38.49 is the promotional/discount price. The list price in the item description reveals what it'll actually cost at retail.

I'm gonna say it $55 seems like a reasonable price for this.

I'm not gonna argue against it because it's a 10 disc set, so you're getting a lot.
I just wouldn't spend a dime over $35 because I'm broke as fuck :p

Not that bad of a price to be honest. However I doubt I'll get it right away since I still have to pay off Black Beet's pre-order and do my holiday shopping. By the time that comes out my money will be like 99% locked away for BB. But hey, maybe I'll ask for it as a birthday gift, or just be sensible and get it whenever I have the money.

Preordered. at $40, I cant pass it up.

I want to cry. I paid $500 for the entire series on DVD from Japan and now I can get it subtitled, in full, for a fraction of the price. :cry

Huh? Amazon's DVDs/BDs are always cheap. I have their exclusive Cowboy Bebop set preordered at $69. Sailor Moon S1V1 at $52. Hell, the Halloween set cost me $90.
