The Next Kamen Rider is ... Kamen Rider Wizard
 

Months and months of speculation have apparently been confirmed as Japanese magazine Terebi-kun has the listing for it's next issue (via 7NetShopping.JP) announcing details of the next Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Wizard!

Details seem to indicate the character will be revealed on June 30th. Chances are there will be some leaks before then, so stay tuned as we await the next Kamen Rider - Kamen Rider Wizard!

How does Wizard fall into the numbering system thus far? (Double, OOO, Fourze)

It'll be a play on the "V" that makes up the "W". Something in the logo I'm sure, as the "V" is the Roman numerical for 5.

Someone on 2ch has posted some info regarding this earlier this morning. Allegedly the rider uses collectible Rings for powers, however his belt is a fingerprint scanner. He uses fire and ice elements, wears a cape, battles monsters in a different dimension. The document features mentioned the boom in Magical Girl stuff from the last year (aka Madoka)

He better wear a goddamn wizard's hat and use a staff.

I'm sad that my first reaction to this being confirmed is to think back to the obnoxious little alien kid from the Phantom Menace tie-in Pepsi commercials from 1999.

"Kamen Riding is WIZARD!!"

God, I effing hated that ad campaign.

Takes place at a Japanese Hogwarts, bring back large "contract" monsters like dragons & ogres & crap. I forsee this series doing quite well

can't say this holds an appeal to me, but we'll see. If I don't like it I can use the oppurtunity to watch OOOs finally.

To me it just sounds weird saying kamen rider wizard. I kind of wish they would have come up with a more creative name, but oh well.

So, if the series bombs the default negative comment regarding Kamen Rider will move from "Its all Decade's fault" to "a Wizard did it."

In all seriousness, if this is real, I want him to cast his spells by contorting his hands into weird martial artsy poses like Doctor Strange.

Well it's a lot better than the painter-themed one that was rumored for a while.

But it's still pretty ridiculous.

And I really don't care how you try to explain it - I won't buy into any "5" theme with it. Just because you can turn a "W" into two "V's" does not mean a damn thing to me. I think making "W" into "Double" was enough of a stretch, but this would just be plain stupid and a blatant misunderstanding of English.

The rest of the series I'll try to reserve judgment on until, most likely, the first clear images show up. But then that led to misconceptions about Fourze, so who knows how it'll turn out?

Painter Rider...? I kind of like that idea, very outside the box. Know what? I'm fanfic-ing it, Yea. Look for it.

Very excited for Kamen Rider Wizard! It will either look seriously cool, or be seriously lame. I want to see a Gandalf-staff as his main weapon. After all, Meteor Storm already employed something similar in Fourze.

Meteor Storm uses a spinning top of death. Don't think TOEI can outdo themselves on "...WTF" weapons.

I'm actually kind of saddened by that. I mean, a macho magical painter who transforms with chess pieces! I even drew concept art- that's how awesome it was.

With a magic theme now, I think it's possible they can come up with something insane. Kind of makes me excited actually, I prefer my Toku to be as strange as possible!

If they bring in a magical giant platypus with a pet walrus, the show just instantly wins.

Is it too much to ask for a Magic Wand Limit Break?
