They dubbed JDF's battle cries over the Ninja Storm Green Ranger's fight scene.

Robo Knight, who dies in an earlier episode, is randomly back.
Troy: Good to see you old friend!

Emperor Marvo dies in his spaceship. No super-mega-duper power switching like in Gokaiger.

Rangers still lay on the ground after the Legendary Battle (after saying goodbye to the Legendary Rangers) because ... because I have no freakin' idea why. It doesn't match the scene at all. Easy to spot the "uhhh, translate the Sentai!" bit on that one.

In short? It was a Legendary Let Down.

Can't say I'm shocked.

This isn't a surprise at all. We all saw this coming.


So when's Dino Charge?

With this sucking so much I won't even watch a single episode of of Dino Charge. I hope the show gets canceled and sold to a company that would treat it better.

Sounds like just how the whole season started as... a SUPER MEGA letdown.

I believe it was shown earlier, in France.

Aired on UK Nick yesterday.

Honesty, I got more excited at the lack of the silver stripe on the Green Rangers helmet and the appearance of the Lightspeed jackets than I did at any of the actual fight footage. Bring on Judd Lynn I say.

Let's just say that my fanfic "Mighty Morphin Guardian Rangers" will be better than this crap. Not trying to brag...maybe.

It's not hard to make fanfics better than Power Rangers. We believe you. XD

See? That has actual logic & sense. I mean, they hardly ever shoot original footage, & it shows since they don't edit out Sentai-exclusive suits. But they actually shot original footage at least a couple of times in SM for no real reason, like the Legendary Battle. They had footage of the Sentai-exclusive teams, so logically it would warrant making up their own scenes. Only they used Sentai constantly, so making their own scenes is pointless & a waste of money & time. They have no semblance of common sense. At all.

This is going to suck. Dino Charge is going to suck. The show is going to get canceled. But Saban doesn't care, he's transitioning Power Rangers from TV to film yet again, and not to improve on writing but to increase toy sales.

The ironic thing is is that I don't think they care about toy sales as much as we think they do. They give off the feeling of "making enough money to get by" to me when looking at their products & show. Also, please, anyone who thinks I'm incorrect or knows that I'm wrong in something please let me know because I don't wanna give any misinformation or false ideas & things like that.

Anyone who understands merchandising knows that you not only need to advertise as much as possible, but you have to make your product really shine in a presentable format. For Toku it's a show &/or movie. To sell products you need to have a constant majority of people who will buy it. When people buy items that aren't of necessity like food or clothes the most common reason is that they saw the item that looks appealing &/or being used somewhere & enjoyed what they saw. If people like seeing a specific item due to it's appearancs or due to it being showcased to the best of its ability then they now most likely have a mental/emotional connection to that item that makes them want it. For Toku items to be handled properly they need to be put in important situations in the format. Meaning if the show/movie makes the important situations (characters utilizing said items, plots involving said characters & stories that really express said plots) as good as possible then more people will be inclined to buy them.

I haven't bought things related to Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon & Power Rangers in years. And that's because I've fallen out of those franchises. I left because their stories (the presented format meant to feature their merchandise to the fullest) weren't satisfying in the slightest & still aren't to this day. And they won't see another cent from me until the step it up. I pour my money into Kamen Rider now because, while they do make mistakes sometimes, they actually do what needs to be done & do it much more often; tell good stories & plots with good characters that make people wanna buy their merchandise. I can't tell you how much time I've spent & how many lists I've made trying to sort out what I want & don't want from their toylines (mostly because I enjoy what I see so much there that I want everything but I know I shouldn't, so I have to limit & organize it better ^^; ).

