Joe Odagiri (Kuuga) loses a Son
 

We have sad news to report today. Joe Odagiri, better known to us as Godai from the first Heisei Rider Kamen Rider Kuuga, and his wife actress Yuu Kashi, have lost their one year old son.

Thoughts and Prayers from an entire Toku Community for the horror they must be going through right now.

Oh damn that's really sad :(

I know he's not a huge fan of Kamen Rider and is rather tired of his role, but I hope he knows his fans support him and his family with their thoughts, he's not alone. It's a heavy blow to take, I pray he and his wife get better eventually.

I knew I shouldn't have looked into it because it would make me said but as I looked into it his son died of intestinal complications.

My wishes go out to him, no one should have to go through this :(

I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts and pray to the Gods that his son rests in peace.

I haven't seen Kamen Rider Kuuga, but I know its terrible to lose a child. Send him my prayers from a newbie Toku fan.

This to me seems like an incredibly inappropriate thing to post. It almost seems like you're making light of it by posting an image like that. Dude lost his child, man.

i have never watched Kuuga, but he has my deepest sympathies.

I initially thought the same thing, but people express sadness differently. And this topic is not about the definition of what's appropriate or not.

If Matrix decides to show sympathy with something he loves, I see nothing wrong with it.

my heart goes out to him and his family, losing a loved one is a tough thing to go through, I can't imagine the pain of losing a child.
I wouldn't wish this kind of thing on someone I hate, much less the new hero, the new legend.

That is really sad to hear.

It always breaks my heart when I hear about a family losing such a young child, it's just the idea of having that little bundle of joy for such a short time and having it taken away from you, I can't even begin to imagine the pain they're going through.

They have my condolences and I hope them all the best through this time :(

Always sad to see children die.

I was so shocked to hear that news. It's always so sad to lose someone, especially a child and especially a child at that age. All my condolences to him and his family and especially the older son, because losing a sibling at such a young age must be a horrible experience :(

You know what is the saddest part about this tragically news, His son never get a chance to know his father was Kamen Rider and he would love Kamen Rider show.

You are entitled to your opinion. Personally, and I know I speak for a lot of other people, the fact that a one year old was taken, that Joe and Yuu lost their son, far outweighs the fact he played a character for one season of what is essentially a hokey children's show. A child has died. A one year old child who'll never know life, never know falling in love, never know anything. And I don't think you, or anyone else, should be focused on the fact he was a Kamen Rider in this situation. It's insensitive.

But that, like your post was yours, is my opinion.

Mr. Odagiri as Godai protected our similes. Hopefully we can return the favor and protect his in this tragic loss.

I feel so bad for them, losing a child I can't imagine how painful that is for the parents. They have my condolences and I hope they will be alright from this. This is just heartbreaking.
