hard to enjoy a pr series without a toy?
for instance dino charge, im having a hard time liking it because i never had a pr toy since zeo, has anyone ever had this problem?
|
No. I could enjoy PR or any other show/movie for that matter even if I never had any toys from that particular franchise.
|
I've only bought one piece of PR merch in my entire life and that's never kept me from enjoying the shows.
|
I haven't. Mainly because I'm too broke to afford the toys :p

If that were the case i wouldn't be here, i've only ever bought two pieces of toys, a lightspeed rescue figure when i was 3 and a Dino thunder Ranger key pack but i still enjoy watching.
|
Not really. I certainly had the toys when I was younger, but I never used them in tandem with the show, nor was I required to buy them in order to enjoy the show. I just bought the toys because I liked them lol.
|
For me the toys are nice bonuses. The story is what keeps me watching a show and PR is no different. I will reiterate that I really want Dino Charge to be better than the mess that was Megaforce/Super Megaforce.
|
For me, it's hard to enjoy a series without wanting to get toys from it. So the other way around, I guess. To be fair, I got a ton of Ranger Keys during Super Megaforce and I only watched a few episodes.

The toys! The toys! THE TOYS!
. . . I like toys :) |
on a sentai note, i wasnt a big fan of roboknight so i had to buy his gear so i can enjoy him, if i didnt buy it, i would have skipped goseiger. crazy yes but that was my mind set at that time.

Not having any of the merchandise, in no way effects whether or not I enjoy a series, but watching the shows does increase my desire to own merchandise from said show. |
I think that's the same for a good chunk of us. Like wanting a Rider's belt while watching a KR series, or wanting a mecha while watching Sentai/PR.
I don't think very many people will find their enjoyment of a particular series dropping because they don't have a toy... |

I personally while watching a show would want toys, but when its over I don't want the toys as much. Except for Kabuto zecters, and Ryuki.
|
I've only owned four, maybe less, Megazords in my life. A couple figures. And no, having them didn't increase how much I enjoyed a season. And not having them didn't decrease how much I enjoyed one.
|
Only 4? Damn. I've only had 7, but that's because I'm broke as hell :lol
|
I went through a phase where I had to get the main Megazord from every new series, but stopped for a long time... But recently I got the urge again and was able to track down all the main Megazords from all the series from MMPR to now...

what i dont understand is why does power rangers stuff comes out two months before the show starts? i mean if the idea is to watch then buy the toys then why dont they came out when the show starts not two months before? because kids dont know what toys do because they didnt watch the show.
i mean that's the same with when the shogun zords came out two months before they appeared. i thought it was just a us making zord until it aired. |
I can go a series without toys, unless its the current. If its on the shelves, Im tempted to buy. However I can go back and watch past seasons without wanting to get all of its toyline. Except for Jungle Fury. One day I shall own all of it.
|
i think in japan alot of kids seem more interested in the toys before the show starts, i think the show is important but i think the kids getting the toys before the show starts is what motivates kids to watch the show with their toys.
it's not just nininger, it's been this way for years. i wish pr was like that but timing over here is so different. |
