The Season you Thought was Better than Sentai
 

Not me. The series Super Sentai.

You should never compare Power Rangers to Super Sentai. They're meant to be two separate universes. That's what Power Rangers should be, it's own unique thing. But I'm wondering if you watched a season of Super Sentai and then later watched the season of Power Rangers that used the footage, and thought that the PR season was better than the Sentai season. That used the motif, suits, weapons, zords, footage, better than the original.

So which season, or seasons, did that for you?

SPD. Simple.

I personally thought that dino thunder was better than abaranger and that SPD was better than dekaranger. I say dinothunder because it had a more serious outlook and mezagog just looked cool to me. I also liked that the white ranger didn't die. I say spd because of two reasons one being jack wasn't a total jackass all the time and actually was a leader and the a squad vs b squad fight. Badassery at it's best.

Out of everything I've seen In Space is definitely better than Megaranger. I love Mega to death, and I love In Space to death, but Space is just better on pretty much all cylinders. And that's kinda the only one I can comment on since everything else I've seen beginning to end Sentai wise is better than the PR counterpart.

I will say though that while Timeranger is good from what I've seen, I prefer Timeforce much more. So whenever I finish Timeranger maybe then I'll add Timeforce to that list.

So far I'm liking Dino Charge far better than Kyoryuger, but that's not all that had since (unpopular opinion I know) I personally can't stand Kyoryuger.

I'd say RPM, but I actively avoid Go-Onger like the plague, so I can't fairly judge that.

But I will totally rep Mystic Force over Magiranger. Mystic Force isn't great, but I think it's better than a lot of people give it credit for. It's certainly much better than Magiranger, which is one of the most unbearably awful Sentai series I've ever seen de gozarimasu desu.

Right now I want to say Dino Charge but I'll hold off on that until its actually FINISHED.

Instead, I'll give the point to Jungle Fury.

In general, I find the majority of the Saban Entertainment seasons to be just as enjoyable as the Sentai counterparts, the majority of the Disney seasons to be way better than the Sentai counterparts, and the majority of the Saban Brand seasons to be way worse than the Sentai counterparts. There's exceptions to all, like Alien Rangers being bad compared to Kakuranger, Overdrive being awful, and Dino Charge being good. That's just the general pattern for me.

But... but... Gekiranger? :lolol

Can't you just like em both like I do with Time Force and Timeranger? :)

I'd have to say Lightspeed Rescue.

But in general, I end up liking both for varying, and often different reasons. Can't really put it into words though. Eh.

In Space over Megaranger, definitely.

I end up liking both Sentai and power rangers the only real dislike towards a Power Ranger counterpart was Super Megaforce. They did not do Gokaiger any justice at all. Just simple copy and paste with english Voice overs that was not done right.

Megaforce on it's own was decently good but no where near as horrendous as Super Megaforce.

So yea everything aside from Super Megaforce I fairly enjoyed both Sentai and Power Ranger counter part.

But... I don't feel the same way about Jungle Fury like I do for Gekiranger. :o :lol

I say RPM for now. I don't mind comparing Sentai and Power Rangers together since Power Rangers is adaption of Super Sentai. They have different characters and stories most of the time but it does not hurt to compare them. Comic book movies always tend to be different from their source material and fans still compare them with each other.

I'm gonna have to go with RPM, i never really finished Goonger but i love almost everything about RPM.

I like turbo more then car ranger. In space as well is better mega. Lost as well. I like rpm but I can't say I like it better then Go-on why cause go-on is my first sentai and I love it to bits.

- Magiranger
- Boukenger
- Gekiranger
- Go-Onger
- Gokaiger

Goseiger & Shinkenger were a disappointment. Including Go-Busters.

SPD is the first that comes to mind.

I haven't seen every season, but Zeo and SPD were better than their Sentai versions.

Zeo is better because despite its lack of a true ending, it has better character development and the King for a Day storyline was awesome.

SPD is better than Deka because it had a central villain and an over arching plot throughout the entire thing. I just wish the guns and stuff hadn't been dumbed down to lasers and then Bayplosions.

RPM, no contest there.

So far, I'm liking "Dino Charge" better than "Kyoryuger." They focus on all of the Rangers instead of just the Red, Sledge actually has a personality unlike Chaos, and they seem to actually be giving the Red and Pink Rangers proper ship tease instead of just a last-minute hookup.

I'm down with this post.

Has to be RPM over Go-Onger.

Honestly, they're about dead even for me.

Agreed though I could only get through 2 or 3 episodes of Go-On.
Dino Charge is looking to possibly be better but that remains to be seen.

i can pick. one i enjoy go-onger alot more then i did RPM granted i did watch RPM and ejoyed it but still preffered Go-onger i prefered the anime styling with mecha and like that they talked and every thing. it not just cause Go-onger my first sentai far from it. i just loved the story more

I would also say RPM, but I never watched "Engine Sentai Go-Onger." I also heard that "Lost Galaxy" was better than the Sentai to the point where even the Japanese considered it superior.

Dino Charge over Kyoryuger.

Time Force over Timeranger. I love both versions just about equally but Time Force offered just a tiny bit more in the character department and the upbeat nature most of the characters had was a much needed help that makes Timeranger sadly much hard to sit through at times. Sorry Timeranger, I love you but the US beat you by just a hair in my books.

There are the usual ones ... RPM over Go-onger, etc.

But you know, I'm only a few episodes in, and maybe this doesn't make complete sense, but perhaps Mystic Force over Magiranger.

No way , mystic force butchered magirangers. Magirangers was great (even if the red ranger was annoying) , the villains were fantastic.

I think in terms of execution, Magiranger is undoubtedly better. Mystic Force's main weakness (at least in the first third or so of the episodes I've seen) is a little lack of polish.

The thing is, I found it difficult to like Magiranger's cast. I've watched all the episodes, and I enjoyed it, but if you ask me to name a favourite Ranger I'll say Houka and that's it. Maybe Wolzard, too. The Magirangers worked well as a group (as they should, considering the family theme), but individually I didn't find them very interesting.

Mystic Force's cast isn't spectacular, but I find them more fun to watch. I really like Xander, and the rest have personality quirks that do shine occasionally. Yes, Vida's actress is not that great, but even she has her fun moments.

Magiranger did many things great. It established a terrific theme around courage, had wonderful music, amazing suit, weapon and mecha designs, and its villains were threatening and powerful. But I just didn't warm up to the cast, and that hampered the show a little bit.

Mystic Force does most of those things a little poorer, but has a stronger cast, in my opinion. That doesn't make it a better show, but that does make me like it better.

Plus, Mystic Force really rocks the whole B-movie fantasy thing, which I appreciate. :p

I really thought Mystic Force was going to be a terrible show, given most of the comments on it, but so far I'm enjoying it.

I kind of prefer MMPR over Zyuranger.

Alright, I outright prefer MMPR S1 over Zyuranger. I give Zyu credit for having Bandora be a much more entertaining villain, but the rangers themselves are just so... plain, whereas the MMPR cast gradually grew fleshed out as time went on. Plus I found MMPR's plots to be more enjoyable than Zyu's.

Lightspeed Rescue perhaps? GogoV is awesome, don't get me wrong.
But Titanium/Ryan really was cool to see.

I will happily agree with you on that. Mystic Force has a lot of issues, but Magiranger was awful de gozarimasu desu.

Jungle Fury, and Samurai.
