Are you enjoying Ninninger?
 

I was just curious how are you guys enjoying Ninninger so far? I'm loving it a lot right now and AoNinger and StarNinger are my favorites. So what are you liking or not liking right now?

Some episodes I've really enjoyed (last week's and the Dad episode particularly), but on the whole it's been my least favourite Sentai show I've watched weekly by far. Other than Takeru being really annoying I don't really know what about it doesn't click with me either. It has great action, but none of the characters really do much for me at all.

i enjoyed ressha but never finished it. i started nininger ut dropped it i dunno why it ant crasped saying that toku has not grabbed for while.

I enjoy it for exactly what it is; a fun, colorful, kids' show about ninjas. It is all over the place at times, but still fun.

I'm still watching it and I like it. It's not the best show ever or anything but it's fun.

I really enjoy it, except for one or two episodes so far. While it's far from being an amazing season, it's overall pretty fun to watch and I really like the humor. I'm also pretty happy with the cast, they're all a pretty likeable bunch. While the story isn't the greatest of all time, it is pretty neat for someone who has never written a full series on his own. And I really like the way the characters often have focus together, so they're learning their lessons from each other instead of from random people as it was in most other seasons.

No, it sucks. Well, it has a few good moments, but overall, it is just a generic boring series to watch. At least it is better than Drive...

Another issue I have is that the rangers don't have to earn anything, they are just handed what they need to win on a silver platter. The last episode I watched was the Nue one where he broke their swords, and the lion dude told them they need to learn how to not rely on their abilities to beat a monster before he will allow the balcksmith to fix them, but the kid went and did it off screen and gave them their repaired weapons 5 minutes later. They didn't have to learn jack ****.

I love the series sense it started and my favorite characters have to be takaharu and starninger. Also I love the chants for all the mechs mostly lion ha oh, paonmaru/shurikenjin paon, and my favorite Rodeomaru!

I need to catch up on a couple episodes, but overall I enjoy it. Its a fun sentai and I like the ninja theme and the mix of practical and special effects.

Have you seen episodes 25 onward? They really make up for the first half and feel like a season two to the show.

No I gave up on this show a long time ago. None of these villains feel like a threat. The base must be the cheapest thing ever, for the villains. The overall feel/tone of the show just feels "off". The cast is annoying, they all feel like generic cardboard cut outs. The one thing I did like about it were the suits. They all look really cool, but ended up going with a shit show.

I can understand this, this is the main beef I had with my rewatch of MMPR, Megaforce, and Super Megaforce. Like they didn't get it right the first time and then they are given exactly what they need the second time.

And this is the problem when you have only seen the first episode when it's a two-parter... Lionoh was pretty pissed at the boy for helping them out so easily and the point of the second episode was that Takaharu realized both his own strength and weaknesses and those of his team members. He had to realize of how their team structure works and the boy repaired the sword so that Takaharu could watch the others fight and come to those conclusions. Ultimately, Takaharu got the upgrade for realizing all of this and giving Lionoh a reason to join them.
Yes, it was not a lesson for the full team, but it was apparently never intended as such.

Two parter or not, it is still a problem with this show consistenly. They got Surfer Maru without having to earn him. They got UFO Maru without having to earn him.

MrHeroFan, no, I have not watched anything of Drive past 22 episodes because that was 7+ hours I spent on the show and was bored. I shouldn't have to spend that much time just to get to the good stuff when I can and rewatch Gaim or Blade, which were great right from the get go. Granted, I may decide to continue Drive, just because I am a masochist, but I'm going to wait until the show is nearly done.

I think Kamen Rider is boring. I have given a few seasons a shot but can never get passed the eighth episode. But that is just my opinion.

they established early on that the ninja allies and special attack shuriken would change when they've gotten stronger, not learn a lesson.

there have been episodes where they learn lessons and the shuriken they have don't change. they're being consistent.

You put that much time into it, and are so close to when it supposedly gets better. Maybe it'll make the time at least somewhat worth it?

Anyways, yes, i'm very much enjoying Ninninger. I don't really care about specifics when it comes to Sentai, but I enjoy the overall feel of the show. The increased focus on practical effects vs past seasons helps a lot

It's not a bad show. I haven't watch it in a while since it got kinda boring.

