Ryuki Figuarts VS Dragon Knight Figmas
 

What's the difference exactly? Why, for example, should I buy a Zolda Figuart for $60 when the Torque Figma is only $15 and virtually identical in your clueless grandmother's eye?

Is the only reason the Figmas are dirt cheap because people initially only bought them as temporary placeholders to be sold off when the "real" figures come out?

I only own Siren (Femme) from the Figma line.

The Figuarts, to me, overall feel more solid and have a crisper paint job. Maybe it's because the only one I own is a female figure, but both Siren and her accessories feel cheap and like they can break really easily. A lot of the details also feel muted compared to the Figuarts and overall, the figuarts have a very clean paint job, with very few, if any, "paint bleed" areas, unlike the Figmas. In Torque's specific release, I think he's lacking his shoulder cannons on the figma release. The figuarts seem to come with more accessories as well. There's also the die cast feet.

I'd recommend getting the Figma to serve as a placeholder for the more expensive figuarts like Knight or Gai, but otherwise it really is a case of getting what you paid for. The Figmas are fine cost-effective figures, but I think where the figuarts beat them is in attention to detail and better quality plastic, as well as better QC.

The Ryuki Figuarts are some of the most quality, crisp and amazing non-robotic figures I own.

The Figmas are like toys. Cheaper, less detailed, less everything. Also, holy shit is Zolda really $60? I got mine for $30.

Yeah, that's nuts. Zolda and Ouja were both the first Figuarts I've ever had. It's insane how much they go for now.

No contest. The Ryuki Figuarts are on an entirely different level compared to the Dragon Knight Figmas. There's no comparison. Figuarts all the way.

Actually I just picked Zolda for example. I don't know how much he goes for.

It all really comes down to the little details that the Figma doesn't have.
Additionally, the lack of accessories can hurt.

But Ouja is pretty high up in prices. He been out of print for a while now and he's a very popular character. I hope he will be reissue later down the line along with Knight.

Since most of the obvious answers has been covered by others, I'll bring up a different point. The Figuarts actually have Contract Monsters(well, for the major players currently) while the Figmas are SOL.

I think the one advantage the Figmas have over the Figuarts is the fact that Siren and Wing Knight both have fabric capes.

I dunno, I feel like I'm the only one whom likes the Figma Dragon Knight figures…they just look more convincing as dudes in stunt suits to me.

And I'm the kind of guy who thinks "Gary's brand Super Cola" tastes no different than Pepsi or Coke along with being much cheaper. :lol

I like them too, the rubber suits are a nice touch. It's just brought down a little by some of the details not being quite there. Like the figuart has those awesome blue eyes that Knight has in the show, while the figma is lacking it.

This. As far as I've noticed, most of the regular releases are pretty affordable, basically negligible to the Figmas. They can be had for prices mentioned above. The only ones that are expensive are the aforementioned out-of-print figures like the silly expensive Knight. Also, I think the Dragon Knight figures were rushed as they, from reviews, are plagued with QC issues. So what everyone else has said so far applies. I've yet to get a figma, but will start with Avengers Thor. So I'll revisit this discussion when I get him.

That's a good point. Look, I think the Figmas are great for what they are. They do seem closer to the in-show look than most Figuarts, and are great sit-ins for the more expensive counterparts, but, again, you get a better overall collectible with the Ryuki figures. If you just need some Ryuki figures, love the sculpt, or are a DK fan, get the Figmas. If you want the full premium experience & better/more accessories, get Figuarts.