And this isn't me trying to dog what's easy to make fun of (Power Rangers) or just say what lots of people already know (Kamen Rider is superior in every single way). It's me trying to understand what Saban Brands, Bandai Of America & whoever works on the Power Rangers show (seriously, outside of credits that don't give anything but a name that never turns up any good browser searches, I can't find any list of people who work on it, company associations or anything no matter how hard I look) don't understand. Yes, major companies do have certain limitations. But I don't think "Make an interesting & respectable piece of fiction!" is one of them. And really, I have no 100% proof or guarantee that their numbers are gonna skyrocket if they do, but I do have lots of confidence in saying that if they made the show better the sales of their merchandise would increase.

That's why I think they don't care about "making more money because they can". Because they aren't realizing that they could have more. I don't know if the reason is ignorance, stupidity or some problem among the suits that we'll most likely never know. Maybe they do know but don't have the proper resources &/or direction? I have no clue. But there is a reason & that reason, whatever it may be, is keeping them from earning as much as they could. Which, in turn, keeps us from enjoying their creations.

I hope I actually made sense with this post & didn't just babble again, bad habit of mine. XD

For the record, the post was more insightful than mere babble. And while I am not of the same mind in the sense of "will not buy another figure until the show shapes up" party, I do see your point and wish that Saban would take stock in his efforts. The crew from long before clearly took some time to make some things work. Not always the best, but some were definitely far from the worst. There are some things that just exceed all understanding with some fiction when you first see it. Take Jurassic Park for instance. Most who saw it were probably riveted when they first saw Hammond's creatures in full-view for the first time. CGI was taking shape and the actions, lines, and even music when Grant and Co. are taken aback feels almost magical. We haven't gotten ANYTHING of that sort in PR recently. Nothing that just jumps out and makes you wonder how someone could make this; makes you feel like this is one of life's great pleasures. Incidentally, Jurassic Park was marketed almost to death back in the early '90s. Early PR got the same treatment, and now it feels like its so ingrained that it gets overlooked and underscored, not at all like an iconic institution. There is no real marketing or genuine attempt. It's almost as if the writers are using their own judgments as to how a show like this should play out, instead of taking the time to truly examine its history and what it has and has not done; will and will not do. However, that being said, there is still potential in what could be defined as a "screw up". It gives one an opportunity to go back in and try to either explain what it failed to do in the first place. The best manner that I could think of is more product that actually gives itself a chance and even pushes itself further than what should be allowed, but that's an argument for another time and thread.

Yea we got chip Lynn back and well cast seem to say they are not going to suck meaning they saw how bad previous season were. Plus chip build character round the actor personality

I agree. It looks cooler with it than without it. It's such a small, insignificant detail though so it shouldn't create as many arguments as it does.

It really does look better. It's just that far too many people loose their shit if anything if even slightly different and not exactly how it was 20 years ago.

Can't say I'm shocked. After seeing the French version of the episode, I knew it was going to be a huge disappointment. Then again, the entirety of Megaforce has been a Megafarce on Saban's part.

First off, you don't know that. Dino Charge hasn't aired yet, and I doubt the show's going to get canceled again, given what we know of the season so far. Quit making assumptions.

Second, we've got Judd Lynn back for Dino Charge, there's been rumors of Austin St. John coming back as Jason for this season, and we're getting a Power Rangers-exclusive villain for the first time in a few years (I think Tenaya 7/15 from RPM was the last known PR-exclusive villain, I don't know). I'm cautiously optimistic that Dino Charge will buck a few trends Samurai and Megaforce made.

That's what I want to hear. The sooner we get to Dino Charge, the better.

The silver stripe on the helmet just looks weird, I think if it was gold to match Dragon Rangers arm and leg bands it might not be as jarring.

Can't say I'm surprised that it was a super mega fail, even the name of the series should have been a clue to prepare for disappointment. At least we'll always have Gokaiger to show what could have been an awesome season.

I just hope that Dino charge will be good now, I watched all of Kyoryuger but I'm hopeful that Dino Charge will actually appeal unlike this adaptation, it's a shame because through interviews with the SMF cast, they get on really well and could have done a sterling job if the scripts had been written decently.
