DX Police Deco Gunbir-Oh Gallery
40 Attachment(s)
Go on!
TokuNation is proud to present a long long overdue gallery. Rounding out our COMPLETE series of Engine Sentai Go-Onger DX mecha at last, we bring to you the DX Police Deco Gunbir-Oh! You may recall last year that for the entire month of July we took a look back at the entire Go-Onger toyline and posted galleries for each set and their various combinations. The elusive Toy Dreams Project Police Deco Gunbir-Oh was the final piece of the puzzle I'd been unable to attain until very very recently. Thankfully though I can finally share a full gallery of this wonderful set with the community! It should be noted that as a Toy Dreams Project release this is an entirely toy exclusive coloration. It's solely unique to this toy and has no basis in any show related material. Like basically all Toy Dreams Project releases. Packaging As a special release, Police Gunbir-Oh differs from the standard DX Gunbiroh in that it was sold as a complete 3-piece boxed set. The components of Gunbir Oh were originally sold in 3 individual boxes. As a limited Toy Dreams Project release it's only natural that these figures would be boxed together for sale. The box obviously has a bit more flare to it thanks to it featuring this new deco of Gunbir-Oh as well. It even advertises the altered G6 combination you can make with Engine Oh which is impressive. Birca DX Birca was originally in a mostly bright green color scheme with black for accents. For Police Deco Birca black has flipped from his base to replace all the green, while the base retains a flat gray color. The eyes have also been changed from bright yellow to white with blue pupils. The silver detailing and #4 emblem, as well as all 3 tires are largely unchanged. The Birca Engine Soul has also been changed to an opaque black plastic with a more "sparkly" foil like label on it. Gunpherd The least changed of the 3, Police Deco Gunpherd is only distinguishable from the original because of the gray used for his base. Otherwise it's nearly identical to the original DX Gunpherd. It's kind of understandable though as Gunpherd is already a police car and had the appropriate colors to begin with. It's a similar situation to the Gaohunter Blue Moon release with the mostly unchanged Gao Wolf & Hammerhead. The Gunpherd Engine Soul has also been changed to an opaque black plastic with a more "sparkly" foil like label on it. Carrygator DX Carrygator was a bright orange car carrying alligator robot. Now he's a sleek black & white Police Deco car carrying robot? Yeah alligator car carriers are still a little out there no matter what color they're in. By far this one looks the best of the trio. And oddly it has the easiest color swap. All of Carrygator's orange plastics and paint apps have been swapped for white. And since the basic figure is black with green accents already, boom you have a police gator that looks pretty damn snazzy. It really outshines the standard Carrygator. The Carrygator Engine Soul has also been changed to an opaque black plastic with a more "sparkly" foil like label on it. Gunbir-Oh & Combinations When all combined Police Deco Gunbir-Oh actually succeeds in being a far more cohesive looking robo than the standard version. These colors lend themselves very well to the individual vehicles as is but the combined form is incredibly appealing. The combined forms with the various other Engines benefit from this color change to an extent as well. The one form I was most excited to create with this set involved the DX Engine Dai Shogun. Though it isn't really an official combo nothing else would be either involving Police Gunbir-Oh either. Either way I think it's befitting that 2 repaints of Go-Onger mecha that aren't normally supposed to be combined with anthing, look pretty damn snazy together. It's by far my favorite thing to do with this set. But you can also still create the Engine Oh G6, G9. & G12 with this set as there are no mold differences with it, only color. And while the G6 combo looks fine, and perhaps G9, by the time you get to 12 all of the Police Deco parts are on the feet and don't mesh with anything else sadly. Final Thoughts At the end of the day DX Police Deco Gunbir-Oh is by far a superfluous thing to own. It's gorgeous in these colors don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled personally to have it. But you have to be a huge Go-Onger fan to seek this one out as it's a toy exclusive coloration. Worse yet is that in most cases it's prohibitively expensive, ranging as high as $150-200 on the aftermarket. I love this thing, more than regular Gunbir-Oh by far, but it's definitely for the ultimate Go-Onger collectors. |
That is a really cool redeco.
