Hibiki's 10th Anniversary
So 10 years ago today, the first episode of Kamen Rider Hibiki aired. Hibiki is one of the very few Rider shows that I have yet to watch, but I hear the first half is good while the second half is pretty bad. Does anyone have any found memories of Hibiki. I was not watching Hibiki in 2005 since I was not a Rider fan at the time but I knew what Kamen Rider was at the time.

The first 29 episodes of Hibiki are, to me, Kamen Rider at its best: fantastic characters, unique cinematography, great music, and a really cool mythology. It's such a travesty that Toei had to shit all over it.
To be fair, though, 2005 was an amazing year all around for tokusatsu. It was the year of Hibiki, Garo, and Ultraman Max, three of my all-time favorite shows. Just a pity that Sentai was having an off year. |
While I havent watched Hibiki at the time it is kind of an important series to me.
I saw it during a time I really needed guidance in my life and the teachings of Hibiki really helped me through that. So yeah congrats to being awesome Hibiki even when you kinda suck in your last twenty episodes. |

I first saw Hibiki that I didn't know if he was a Kamen Rider or not since he's so different looking. The look as grew on me over the years. It's one of my favorite Rider designs now and I'm happy to own his SHF.

Although I will credit '05 for at least having a few Dekaranger episodes in it. |
Regardless of its end sure was nice.
The Rider fundoshis, the finisher moves, etc etc. And I always felt sorry for Sabaki cause he was always being kicked to the curb by his foes. |
Happy Anniversary Hibiki! I love you and Asumu! :D

I've always dug what little I've seen of it.

I hate that popular opinion. Yeah, after 29 it's not as good, but it's also not entirely garbage like so many people make it out to be. It provides some surprisingly nice character development for several of the characters and in my opinion the series IS worth finishing.

Happy Birthday Hibiki-san!
While I really enjoyed the first half of Hibiki, I was pretty angry at the end. I mean... I've seen worse, but it just wasn't Hibiki anymore. The characters were too different for my taste and the totally screwed up the message the show had been working on. :( Last but not least, let's all remember the lovely Miyuki Kanbe, who has passed away 3 years after she was in Hibiki *sniff* |
Happy anniversary/birthday Hibiki!!

I still need to get around to watching Hibiki. Are there any subs for it that don't suck? TV-Nihon's are terrible.

Hibiki and Blade are probably the two Heisei series most desperately in need of new subs. Which is why, of course, TVN has decided to redo Kabuto. :rolleyes |
Honestly, I could not get into Hibiki at all when it first aired. I gave up on it around episode 15. It wasn't until I rewatched it a few years back that I truly fell in love with it (s first 30 episodes).
As for Blade needing new subs, hopefully the upcoming BD releases will inspire some group to sub the show. |
