Fun fact, Miserlou originated in the Eastern Mediterranean/Levant and means "Egyptian Girl" in Greek, which it borrows from Turkish which IN TURN borrows from the Arabic word for Egypt.

This episode was great, but also sad since Kinji left. I thought it was funny how Kinji was still using American time. I want to know more about Kinji's past now after seeing that wolf yokai in the illusion. I also loved how they finally did a role call with all six together.

Seems that way. He never seemed to gel with the others so Star might turn out to be a Sixth Ranger Traitor.

Interesting. I read this episode as confirmation that Star did gel with the rest of the crew and wouldn't be turning traitor.

I mean, it seems unlikely that he'll be gone forever, especially considering that Surfermaru makes an appearance next episode. (Sidenote: Surfermaru lead to one of the strangest, most unconventional mech battles I've ever seen in Sentai. It is ridiculous and very, very cool.)

Either way, I do believe that StarNinger is going to provide (and has already provided) some unique storytelling... even if I never quite came around to liking him as a character.

That time zone joke was the highlight of the episode for me. I have to say it.

A very polarizing episode. It started out really good and then went downhill.

I liked the teamwork stuff and Surfermaru but Star's plot of defeating them felt really stupid to me, this conclusion included. Yes, it was sort-of different, but it just didn't seem to work. Somebody really needs to start questioning the authority of their grandfather at some point.

The other thng I don't get is he comes to realize that he is easily swayed. The rangers tell him he needs to work on not being so. That is why the grandfather won't train him. And yet, he just leaves because the grandfather tells him to because his time is up. WTF? He just did what they spent a good portion of the episode on telling him he needed to not do.

Well, it's taken 17 episodes to realize one absolute fact.

Grandpa is an ass.

While I'm not truly serious about that, I just have to wonder why even if you won't take on someone who has worked so hard on their own to gain as much strength as your own descendents as a student, you wouldn't just be complimentary enough to allow for him to join at the school anyway. Seriously gramps, take a chill pill. Just because your last student turned into a stone cold fox (literally) doesn't mean they all will.