Eh, Its an alright show. I like it better than Toqger, which is a below average sentai in my opinion, but compared to something barely decent like Goseiger or Gokaiger, its not great.
Its alright, but that's it. Right now its only a 6 out of 10

I'd enjoy it more if TVN would just release the subbed eps on DDL faster, lol.

So I saw the second part and my opinion still stands. Yes, Taka learned that they are all at their best when they work as a team. So let's put that to fruition by giving him Carnival Mode 2.0 and having him take on the monster all by himself for the rest of the episode. WTF? They just undermined their entire message.

he learned his lesson, he gets a reward. pretty straightforward.

and it's Sentai, you gotta give the brick a chance to fight on it's own so the kids will want to buy it.

Haha, I know...I know...just a bit antsy is all lol. :p It's been a pretty darn good series thus far and it's been a couple weeks since the last release, I'm real anxious to see what's next. Got tons of respect to the peeps that sub these Tokusatsu, lots of love for them for sure...

I don't hate it, it's certainly a step up from ToQger, but I have little motivation to continue watching it each week.

(Bearing in mind that I'm a good 8 episodes behind now) I think a lot of what they've been focusing on has just been handled badly and while I'm not one to complain about the "red focus", the guy that plays him is a distractingly bad actor. It seems like the show has already decided that he's going to be the "Last Ninja" and that we should all be supporting him in it, despite being giving no reason to do so. He doesn't have the charisma of Daigo and he doesn't have the skill or responsibility of Takeru.

My favourite episode so far has been the one that focused on Fuuka and Nagi having to juggle their ninja identities with their school and social lives. It showed some real character insight that the rest of the series has completely lacked.

Yeah, I think ToqGer at least knew how to have fun with itself.

I think my problem with Nininger is that it tried to introduced way too many toys early on...

NinNinger is so much better than ToQGer. NinNinger has fun characters, villains, and overall storytelling than ToQGer.

they had a really interesting events then the main 5 who i could never take seriously"must be the idea of kids in adult's body dos not click with me"

See, I completely disagree. ToQger did ALL of those things better than Ninninger is.

Better storytelling than ToQGer? What has Ninninger offered in the department of storytelling? Last Ninja? I'm sure it will be:
A.) Takaharu
B.) All of them
C.) None of them
ToQGer is an average story to me. Ninninger lacks the story to me. Everything seems to move at the speed of Power Rangers. Zords come and go like Power Rangers, Gold came at the same time the usual 6th ranger for PR, villains seem to be there until Gengetsu comes. It has the same problems as Kyoryuger but magnified. Don't get me wrong I like Ninninger, but i think it has problems.

What show doesn't have its faults or flaws?

I wish they would stop with the filler and get back to the story.

I'm digging Ninninger more often than not these days, especially with the arrival of Ariake no Kata (voiced by the ever-amazing Kotono Mitsuishi). Ninninger's a comedy, and that can be alienating with Sentai fans, but I'm mostly into it so far. It's not without its quirks, but it's amiable enough.

But yeah. It's definitely time for the story to kick into gear. Hoping we'll get some juicy plot after the Great Western Youkai arc.

I just enjoy the characters and the story progression right now. I loved the stories of Kinji becoming a student of their Grandfather and trying to assassinate them too. It was hilarious. I loved one of the new episodes with Nagi developing more too. Yakumo is one of my favorite Blues (I love too many of them lol) and I love all the characters and even Takaharu too. Kyoryuger is one of my favorite Sentais and even though it had flaws it was magnificent. The only thing ToQGer was doing better at this current point than NinNinGer is the villains had the better story.

I like the episodic nature of Ninninger right now it gives the show this kinda laid back feeling I can enjoy. Just putting on an episode when I prepare dinner just to get some laughs or two and watch the great action scenes. Its the kind of comfort food Tokusatsu you get sometimes that I dont think is a bad thing but something a lot of fans have problems with.

But yeah the story should get going later on especially when we get closer to Kibaoni Gengetsu being fully revived. I would also like the Werewolf Yokai to stay longer than the other two because he was already teased earlier in the show and is extremely important for Kinjis character arc.