Even in black these things are so silly and insane.
Dark Valvemax Megazord!
really want to start getting these guys sometime down the line, but I can only dread to imagine the cost to this awesome figure
I love when Sentai series do redeco sets. They always turn out good, especially these noir style ones. I know it's police, but I still love the overall paint job of it.
DAMN. This set is glorious. For one, its an entire Police themed Mecha. Second, GunBirOh was a sweet design to begin with. One day Ill try to own this.
Love it. RPM was bossome and this deco while Sentai is still cool.
Am I the only one who wishes there where Seiku-Oh and Kyoretsu-Oh, so you could have Engine-Oh G12 Alternate Version!!! or something like that.
That seems.... interesting
I tried Go-Onger but couldn't fully get into it, but I've been catching the designs on Power Rangers RPM (a friend's insisted that I watch, and I can tell why.)
The new color scheme is a definite improvement. Nevertheless, looking over the combined final form, I now understand the "clusterbleep at the end of the year" sentiment. |
Alright, yeah, that looks pretty cool.
this makes me wish i had all the go-onger mecha even more
As far as repaints go, this is pretty top-notch. I can dig it.
It's so beautiful I can cry. :cry
I wasn't aware this was a police theme. There's not really any indication stating otherwise, right? Neither Birca nor Carrygator have police badges.
(Also, this is a genuine question but I have no interest in being in this specific contest) |
Nice toy, but i dont see it worth that much.
This is the first good look I've gotten of this and it's a good one. Pretty sweet redeco.
I have a mighty need
I'd love to collect the Go-Onger mecha. But that may be pricey... I'll have to look into that.
That, and I'd love to watch Go-Onger at some point too. I liked what I saw so far during Gokaiger. |
Apparently I need to watch go-onger now just so I can see this thing in action.
I didn't know this version existed. I love the black repaint and it certainly combines well.
I honestly like the White on Croc better than the normal Orange.
Looks way cooler in this color scheme, in my opinion. No idea what it's meant to represent.
I'm fond of repaints anyway but this definitely benefits from a unified colour scheme and the colour scheme is more imaginative than just black. The price point really does push it out of accessibility but it's something I'd pick up if I could afford to.
I didn't know that this existed. Black and White is a classy colour scheme.
It's a cool deco on an ugly megazord though the combination with Dai Shogun looks freaking awesome!
Never seen this redeco, looks good in black.

I always love Black redecos. This is fantastic.
Didn't even know this thing existed until recently but it's utterly beautiful.
I love Black repaints they are so pretty and evil!
I was just thinking the other day about why I didn't collect any of this line and now after seeing this; I'm really bummed out. At first, the designs bothered me to no end but I've gradually grown to love this mecha. Maybe one day I'll get some of these... But I'm sure they are way too expensive.
I had no idea that this existed, but seeing it combined with the Samurai set makes me sad because I will never own either of those pieces of awesomeness.
Over the top silliness but it still looks freaking awesome, much better in black for sure.
I wasn't sure how good it would look when combined the Dai-Shogun, but it looks surprisingly good. Only wish the other two got their own special versions as well.
Looks pretty sleek no lie
Never watched Go-onger but gained an appreciation for the fantastic zord designs through RPM, despite how daft the bigger combinations get (hey, at least it's not the samurai final mech :P) |
Really wish I'd gotten this set. My Engine-Oh is lonely.
That is one snazzy looking set, I can see why it's so high on the secondary market. The palette swap is very tasteful, and looks great combine with the other metallic mecha in the final pictures. It makes me want to dig out some RiD figures (original show) and have make a comical seat unit. Sorry.. lol
I don't want to know how long it took you to remove all of the dust off of these figures before photography. :P
IMO, these guys are best with Dai-Shogun. It gives G6 an overall black base with gold, red, and silver for highlights. If you keep going on to G12, Kishimoth's reds add to Dai-Shogun's coloring very well. The only odd parts end up being the blue backpack and the shoulders. I also prefer the Gunpherd from this set over the original because the grey base helps break up all the black, giving Gunpherd more color and highlight. |
