The one who used to upload RAW for Gaim said that he received violation report from Youtube so he will find another way instead. |
Subs are up already.

Another great episode. I love that the show seems to be going for a underlying theme of moving forward which is really fitting for a car/vehicle centred show. The more I see of Shinnosuke the more I like that guy. The way he sees his job and the responsibilities he has as a police officer. It makes sense that someone like him wouldnt trust a talking belt that gives him the offer to be a superhero right away. The fact that Belt was a human once is also really interesting and now I´m much more eager to learn who the original Drive was.
The Roidmudes are also very interesting in the way they act and try to replace humanity as the dominant species on earth. I wouldnt be suprised if Belt had a hand in creating them in the first place. The Action was still very pretty to look at and that chase scene had some nice moments in it that were a bit ruined by all the cg effects. Cant wait to find out what Kamen Rider means in the context of the show and why it is already well known by Kiriko, Belt and the Roidmudes. |
Good episode, but it's going to take me awhile to get used to the lighter and sillier mood this show has coming out of Gaim.
|
I enjoyed this episode more than the first one. Heart, Brain (I love him. His style is just Epic), and Chase are excellent. And it was nice having some backstory on why the Belt talks and what happened to Hayase. I'm not huge on the name of the villains though. Roidmudes? Sounds like a new line of designer steroids pro athletes use to get around drug tests. So much of this series though reminds me of W it's uncanny.

Wow, super ultra fast subs already out, speed mode on indeed.
I liked that scene when Shinnosuke understood what was going on, I hope the detective vibe will stay onboard for the rest of the show. |

looks like drive will return to the neo heisei annoying stuff:
bad comedy every episode plot development only once in a while annoying useless wacky characters who dont contribute to the plot yet still get a lot of screen time |

Liked this one better than the first, which I thought was okay. I like how Shinnosuke put his cop skills into action this episode. The action was pretty good, if overly cg-heavy. The Rider Punch wans't as cool as the Rider Kick, but ah well.
We get confirmation that the belt IS Doctor Steinbert, but what he has to do with the Roymoodles remains to be seen. also surprised that Shinnosuke's partner is alive but that injury does seem to have taken a heavy toll on him. Not sure what to think of Heart and Brain at the moment, though the Roymoodles plan to take on the perfect aspects of humanity, reminds me of what little I've seen of the Worms from Kabuto. I wonder what Kamen Rider means in Drive and why Kiriko and Belt and the Roymoodles know what it is. Next week is Chase's real introduction as well as some insight into the black Drive form the first episode. Weird that he's being introduced this early, but idk. Also the next case with the ghosts and everything seems interesting. All in all though, the episode was pretty good. Not quiiiiite feeling it yet, but at leas tit's watchable. I feel like I'm getting more into this than I did with Double, which is weird since they're pretty similar in some respects. Only gripe I have is....I hope this doesn't go back to the whole 2-part episodes thing. With over a hundred Roymoodles I hope Drive at least fights a different one every week, not counting plot important ones. EDIT: Also, it's somewhat weird to see a vehicle actually being important in Rider again... |

The most mysterious part and possible key to all the mysteries
CORE DRIVA-D The part were the Gravity Drive Engine is stored inside the belt, and also were the belt stores the conscious of the belt user and Doctor Steinbert. (Where label 02 is) http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/drive/belt...r/photo01.html |
Loved this second episode very much. This was great stuff. The mystery behind Belt's previous humanity, the fact that there are over 100 Roidmudes, the real identity of Chase. Some great questions have been raised so far.
The production values continue to impress me with this show as well. Very solid stuff, the slowdown effects continue to be very impressive. And the attacks and Tire's continue to be pretty great to watch. Also the Metal Hero fan in me can't help but notice what I feel is some blatant love for Winspector. That inside Tridoron henshin Shinosuke had this episode hearkens back to Ryoma/Fire doing the same thing in Winsquad/Firesquad every episode. Love it! Tridoron is very much the spiritual successor to the fantastic vehicles of the 90's. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800...674/yTy7CP.png |
This was a good episode. I like justice hunter having a shield

"Justice Hunter" + "Max Flare" = "Delicious BBQ" |
Great episode. The show is starting to get better seeing how I didn't like how fast the first episode went. I do love how great the Justice Hunter Tire looks on Drive. It also feels nice that Drive is going to be called a "Kamen Rider" again seeing that recent riders like Den-O, Kiva, OOO, Wizard and Gaim never called themselves "Kamen Riders" outside the movies.

Hold on, is this series actually going to avoid the "presumed dead ally ressurected/rescued by bad bad guys but later becomes a good guy trope? Good for them.
Also, I'm hoping they give us an actual reason why Kiriko couldn't become drive . Again, she seems to be a fairly competent character (so far) and it will be interesting to know more of her back story. |

Every time i see that Desity Shift gear the Special Crimes unit uses…I can't help but think that they're gonna instead bust some ghosts.:lol

I think compared to Gaim, Drive is really hitting the ground running and is starting off at a good pace. It certinally helps that there's no overarching story like Gaim had.
I think my one complaint about Drive is that compared to the last few shows that I've sat through, something about Drive feels much more toyetic than past series the whole Trideron chase scene just felt like one three minute commerical for the DX toy. Now I know that selling toys is the whole point of Kamen Rider but I dunno…I feel like it's not really as sublte with Drive as it has been in the past. I think TJ Omega put it best in his review of the Drive Driver, past Kamen Rider gimmicks feel like cool future tech while the Shift Cars just feel like toys. |

I think we hit the peak of feels like a gimmick thats clearly just for toys with Fourze personally.

Toy-like doesn't necessarily equate to 'gimmicky'. I think the reason this series' collectibles have a more toyetic feel is because they're literally based off Hot Wheels or Matchbox. Toys. |

Something about the Trideron just seems like something they threw in just to sell more Shift Cars and DX toys. |

And on the topic of the Cars: Atleast you can play with them. Cards you can shuffle.. I guess? And the Medals do nothing (Sorry Bro), the Switches you can click.. yay? And the Rings were just meh. The Lockseeds you could open and close and have them make noise yea, but other than that? Atleast with the Shift Cars you can play with them about your desk. What I want are Shift Car Hot Wheel track sets. Or better yet a slot car track! |
Eh, from watching Drive, the Shift Cars feel more like the Minicons from Transformers than anything else.
|
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Shift Cars have been more useful and kicked more monster butt in 2 episodes than the PlaMonsters did the entire run of Wizard. :lol
