As The Season Ends
As the season comes to a close and we, for the most part, feel disappointed about this 'tribute' season. I thought we could go over the better points of Super Megaforce. Keep things positive before Legendary War starts and we go negative faster than a political ad campaign in October.
I think the voice acting is a very good place to start. The voice acting in this show has been spot-on since Megaforce. Vrak especially has been the highlight of the season, and Mavro just continues the trend for me. Even Tensou I like. The new footage is another good place we can go. Vrak and Metal Alice inside his underwater liar for example. Even Robo Knight, though I still don't like some about him, had good new footage added. So, what are some of your good memories of this embattled season? |
Vrak is Back. That's about it :lol

Even though Super Megaforce was a Super Mega Disappointment as an anniversary season, I personally felt like it was at least fun to watch episode by episode. It's not Gokaiger (which I consider to be one of the most passionately made tributes to anything ever in the history of movies and television) but even in the incredibly watered down story of Super Mega, the energy and love from the Gokaiger footage still shines through in my opinion and at the very least is up to par with some of the better episodes of the original Mighty Morphin Series.
Oh, and the episodes Blue Saber Saga and Spirit of the Tiger. :) |
I honestly don't have any good memories about this season at all. The only thing I'm looking forward to this Saturday is the Dino Charge trailer.
|
Well, this season sucked..... I hate to say this, but it was worse than Operation Overdrive.

P.S: Power rangers should go back to Disney cause Nickelodeon obviously doesn't know what it's doing except samurai that was good. |

My thoughts about this poorly-made season (is it a surprise?? nope, not rly) is the fact that they were mainly focusing on Legendary Battle and Tommy coming back. I am probably will be hated by hardcore JDF fans, but I don't see Tommy as the "BEST RANGER EVER". Though he was in Mighty Morphin, Zeo, Turbo, Wild Force (only Forever Red), and Dino Thunder and was supposed to make a big impact on the series, I didn't see why he was all that famous. And he rants on other rangers on Facebook, Twitter, whatever, I just see that he wasn't a big impact on Power Rangers. They could have made ranger toys beside Tommy, but NO! I can see why the rangers in this season have less character. Also, what I also hate about this season was that it was poorly-made, by using more Sentai footage and a bit of PR footage. It was so disappointing. The only episodes that gave me hope were "Super Megaforce", "Blue Saber Saga", "A Perfect Storm", and "Vrak is Back PART 1 AND 2". Out of 10, I give this season a 1/10. Disappointing, Saban. If Dino Charge will make up for this horrible season, it would mostly have:
By the pictures, I can probably tell that this season is going to better than SMF. |
SMF has made me want to read a fanfic where Captain Marvelous shows up and commandeers the position of Red Ranger, demotes Troy, Noah and Jake to Blue, Green and Silver respectively, and kicks their asses into being a better team.
For example, when they don't shut up during a Megazord fight, the Good Captain overrides the Megazords controls and just lets the MOTW whale on them until they shut up and learn to not talk every fucking second like the kids at home will get bored not hearing nonstop dialogue. |

Again, only person on the entire forum who loves Super Megaforce...
It's lonely here on this side of the fanbase... |
I can't see how anybody even tolerates this ****storm of a season. As I was looking back at Gokaiger, I notice lots of things Saban could have done. Here is a list of things that would have made this season hundreds of times better:
-Cut every pre-Zyuranger team. They are unneeded, especially if you are too lazy to write an explanation for them. -Make an explanation for the Dairanger team. Use the "Magna Defender's old team" excuse if you have to. -Adapt the Gokaiger/ Hurricanger team up. If I recall, most of, if not all of the Ninja Storm Rangers live in or near New Zealand. -Gokaiger vs. Bangai Heroes. Not only would it bring back lots of fan-favorite suit designs (Shadow Ranger), but it also includes one team morph that was missing from this season.... -Have a full Lightspeed Rescue morph. Lightspeed Rescue seemed to get the least amount of love in SMF. All we got was a cameo from Carter and Dana. That was it. This was the team morph I was talking about in my previous point, and it also leads me to my next point.... -At least one Titanium Ranger morph. It was obvious that they had the suit. If they adapted the Gokaiger vs Bangai Heroes fights, Orion could have transformed into the Titanium Ranger while fighting Sentinal Knight via original footage. -Basco or a Basco-like character. This character could have been Orion's rival, and could be a new American-Made ranger. -Make the Gokaiger adaption separate from Megaforce. Even if that meant skipping Goseiger all together or postponing its adaption. This season felt rushed, and the addition of the random "new powers" didn't help it either. More time seemed to be spent on the new powers rather than other seasons that got little to no love, such as Time Force, In Space, and Lightspeed Rescue. Not all of this is Saban's fault, though. Due to Nickelodeon's 20-episode limit, Samurai was dragged out over two seasons. Had this not been the case, we would be finishing up a Go-Busters or Kyoryuger adaption right about now. If each season were still 40 episodes, Megaforce/ Goseiger-adaption would have finished in 2012, and hypothetical-different-Gokaiger-adaption would have properly landed on the 20th anniversary as opposed to the 21st anniversary. But, because of Nickelodeon's 20 episode limit, this was not the case. And, alas, we got the crapstorm that is Super Megaforce. |

To me this season had an "it's so bad it's good" kind of feel to it. I realize it was bad but i had fun watching it and making fun of it's laziness. Is it terrible? Hell yes but do i hate it? When that's kind of hard to say to be honest.
|
The season was terrible... Honestly, I got the feeling they were trying to make this ****storm bad and piss off the older audiences. Honestly I didn't really care for the finale because I was too focused on Pokémon ORAS. I would give this crap 0/10. I can't understand why anybody would understand this crap. I've seen videos on YouTube on the clips on SMF and this one person has the ignorance to defend this... I just hope Dino Charge doesn't suck otherwise I'm done with Power Rangers and going into Sentai and if Ninnger fails too I'm done with both of them and just focus on Kamen Rider cause that's the only toku right now that matters to me.
|
Well... they at least gave us another badass in blue.
I mean Noah can't hold a candle to either Joe or Billy, but at least he's made solid effort... if a very confused one. Quote:
