hey all. I dont know where they found this but over on the morphing grid (aka the power rangers wiki) they had this wonderful picture i just had to show here.

Saban, please stop putting White near Zeo Red. It makes the fact that Tommy appears twice all the more noticable.

This is only my opinion , but this really hammers home how terrible the Go-Go Five / Lightspeed Rescue Suits are compared to everybody else.

I dunno, I still maintain the Lost Galaxy suits are the worst out of all of those.

I think it looks good. Much better than Ginga/Lost Galaxy's :lol

And I think it would've looked better with MMPR and Megaforce up front instead of the White ranger.

I just think it is stupid to have the White Ranger there in the first place. It's like the have on Sesame Street: One of these things just doesn't belong.......

Well, most figure he's just there to represent S2 of MMPR.

Don't worry , im not far behind you in that sentiment. Lost Galaxy is 2nd on that list. More for the suit , not so much the helmet.

I do wish they would use Dragon/Green Ranger if they have to have Tommy on there in one of his more identifiable costumes, but I supposed he did have a longer tenure as White and is considered more recognizable in that.

Was I the only one who was creeped out by the Galactabeasts?

It's the Charlie Brown stripe that gets me.
Honestly, it wasn't until I re-watched the morphing sequence that I realized it was to represent an animal's mouth/teeth (I'm not sure about it in Ginga though).

I like the helmets too. Wild Force pretty much followed how the helmets worked with better costumes, and they looked awesome.

I would also like to point out that Zeo Ranger Tommy apparently cannot come up with his own pose as he just copied Lightspeed Red.

The Goaranger/Wild Force costumes are some of my least favorite ranger suits. I do love the Lost Galaxy suits though. I'd say my least favorite costumes overall were the Jungle Fury ones. Never could really get into those.

Also, the Jungle Fury/Gekiranger costumes are probably the most jarring for some people because they lack the belt to break up the costumes (Or the illusion of breaking up the costumes), making them look like one, long suit. It's easy to be off put by them. I like them because of their rather simple design.

Meh, Saban is just saying that the whites are superior to the reds. It wouldn't be a big celebration if they didn't also celebrate the racism crap that came up during the original series.

Regardless of the indent, I do find that he kinda sticks out like a sore thumb in that pic.

Also is there a bigger version of that out there? I'd love to use it as a wallpaper

I actually REALLY like the Gingaman suits. GoGoV, too, because the design is nice and simple. I don't particularly favor the Gekiranger suit for any reason, but I don't have any problems with it and I think it's a decent design.

I do, however, dislike the GaoRanger costumes for the most part. They're just... I don't know. I feel like the different design elements don't really mesh well.

The Gekiranger suits will always hold a soft spot in my heart for being the first Sentai I watched and enjoyed (I tried Magiranger and Boukenger before, and didn't really enjoy either).
That, and their designs are so different, so simple. I like that.

It isn't really the lack of a belt so much as the odd shape of the helmet and the weird fist/gloves. I LOVE Geki Violet's costume though. That design is a thing of brilliance.

You're joking right? I know we all see the inherent racism of the original series color choices but I'm pretty sure that's long over with and we're over it. Or did you think that Overdrive Black Ranger was African American because the show runners then were also racist?

Ah. I've pointed out the lack of a belt many times to some people and that's usually where they realize why they find it so weird.
Other than the "Nyan" mouths, I don't really find anything odd in the helmets. But considering Sun Vulcan helmets have a bronze eagle/shark/panther jutting out from them, I probably don't know what normal is :lol

You're on a site discussing an almost-20-year-old children's TV show. "Normal" died violently once we ALL signed up AT THE LATEST.

Maybe it's just me but their helmets look tall, like too tall. The lack of a belt is a tiny bit jarring but not terrible. The suits look awesome and streamlined, like what I imagine a good example of a modern sentai costume should look like. But those helmets look so feral and out of place when compared to the rest of the suit. Again the only one that I feel the whole package works for on those costumes is Violet. He's got the right mix of everything going on.

I think its a photoshop job anyway guys, given the Quantum Ranger is missing from it so there's only 19 rangers there.

And I don't remember anything about Operation Overdrive outside of Snow Miser and Heat Miser, and the show being down right dreadful.

Am I the only one who loved Gingaman/Lost Galaxy?

Okay, I admit some of them looked funky in animal form before they burned it away and became zords/mechs.

Only White Rhino. Especailly his Henshin device, what does a giant hand have to do with a Rhino? And the helmet was just.. meh. Geki Violet was the gem of that series. And RJ was the gem of Jungle Fury. Bring him back for Pr's 20th!

... Uh? The original series wasn't racist. I doubt it was a concious decision to make her the Yellow Ranger, or him Black Ranger. They didn't sit around a board room going "You know what'd be really racist?"

Woo, an ally! :thumb: The only thing I didn't like about the Lightspeed Rescue suits, was the Henshin/Morph. When that shield came down over them like liquid? I don't know why but it always bothered me. Otherwise I loved them. Especailly Titanium Ranger.

I don't think so, people are pretty vocal about the suits being awful but most seem to have actually really enjoyed the show itself. From what I've seen, those that didn't enjoy it (myself being one of them), seem to be few and far between.

I know i largely remember Lost Galaxy for being the show where my interest in Rangers started to decline. Maybe it was because it followed my favorite season. Maybe one day i will give it a shot on netflix.

I dig the Megaforce / Gosei suits...Gotta watch that too

I think why some people don't like it, is solely because it followed Space. I admit. When it first came on I was confused. After season after season you get used to the actors carrying on to the next season.. it just stopped. And they started hiring new people. It threw me off. But after you move past that, there's alot to love.

I'll have you know the only Power Rangers series I dislike are Lost Galaxy, Ninja Storm and Operation Overdrive :p

Maybe Turbo as well, but I need to rewatch that before I can judge just how awful it was :lol

I know that. In fact, Tony Oliver and I were talking about that last year when he was at my anime convention. He said they never thought of anything like that until about 12 episodes into when someone pointed it out to them and he said both him and Saban were just shocked and were unsure how to respond to it.

As for myself, I did not think about that until in 2003 when a coworker brought it up and I still had to think about what he was talking about. It's just one of those things that were so stupid and over analyzed that it is fun to make jokes about every now and then.

Honestly, I thought I did, becuase I clicked on the emoticons, but for some reason, it did not appear. This isn't the first time in the last day or so either that has happened.

BTW, I have nothing against the Gingaman suits, but my problem with Lost Galaxy are as follows:

1. The military suits ripped off Starship Troopers.
2. All of the villians were supposed to be killed by the Zordon Wave, so how did the dudes survive? It would have made more sense had they been IN the Lost Galaxy, so they were not affected by it.
3. The show is called LOST GALAXY, but there is nothing lost about the galaxy until the last 6 episodes of the show, and they only spend like 4 of those in the Lost Galaxy. Again, annoying, especially when the only villians they released toys of were the characters that were not even featured UNTIL the last episodes.
4. Bringing back Kendrix at the end copped out on killing her off in the first place. I know why she left the show, but they should have kept her dead.
5. The villians never felt like a threat. It is hard to take a tentacle bug who cannot walk on his own seriously. Not to mention there is no way he could have spawned Trakeena now matter how you look at it.

Now I have never watched every episode to LG, I will when I get the DVD set, but it was not a terrible show. It's just the things I mentioned were a big issue for me. I did love Deviot though, the guy was awesome and I loved the voice they gave him. In fact, I loved his voice so much that when I did finally see Gingaman, I was disappointed by how bland his Japanese voice was. There was nothing robotic about it in Gingaman at all.

Ehh, while the shift was odd, it did make sense. All these heroes had shown their mettle, but it was time for change. If we stuck with the In Space team after they saved the universe, then it would've just gone downhill from there. By changing the team, we got to see new faces, a new red ranger grow, and a new set of stories.
In this regard, I disagree with Linkara entirely (Don't know if you watch HoPR lol) when he states that swapping the team during the halfway point in Turbo was stupid. Tommy and the gang were pretty much approaching the epitome of their tenure. They worked perfectly as a team, they never had any real trouble handling monsters, they were consistent and formulaic. In story, changing was a dumb idea, but from the viewer standpoint, it was boring as all hell and the shift to TJ and the like let us see the Rangers begin again (Something that hadn't happened since MMPR S1, since the swap to Rocky and team was mitigated by the fact that Rocky's group already knew each other and they got along with Billy, Kimberly, and Tommy from the get go).

Never again shall we have a team cooked into a giant pizza, the greatest villain plot ever.
A shame is what it is.

I agree, after all, how can you get more powerful than tears of resurrection? Andros can beat anyone on his own because I bet those tears will kill the living just as much as they bring back the dead.

As for the change of cast in Turbo, sorry, but I hated it. It was random and came out of nowhere. Had Delphia said, "Hey rangers, look, you are getting to the age where you need to move on with your lives, so why don't you start keeping an eye out for valid replacements," it would have worked. But TJ and Cassie just randomly appear, save Tommy, and then, "Hey thanks, you are now rangers." At least Aisha, Adam, and Rocky had a build up to their becoming rangers in Season 2. Hell, even Kimberly's departure was built up throughout a portion of Season 3.

The change was poorly handled, no argument there.
