39th Super Sentai Series?

"With TOQger halfway done, rumors for the 39th entry of Super Sentai has surfaced online."

Man, Toei & Bandai seem to be covering all modes of transportation with ToQger, Drive & whatever this new possible season maybe.

Jet-o Jet-o Jetman! If these are right, this shoud be good. But a three jet robot... Could this be similar to Go-Onger, with at team of 3-2-?

Ah good. Usually fake rumors start to surface for three or four weeks before we get at least a trademark to give us an idea.

I figured they're fake.
I just want another Flash King...

Considering that it's from orendsrange, I'd call this BS.

We usually don't start hearing new Sentai rumors till early Janauary the latest.

We did however find the trademark registered for ToQGer about this time last year, but no official details or images until the press conference.

I think would be like the timejets from timeranger.

I will be up for the idea if we get a Jetman crossover for the 2015 Sentai vs. ToQger film.

I have a feeling that 39th Super Sentai might be darker and edgier because ToQger is comedy Sentai. Heck! Hired Gen Urobuchi to make Super Sentai a nightmare for kid!

I wonder if Toshiki Inoue will ever return as a writer for the 2015 Sentai? If Gen Urobuchi can make a Rider show a throw back to the early 2000's Rider shows then I would love to see a Sentai show be a throw back to the early 90's Sentai shows like Jetman, Zyuranger and Dairanger.

Hell no! We had our fun with Gaim, but I refuse to let him near Super Sentai! And what is your problem anyway? Purposely giving kids nightmares; get out of here, you sadist!

Or how about winged creatures in general?
Get a bird of prey, bat, insect, flying squirrel and a flying dragon you got yourself a team.
The sixth can be a flying fish for giggles.
We shall call it Flightman.

What is with you in wanting darker, ediger shows? That doesn't always mean it'll be better for it.

Didn't Go-Busters, Ohranger and JAKQ bombed for being too dark? Kamen Rider always been known to be more serious franchise, so it can get away with being dark. From what I've been told by several people for years that Sentai always been known to be more campy and silly compare to Kamen Rider.

What do you think the name is going to be with this rumor?

I just saying that 39th Sentai show might be darker and edgier because Kyoryuger and ToQger was comedy sentai.

Considering Gaim's ratings were terrible, I don't think Urobuchi would even be let near Kamen Rider again so soon, so it's pretty safe to say he won't get to write Sentai either. Also, dark and edgy just isn't Super Sentai. It has always been the lighter, friendlier franchise, with some minor exceptions.

Aren't the ratings generally terrible anyway, though? Like with each year they go down a bit.

Besides, regardless of how well the ratings are, they hire the same writers for diffent projects a lot! Doubt Urobuchi's gonna work on Sentai though.

The ratings for Gaim were unusually low for Kamen Rider (which always has better ratings than Sentai). Toei even told Sanjo that he should make Drive completely different from Gaim, so...

Kinda curious despite ratings, I wonder if they still liked the shows and I'm not just saying Gaim, I'm also saying for other show that had low ratings too.

Huh, I see. Still, I think he cold still write for Toei sometime int he future. Just...not in Sentai though.

Back to the thread topic, whatever the 39th is, I hope t's a different tone than ToQGer. I don't need or want it to be super dark or anything just...different than what we have now.

also, a black ranger instead of a green. I wouldnt' mind it starting with another three person team actually. A brd theme would be interesting. I don't feel like they'd fall back on vehicles so soon after ToQger AND with Drive out as well.

That's really interesting to know. Well I think with DVR and other stuff Gaim's rating is probably higher but still. I hope Drive does well.

I also am excited for the next Sentai, the bird theme sounds cool if it happens.

I would like to see a Medieval Knights theme or Greek Mythology them. Saint Seiya is popular with younger boys in Japan and is another successful franchise from Toei. For a Medieval Knights theme, I always had a cool idea of them using gems as the collectable gimmick. They can use them to transform by attaching them to their swords.

You keep saying that like it's a bad thing, there's nothing wrong with having a show that's focused on comedy. Kyoryuger and ToQGer both have their serious moments too. Hell, you can say that about every Sentai show.

I get the impression that you want Sentai to be like The Walking Dead or something, and yeah…that's just NOT gonna happen. You're watching the wrong show if you want something along those lines.

But the mechas are sucks !!

And since when do the mecha decide everything about a show?

Even if he did write a Sentai, you'd only start complaining when Urobuchi uses all the same tropes he uses in all of his shows.

We already did. It is called Gekiranger. Heck, might as well call Jetman the Silverhawks while at it.

I mean a sentai could follow the concepts.

One cat-eared sentai is enough. Moving on!

Didn't stop Toei from making two shows about Ninja, and three about Dinosaurs.

We also got 2 about cars and a ton that are animal-themed.
