Power rangers acting terrible?
 

Why must the fans ALWAYS have to say that the acting in power rangers is terrible? Why why WHY!?

Is it because they don't seem to fit in reality and everything is all "cheesy"!?

Actually, with this new season atleast, no one is saying that. And it's not always. I saw it start in earnest when Samurai started. So it's just been Neo-Saban.

The older seasons had some awful acting too. I find the acting in MMPR painful to sit through these days. For a kids show, I don't expect anything award winning but effort can always be put into acting. Dino Charge's acting is decent so far. I thought Time Force had decent acting too IMO.

While there are genuinely terrible actors, you have to take in multiple accounts.
Look at bad movies that get A-List actors and see how they manage to turn in terrible performances.

Sometimes a decent actor can just be screwed over by the script they're given.
Personally, I want to give the Neo-Saban era actors the benefit of the doubt that the writers just turn in horrid scripts and they're not all that bad.

I thought Power Rangers were a good thing.

MMPR's acting was horrible (Though some did get better as time went on). It was jaw dropping when I rewatched it :lol

There are still just bad actors altogether out there.

Sorry, I felt the acting from Mighty Morphin to Wild Force was great!

Jungle Fury, Overdrive, Mystic Force & Samurai & Megaforce was terrible!

The acting was great from Zeo to Wild Force. Especially Wild Force.
(I do agree that it did go down the heel from either SPD or Jungle Fury though.)

I'm sorry but no. Wild Force was the worst attempt of acting I have ever seen in my entire life to the point it was damned near unwatchable.

I agree that Wild Force had terrible acting. Calling the acting in MMPR great is laughable in my opinion. Even for a kids show in the 90's, the acting was terrible.

Maybe it was the last time I watched it (a long time ago), but some time ago, I remember it being decent at the least. :lol

No one era has perfect acting. The old Saban era had wacky acting, so did Disney and so does our current era.

That's a given.
But what series had a greater amount of bad actors?

Going off of memory, MMPR, Ninja Storm, SPD, and Mystic Force come to mind.

Hmm... MMPR, Megaforce/Super Megaforce, Operation Overdrive, and... Ninja Storm.

MMPR wasn't that bad. Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed, Time Force, Wild Force & Ninja Storm are good too.

Dino Thunder.... a bit. Still Tommy would've followed a bit of Asuka's path in gaining a love life.

SPD to Jungle Fury, Samurai & Megaforce. Ugghhh!!!!

Sorry, I'm sticking up for the casts of SPD and Jungle Fury (well, most of this one). Those crews did a solid job and gave fairly consistent performances. For me, these two series have some of the more memorable rangers (Doggie, Bridge, RJ) and it's not just because how they were written, but how the actors brought them to life.

Hell yeah! I did love the cast of SPD. Heck, SPD is my favorite Power R angers series! I did love the characters and performance and the whole season. Jungle Fury was a season that I didn't like at first glance because... Gekiranger is just stunning and godly. But, after watching the series seriously, I came to love the characters especially Casey, RJ and the Yellow Ranger. Both are great seasons and both have good, if not great acting.

Thank god no one said anything bad about RPM yet.

For SPD I felt that the cast was pretty solid. I enjoyed Jack and Bridge's acting, while Sky and Z could use some work, but they weren't terrible (Definitely nowhere near the bottom of PR's list of bad actors). Doggie's VA was also really great.
I haven't seen enough of JF to judge.

Right now, the only series with genuinely bad acting that I can agree with are MMPR and Ninja Storm (And even then, they had either bad actors with a lot of personality for me to still enjoy (Like Zach) or good actors who just kind of got shafted (Like Cam).

That's actually why I haven't gotten past the first 3 or 4 episodes. Not because I think it's bad, but because I want to remove the unfair bias I have. I want to see Jungle Fury for what it is, but I'm having a hard time because I'm too attached to Gekiranger :lol

I actually fucking despised RPM the first time I saw it. It was horrible in my eyes and no one could change that. However my girlfriend forced me to watch it with her over again and so we watched about six episodes. I was immediately hoocked unexpectedly. The characters were amazing... well... at least the main three: Scott, Flynn, and Summer. I hated the hell out of Ziggy and Dillion. More so Ziggy. His acting definitely was stale and his jokes were just poor and he annoyed the hell out of me when he kept trying to act cool. My only problem with Dillion is his attitude and how he acted like a bad boy.

There. Now I said something bad about RPM. :p

I know, I know. It's definitely hard to watch Jungle Fury because Gekiranger left such an impact on you. But you gotta try and watch it all one day. :lol

The last couple seasons we have had bad to okay actors. But this one episode shows the whole cast (so far) can act.

Now for acting on other seasons, most of these actors/actresses? This is their first job, or major one. So we shouldnt expect Hollywood level acting regardless. But the whole cast in Jungle Fury, aside from Dom really brought their characters to life.

Really? I thought Jarrod was AWFUL. Wasn't a huge fan of Lily either but I know I'm in the minority there.

I didnt like that guy either. He never felt as menacing as he should have in alot of the episodes.

I was okay with the rangers but I gotta say I enjoyed RJ alot more before he became a ranger.

Disney seemed to manage to land pretty good actors but Saban has pretty consistently got terrible actors all round. Dino Charge seems to show a little more promise but these young actors seem to always put in a better shift when they get actual characters to play.

I say that the first half of saban power rangers and Disney era had good actors that made me believe they were actually in that situation. Now the actors are bad well samurai and dino charge are decent because they have characters to play. While mega force just had bad acting and over acting by all of the actors.

I liked those of Mighty Morphin to SPD. Mystic Force-Megaforce grew cheesy. Except RPM almost but I didn't like how the gold & silver rangers are.

While RPM was a good show, I did thought the acting did got pretty hammy for the most part.
