I tend not to buy Sentai mecha due to their lack of interesting construction or dull aesthetic.
I still think Shurikenjin is dumb, but it might end up being a fun kind of dumb and worth collecting, so I might end up being all in mecha wise (Keyword being might).

I don't do Sentai roleplay toys, though.

I wasn't planning on going in, but the mecha look fun by themselves as toys, so I might get one or two. :)

Pre-ordered the Mecha. This will be my first Super Sentai Series i will actually collect( at least the mecha).

I don't know if it's because ToQGer was such a let down and Kamen Rider Drive doesn't interest me that I'm so in love with this mecha, or if because I genuinely love the idea of what they're doing.

Either way, down the rabbit hole I go!

That pun :lol I'm in. It sold me with the Ribbiter Repeater, and that beautiful UFOMaru. I saw that and just went "Yes!"

I'm getting the mecha for sure, but I doubt I'll get into any of the other stuff. The only Sentai items I've ever really been into up until now were the Figuarts, but the mecha with its throne gimmick is just the right type of ridiculous for me to love it.

I'm not buying anything until I see the show. I'm not going to spend the money on representations of a character or robot unless I like them.

This will likely be the first Sentai I watch, so what better way to celebrate than by picking up some mecha, especially something as awesomely ridiculous (ridiculously awesome??) as Shurikenjin.

I preordered Shurikenjin without hesitating.

A friend bought me the RH-03 for my birthday last year, and I was effectively sunk. It had been a while since I'd owned a toy that didn't fall into the "adult collectibles" category, but I was won over by the neat engineering. It was a bunny! A helicopter! A terrible hat for Go-Buster-Oh! It had a tiny Usada Lettuce! I was sunk.

I paid too much for Kyoryujin and never regretted it. It was the voices: I loved them MUCHO. And again, the clever engineering; there was this potential there to unlock hidden features. (I never looked up a battery guide, but I experiment from time to time.) Heck, I even went partly-in on the ToQger mecha... admittedly, before I saw the show. Even without sounds, I'm enjoying finding combinations never used in the show. And the "battering ram...!"

Looking at Shurikenjin, I'm so curious! It's clear the wolf mecha folds up into the lower leg of the different mecha. Can it form the center of the mecha, too? Is there more hidden in the other leg? Is there anything hidden in the dump truck? And the combination of stuff - dragon, ninja, train, doggie, dump truck, elephant - is so wonderfully random.

I'd exercise patience with this stuff - after all, won't it appear in the U.S. in a few years? - but given the comparative quality of recent Bandai of America releases... I mean, Kyoryujin without GABRUCHINO? No, thanks.

Okay, I'm weak. But these toys are so much fun to fiddle with! (Wow, I 'm using a lot of exclamation points today.)

I'm keeping my eye things and will pick stuff up towards the tail end when people grow tired of the series and ditch their mecha.
I like the idea that the aux mecha like Paonmaru & UFOmaru have a humanoid mode, alt mode, and combined mode. I like that the base mecha can swap the red humanoid with the blue dragon right out of the box. I'd like more add-on components instead of just swapping, and hopefully combinations better thought out than ToQger.

The sounds are wasted on me. I don't like my toys making noise. Dekaranger Robo has been the only lights and sound gimmick in a mecha that I've liked.

I haven't bother following a Sentai toyline since Kyoryuger. If I like the show well enough then I will likely collect the gimmicks. The only thing I like about ToQger was the henshin device to transform. Everything about that line look okay or crap.

I am going to definitely pick up the changer, but the mecha....I don't know. I don't really collect mecha and since we move around so much, it would be a pain to have to box it all up in a year or two.

We should be seeing more toy reveals soon and new pre-orders as well.

i am waiting so far i am in but i want to wait and see at least some reviews of these first


also i am currently getting old goaranger toys so my wallet is being eaten up by that LOL

I think this wasnt posted yet but this scan confirms that the shurikens will have lights and sound on their own.

Think we'll see an Artisan release of the mecha? Thinking about passing on the initial release and waiting to see if it gets the ToQ-Oh treatment because I really, really, really dig Shurikenjin's throne/exo-suit design and don't want to have buyer's remorse if a better version is released.

even if it is not i do not think it would be too hard to find one later. ToQ-oh is still pretty easy to get and sense the diecast one was released price even went down a bit

The reason ToQ-Oh is still so easy to get probably has more to do with the fact that neither the show nor mecha designs really set the tokusphere on fire. Ninninger already has some buzz going for it and, unless they totally botch it in the execution, will probably be more in demand as far as merchandise goes.

I guess I'll just take my chance with the standard DX and hopefully if an Artisan release is announced I won't lose too much on the resell.

This series looks far more appealing to me than Train Rangers. I'm sure my opinion is unpopular but I am being genuine when I state it.

How? As far as can tell, everyone loves this stuff more than they ever loved ToQGer.

Here things may be different but normally, when I speak ill of ToQGer, I tend to get all sorts of outrage from certain fans. It's no big deal as I had to deal with the same sort of grief over my lack of affection for Carrangers. ;)

Here, people tend to be sort of apathetic towards the traingers. Just see the length of the discussion thread for example :P

I seem to remember some excitement before, and right at the start of the show but I haven't been on-line here for a couple of months so I didn't see how it all played out.

Toquger started out promising but it has been disappointing people week after week to the point where most don't care. When something did happen, and it didn't very often, it was "good by Toquger standards". I stopped watching midway through episode 2 since I gave so little of a shit.

Well I went ahead and pre-ordered the first wave of Ninninger stuff over at HLJ :D

Looking at today's news, I'm starting to wonder, due to a particular henshin device, if Ninninger isn't going to be something of a parody series. I'd already gotten that sense from the randomness of the mecha: train, elephant, dump truck, ninja, UFO, dragon, and elephant? The froggie gun? What's being added seems even more random and off-the-wall.

I'm looking forward to this series, and I'm very curious as to what tone it will strike. The word that comes to mind is "wacky."

Has there ever been a ninja sentai that wasn't? :lol

i never get the main stuff, it's just too much money for me, i always get the sixth ranger stuff, i have been doing that since goseiger, i dont care about the designs or whatever, i'll buy regardless because i fight against evil and im always the sixth in every series.


sounds crazy but that's my passion. actually i always love the sixth ranger stuff and gold's stuff is awesome.

Sentai parody seasons tend to do well. Hence why I'm all in. GIVE ME BURGER MORPHER.

Well my Shurikenjin is paid and about to ship as well. I used HLJ as a last resort again, missed out on the amiami restock this morning even. But somehow HLJ came through for me for the first time in recent memory.

Got the Ninja Ichibantou and the GamaGama Gun. Looking forward to them even if I still dislike that they did the same mistake as with last years ToQ Changer in regards to the features.

My shurikenjin shopped this morning! Should have it early next week since I splurged on EMS.

Anyone know if there is any kind of first run bonus for him?

And yes! The bonus is that you get all 5 primary Shurikens. Aka, Ao, Ki, Shiro, & Momo
