E3 2015
Since it's about a week away, it's time to put up a dedicated place for speculation, information, or all sorts of other random bullshit! Maybe exchange Skype IDs or something and watch E3 together (I'll be at computer summer course thing during E3 so I'll watch but maybe not interact as much.) ?
This year we have a lot of E3 Conferences: Bethesda, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, Sony, Nintendo, Square Enix and a PC gaming show (oddly). That's a lot of announcements for what is hopefully some actual next-gen games and none of this cross-gen, HD remaster bull. I could care less about Bethesda, EA and the PC gaming show since none of those games interest me. Everyone is gonna overhype Fallout 4, EA is gonna show Titanfall 2 and annualize it unfortunatly and PC gaming is just be a bunch of indie games that I'll buy on sale on consoles later. Hopefully Sony doesn't get arrogant this time about the success of the PS4 like they did last year and show why the PS4 is worth it. |
*Hopes for some good Fighting games announced*
|
You do bring up a valid point about Sony Powerman.
They can't really be arrogant anymore about their products. E3 2015 is going to be the put up or shut up year for them and I'm sure SF5's getting a major push from both themselves and Capcom as well. Nintendo I think is going to be a wild card. Everyone knows that SSB4 DLC is on their minds but what else do they have planed? Perhaps more of Yoshi's Wooly World or Fire Emblem if? Mario Maker may be one game that could secure a win for them depending on what is revealed and how gamers will benefit from it. Square Enix needs to have more of a game plan that PS4 FF7. That's all I'm saying on that. I've gone over the bulletpoints I wanted to make here. Now it's just a matter of playing the waiting game and see how E3 plays out this year. |

I'm hoping we get confirmation on Ryu being Smash DLC.

This is what I hope to see:
New innovative IPs that are going to revolutionize this gaming generation. Red Dead 3 or GTAVI. LA Noire 2. A new Onimusha game. Uncharted 4 gameplay. The GTA PS2 trilogy coming to PS4 using the PC versions. A Metroid game for both 3DS and Wii U. A new Twisted Metal. Zelda Wii U gameplay footage. All of the big 3 conferences are exciting and engaging. MS finally shows games that make their console a must buy. Nintendo announces they have bought MegaMan from Capcom. Konami apologizes for their behavior and makes Kojima CEO and Square says they are going to focus on making games over interactive movies. Oh, and then they announce a PS4 exclusive remake of Final Fantasy VI (6). Deus Ex Mankind Divided gameplay. A remake of Resident Evil 2 done in the same style as REmake, along with a physical release of the PS4 version to said REmake. What I expect to see: More sequels to the games we are tired of like Assassin's Creed 7, 8, 9, Watch_Dogs 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, Battlefield, and God of War 4. Boring talk about numbers. Talk about new features and gimmicks that we do not care about (such as Playstation Now and Occulus Rift). Movie services. |
Some actual footage and info of Mass Effect 4 would be nice.
I also wouldn't mind getting a solid release date for Xenoblade X |

And fixed that for you.:p |
What I'm expecting to see:
Doom (Doom 4) Fallout 4 Halo 5 New Starfox gameplay footage and trailer for the Wii U New Zelda gameplay footage and trailer for the Wii U Ridge Racer 8 (Namco Bandai has a racing game listed for the PS4, XO and PC) Resident Evil 7 Star Wars: Battlefront Street Fighter 5 Tekken 7 Uncharted 4 Xenoblade Chronicles X dated for NA/EU What I wish for: Borderlands 3 Crysis 1-3 collection on the PS4 and XO Dino Crisis 4, Onimusha 5 or Devil May Cry 5 from Capcom Kingdom Hearts 3 info MediEvil 3 announced Mirror’s Edge 2 New Hitman game announced for the PS4, XO and PC New Splinter Cell game announced for the PS4, XO and PC Elder Scrolls HD collection on the PS4 and XO Soulcalibur 6 Kombat Pack Season 2 for Mortal Kombat X with Spawn as a guest fighter (due to popular demand) |

And there is nothing to fix. Nearly everyone is sick of AC, CoD, GoW, and BF. |
Destroy All Humans died after the second game. THQ ruined the franchise after Pandemic Studios got bought by EA aka the Satan of video game companies. Path of the Furon was a huge letdown to me.

The fact that all these games still make millions says otherwise.:lol |
Halo 5: Guardians, new Gears of War, Fallout 4, Doom 4 (hopefully), Star Wars Battlefront, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This years E3 is going to be good! :D

Pokemon Z
More stuff about Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon Pokemon Perfect Diamond and Precious Pearl F-Zero GX-2/AX-2 Super Smash Bros 4 character/stage DLC I care about nothing more. |

There was one on the Wii as well and it was horrible.

Other than that, i agree with this list. |
Backwards compatibility.
A Firefight successor for Halo 5. Mods for Fallout on Xbox. Microsoft conference has been pretty sweet so far! |
I'm failing to see why everyone's going apeshit over backwards compatibility, really.
But I am interested in Recore, I'll keep my eye on that. |

But again, I just don't get why people are so excited that they can play last year's games again. Especially considering that people who have an X one most likely have a 360 laying around if it hasn't red ringed by now. It's just not THAT exciting/ground breaking of a feature....especially considering that the games will be digital only. |
Lots of people enjoy revisiting their older games.
Lots of people don't want to go through the trouble of digging out their older console and rehooking it up to their TV just for one game. Backwards compatibility is a convenience that many enjoy, since not every gamer is someone who lives in the "Now." |
Overall, the conference started out really well and then petered out in the end. There were quite a few great looking game trailers and the gameplay or Tomb Raider looks great. Unfortunately, Peter Moore and the Hololens thing really put a brake on the flow of the conference. In the end though, it was a pretty solid conference as they did show a lot of games and there would be a few I would get if they ever get ported to the PS4. I hope Sony is able to be at least as good as MS tonight because they need to be strong. The biggest downfall though is so far there has yet to be a new AAA IP that is like, "OMG, I MUST PLAY THAT GAME NOW!!"

I hope Sony will announced that we can have downloadable PS1 and PS2 games like the PS3 did.
|
I'm not really paying attention to E3, but I am beyond thrilled to hear about the Xbone getting backwards compatibility. I have a lot of 360 games - both disc and digital - that I'd love to have access to on the XB1 (especially the digitial ones, since the 360's online will inevitably go dark at some point).
|
I want to see some PS4 backwards compatibility already.
|
When backwards compatibility is the best feature you can add to a console to drum up attention after a year, you're NOT doing well...

The conferences to EA and Ubisoft were pretty awful. They were full of sequels and online only games, which means nothing to me. I hope Sony has something that is going to wow me.

the next South Park needs like, plenty of Big Gay Al appearances.
like, I expect 3 musical numbers AND I'm Super. |
