TokuNation is proud to present a special holiday gallery for you. But not just any gallery a brand new Gallery 2.0! Released 2 years ago, S.H. Figuarts Gokai Christmas is a special one off form from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger episode 44. While we did a brief photo gallery of the figure at the time, we never did it proper justice. But now we're introducing a 2.0 gallery of sorts, a full fledged look at this wonderful figure. Check out 55 images and the full review below!

Packaging
S.H. Figuarts Gokai Christmas was the first and so far only sentai Figuart to be released via Toei-Hero.net. Generally figuarts are released via this site when they can't find a home on the Tamashii Web Shop. These figures tend to be made in even smaller quantities than standard exclusives as well but they have the same stellar quality. Gokai Christmas comes in the standard Gokaiger styled boxed but with tons of new detailing, primarily some gorgeous gold foiling on the edges and text. Aside from this a striking green & red candy cane striped pattern is also featured on the outer box and the inner insert. It's really just a fantastic package that I'm a huge fan of.

Main Figure
S.H. Figuarts Gokai Christmas is a pretty straight forward release. Much like the actual suit used in the show this figure is a basic repaint. As a combination of Gokai Red & Gokai Green the majority of the figure is just a repaint of the basic male Gokaiger body. Aside from being two-tone there are no other real changes to the basic body.

The real difference with this figure and the other male Gokaigers is the helmet. It actually is, like the rest of the body, a mash-up of Gokai Red & Green's helmets. Unlike the basic bodies though the Gokaiger helmets all had unique visors. So Gokai Christmas comes off with a wild helmet that goes from the sharper lines of Red, to the softer Green design. The helmet also features a gorgeous new gold paint app on the Gokaiger emblem.

Honestly if you own the other 4 male Gokaigers there isn't anything new for this figure at a basic level. But it's a gorgeous figure and a wacky concept brought to life.

Accessories
Gokai Christmas, while already excellent, also includes a plethora of accessories:

4.5 - sets of additional hands. Honestly the hand selection on the Gokaiger figuarts was always excellent and Christmas continues that tradition. 4 full sets and 1 extra pointing finger give you pretty much everything you need.

1 - Gokai Gun. As has been the case with all the Gokaiger weapons in the past this thing is excellently detailed. The Cylinder on top can rotate up to simulate the use of a Ranger Key.

1 - Gokai Saber. As has been the case with all the Gokaiger weapons in the past this thing is excellently detailed. Just like the Gun the Saber has a working cylinder system as well.

2 - different replacement Gokai Cylinders. 1 to use with the Gun, 1 to use with the saber. Again to simulate the way a Ranger Key would be used with the weapon. These replacements are molded to appear to have generic ranger keys already in them.

1 - Standard Gokai Christmas Ranger Key. Surprisingly this tiny tiny Key has a nice amount of detail. Just enough black paint applied down the center to complete the split look.

1 - Flipped Gokai Christmas Ranger Key. Though the accessories included don't really allow you to use this key, it can be placed into a Mobirate from one of the other Gokaigers quite easily.

Basically Gokai Christmas is the full package and includes every single accessory you need to recreate it's brief appearance.

Final Thoughts
Though many collector's may feel this release to be superfluous, I love it. The Gokaiger figuarts are still some of the best sentai ones as far as accessories and articulation go. S.H. Figuarts Gokai Christmas is the 7th Gokaiger in my collection and I wouldn't have it any other way. Though he's a couple years old now and a little harder to find, prices haven't gone that crazy on him. If you feel like you might want to own this figure I'd highly recommend it.

I wonder why we never got a Christmas Special for Super Megaforce? I would have loved to see the Christmas Ranger in action.

Gokai Christmas: a simple concept, yet very effective

I just love the fact that there's a Christmas ranger. Holidays would be a cool motif for a season

Really funny. We may be getting an American Ranger key of him despite SMF not having a Christmas special. The morpher still has the sound in it.

Do we really want that though, given how SMF is pretty hated.

The keys aren't half bad. And auto flip too.

Gokai Two-Face

They're literally half the size of the real things. That kills them for me. Titanium Ranger key is awesome because obviously he has no Japanese counterpart, and ive been picking up the specialty translucent keys for fun too. But the BOJ key line is far nicer in my opinion.

The thing that I've always loved about this figure is the helmet. Its fantastic.

Awesome gallery, but i just can't get over the face on him, he looks like he's taunting people.

... Oh, hey, a Toy Box entry involving something I actually know about! :D Now I won't be clueless like I was with Kamen Rider and Kikaider!

I wish this was in Super Megaforce, just because of how absurdly awesome it was. And I'm surprise Bandai didn't release this in America as a Toys R Us exclusive.

Oh man, that would be cool. With Sentai's often issues of having balanced character focus, they could have their focus episodes around their holiday.

This is a gorgeous figure. Very disappointed we didn't get a SMF Christmas episode. I always appreciate the detail that goes in to Figuarts.

It's a shame bandai didn't put this in super megaforce. Just the idea of a Christmas ranger is awesome.

Ah, Bandai/Tamashii Nations, making Figuarts of one-off characters that only appeared for a few seconds/minutes before making Figuarts of main characters... aside from that, this figure is just plain adorkable.

I love Gokai Christmas, so jolly! I've never gotten him though. I'll have to change that, as these pictures show he doubles as a great decoration.

Second Gokai Christmas pulls off his look due to how the base Gokaiger suits have their colors laid out. It's a sweet color combo that hasn't shown up again in the Sentai series. Seeing just how awesome this toy is I wish they would revisit the idea when we a get a show with both red and green Rangers.

You know, for the longest time I thought Gokai Christmas was just a joke, as I haven't gotten to Gokaiger yet. Well, this is certainly a good way to be proven wrong.

I've always wanted this figure. Just for the sheer novelty of it. He looks good and the Christmas theme is fun. Too bad he didn't have any themed accessories too, but still cool. I'll try to get him one day, maybe.

I really like this figure, the concept of a Christmas themed suit is great. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while, it's great that his price has stayed relatively low considering his exclusivity.
