world an construction are pretty cool, but I think one of the most amazing things about the game are all the player created games, things like spleef or hunger games show just how versatile the system is.

Minecraft feels better to watch than it is to play in my opinion.

I really need to play MInecraft, Ive watched enough Lets Plays Id love to, but I dont wanna lag my laptop down, and I might buy either a ps4 or xbone just to play minecraft at christmas. :lol

I'm guessing you all don't know about the Gaim mod for minecraft?

I play Minecraft on the Xbox and I am thinking about putting in the seed Faiz.

I've been playing Minecraft since the beta, I really enjoy it. I haven't played too much lately, but this new update is definitely going to bring me back in.

I haven't heard of that, but I hope it's as awesome as it sounds.

it's why I love watching the Let's Play kids so much. (Aside from Gavin, Micheal, and Ray). I would never thought to do half that stuff.

I play on the PS3, so no mods for me. There is a sweet Sly Cooper skin I want though.

Can console players play with PC players?

Sadly no. You can't even play between console brands. So someone on a Playstation Network can't play with someone on an X-Box. And neither can play with anyone on the PC.

Apparently my name (Nathaniel) as a Seed word is better than I thought. I found Gold for the first time, Lapis, and Red Stone. Now if I just find Daimond I can consider a trip into the Nether.

Consider making a mine?

I had one but I didn't find much. Red stone and some lapis, and a nice vein of coal. I'm thinking of building up supplies of what I'll absolutely need and abandoning the village I built beside to see what else I can find.

There's a system to making an effective mine, I used a tutorial once. They can be extremely productive. Just very monotonous. :lol

I think what I might do next is try and locate a ravine, actually. Then I can have some idea of what might be down there.

Finding a ravine is great, I created a world once where I spawned right next to a massive one, it was really convenient. I just built a house into the side of it and worked from there. Well, until I had to rebuild after stupidly leaving the door open one night and a Creeper wandered in for a visit. :(

That exact damn thing happened to me. So now I only invest in iron doors that require a button.

I was once so paranoid I built an obsidian room as a panic room, and kept my most precious chest in there. :lol

Yeah, I do the same thing now too. I also usually build a long entry corridor so that if a Creeper either tries to follow me in or surprise attacks me as soon as I walk out it only blows up a small piece of that instead of my house.

I was playing hunger games on a randomly generated map once and found a ravine... with a stronghold sticking out into it! :lol Got some good loot there... didn't win, but helped me get a kill.

I hate iron door/button combos. I can never get through before the door slams in my face :lol.

Yeah, I went and got this on the XbOne...

I will never, ever, EEEEEVERRRRRRR get over the absolute horse fucking shit that is paying for skin packs and texture packs (which I didn't even know they had! Just knew of the Mass Effect and Halo packs, but didn't know there were others.)

I got the natural pack because I had an odd couple of dollars in my account from gift card leftovers that I'd never find a use for... But I was not happy. And don't want to again.

At least there are SOME freebies in the packs. So now I'm Batista..err, Drax the Destroyer. Would prefer an Assassin skin but naturally they're not free.

Got 14 Achievements in like an hour though. Yay free gamer score!

And man, there's nothing quite like the feeling of burning in lava, but just as you die, you place a block cutting off its flow and see your items floating on the ground in the death screen when you expected to see them burn. Should've recorded that.

Makes me wonder how that will all change if the rumor is true and Microsoft really is buying Mojang. Hopefully not.

I decided to start a new world with the Seed word DigDown, pretty nifty. I'm starting in creative just to build myself a decent house. I also decided not to 'cheat'. I only have wooden tools/weapons. I'm mining the rest myself.

So as I was digging my 5x5 mine downward, I came across a cave system (a big one at that with two ravines and a huge abandoned mine) and I look below where my mine and the caves meet and that's when I struck my first diamond vein (6 in total in the vein). Also found some useful stuff in the abandoned mine too like: pumpkin seeds, melon seeds, a saddle, some gunpowder, and some cocoa beans. :D I got lost a few times but I made it out in one piece.

I love those kinds of surprises :lol

I will never understand the appeal of this game. It's faux-retro (and not the good kind that actually could exist in 1987), it's too open world, has no actual plot or even a bare bones reason for what you're doing (SimCity at least says the point is make and manage a city), and it CAN. NOT. END.

Sure, "make your own story," but why? You can't do anything but build crude blocky structures.
