If Super Sentai was dubbed which would you want to see and what would their localized names be?

Dairanger as Star Force.
They even get to keep the "Force" thing they love so much~

seeing how most modern dubs work, they probably wouldn't change any of the names.

but I would love ViZ or Funimation to do the dubbing.

either diaranger or kakuranger


heck i would settle for offical subs of all post zyuranger sentia and if they do well the pre zyuranger

Carranger, because why the fuck not?

NO!

I do NOT want to see those unholy spawns of Satan that were the villains in that show. I was able to tolerate their Turbo versions, but when I saw the Carranger footage, I almost threw an ax at my tv.

I for one want to say YES to Carranger dub.
Seeing everyone get into their Workaholics moments is what made the show awesome.
And while at it, name Kyosuke Larry. :D

Genuine. I like the suits and wonder how much of the original idea of them being a baseball themed sentai remained in the story.

Kakuranger might not work as well with western audiences though because a lot of themes used in the show (Jiraiya as a Nikkeijin, Yokai) are hard to understand without explanation or knowledge of Japanese culture. So the show would lose a lot of it's meaning and charm.

i hear this a lot and i have to disagree. Kakuranger was only the 4th sentai i watched. after Dai, gokaiger and Zyu, and with the exception toku i consume no Japanese media or have a in depth familiarity with the culture.

there was certainly points i'm sure i missed but like most sentais the major themes come across easily enough the culture parts may go slightly over your head but it affecting how much you enjoy the story is minimal. The Yokai's are explained in most episodes anyway and Jiraiya background isn't that uncommon. Sure he is a nikkeijin but basically a outsider arroing in a foreign country isn't that much of a hard story to grasp,

Also GUIS released notes for each episode as they subbed them for this very reason. i didn't read them at all since i just wanted to watch the show and i still enjoyed it.

As said before, there is a slight loss and you don't experience the show like you're intened to enjoy it. I never said it's not gonna work at all.
However, there's some people, me included, if they know everything that's going in and want to enjoy the show in-depth, including analyzing themes used. I read the notes, but knew most of stuff from university because I'm studying Japanese. For me, it was good to have a full picture of what the authors wanted to do with their writing.

If my memory serves me correct, they do have bits in the show where they explain briefly about the yokai's lore so maybe?

Not all of them though. And some of the social aspects could also spark some questions. Though you could research a lot of it. Except for the more obscure Yokai and imagery, I guess.

Yeah they do but thats really really minor stuff they talk about. But aside from that there is alot of cultural aspects in the show that reflect the times Kakuranger aired and not so much the medieval japan aspect.

Thats why if someone wants to watch Kaku I highly suggest to get ahold of the translator nots GUIS did for their releases and read them alongside the episodes. there is alot of interesting stuff going on in that show :D

And some of that stuff could also help understand little cultural things in other tokus as well.
