I mean it could be worse and we could be writing this about any of the as-yet-unreleased Riders instead (although if it were the movie guys or Jam I'd be less bothered), but still.

It's going to drive the cost up. I went ahead and dropped $85 on a hobby shop's pre-order because I will gladly pay an extra $20 to not deal with Mandarake for 2 months at 7000 yen.

So what exactly is a Lucky Draw exactly? Just the term for a super hard to get item? It sounds like it's something you'd get in a raffle or something.

From what I gather, you get a ticket and those who are pulled out of the raffle then have the chance to purchase the figure.

I imagine the CEO of Bandai has this huge vault where he keeps a pool filled with tears of fans and money he's stolen from us where he jumps in and swims like some twisted and sadistic Scrooge McDuck.

What an annoying thing to do. It's not the end of the world or anything but to take a heavily used form of a popular character and make it not only a convention exclusive but a lucky draw post convention is a bit of a dick thing to do.

For how much this form appears in the show, this does feel kinda like a dick move. But oh well, I'm still going to do my best to get it.
I just recently was able to order the Black Iron Man for 5000 on Mandarake, so there's a vague hope that eventually this will be more or less affordable.
I'm sure I won't wait for it to show up for under $80, cuz I'm a sucker for the Gaim Figuarts.

I think what disappoints me the most, well, after Baron being lucky draw- is that everything else but one item is too. I really wanted those magma effects parts for a decent price as well Banshee Norn. Heck, I would have probably ordered Sailor Moon if she had a regular web release too. It all feels a bit short sighted.

I think this is gonna set a horrible precedent for future Gaim releases. If one of the most prominent designs in the show can't even get a regular web release, I truly fear for Ryugen Yomi and Dragon Energy Duke.

You'd think that if anything, Ryugen Yomi or Duke Dragon Fruit Energy would be Lucky draw territory.

But at least we know now. So we won't make the same mistake. Unless Bandai dicks us around again somehow.

Considering there is only one Tamashii event per year that has exclusives, I really doubt they'll save EVERY Gaim release for it and release them that way.

Wasn't Scrooge McDuck already twisted and sadistic to an extent? I haven't been following Disney Ducks for I'd say a decade now so I'm in the dark as to how McDuck is behaving these days.

Also it does seem like the "IN" thing for toy companies to do jerkish moves. Hasbro's One Steps and "Titans", Bandai's Lucky Draws and Playmates anything. It's practically like they only want money and won't fully listen to fan input these days.

Can someone explain to me how exactly lucky draw works with premium bandai?

Basically the lucky draw process with these types of things (generally through the Tamashii Web Shop) works like this. The item is available for order on their site. However the person ordering is limited to just 1. Whereas middlemen can generally order an unspecified number of a product, lucky draws are 1 per customer/account.

So you place the order and as with all web exclusives you don't pay til the item's in stock. Basically you're notified that you did win the lucky draw raffle, and therefor you've gotten the item, when they notify you to pay for it. Because even if you win the draw you're still paying for the item, it's just a lottery to determine the very few SOB's who actually get them.

Mine was 70 bucks on Mandarake, not that bad for such limited release

Yeah Iw ound up getting mine for 7500 yen before shipping and was able to hook someone else up with one for 7000. They were on there at Nakano & Complex for quite a while over this past weekend though sadly have not turned up since.

I got one of the 7500 Lemons off of Mandarake as well. The magma effect hung around on Mandarake for a couple days or so as well.

Hopefully they get more in for those that missed out (and don't start jacking up the price either).
