Local Heroes of Japan Assemble! Movie "Nihon Local Hero Daikessen"
So here is something that is not the typical Toei, Toho or Tsubaraya stuff.
After a successful crowdfunding campaign, a movie that is going to feature local heroes of Japan will be released November 14th. The title is Nihon Local Hero Daikessen(translates as Japan Local Hero Great Battle) and will have various local heroes(called 'gotochi hero' in Japan) on the silver screen. Below are the heroes that will participate: http://movie.yatsurugi.net/img/hero_map7.gif According to the site, the theme of the movie is [friendship] and is aiming to make an action movie where heroes will join forces and defeat evil. Details of the heroes and about the film can be found on this site: http://movie.yatsurugi.net/ |
While this looks cool, I doubt it'll be very good. I know these companies can work miracles with effects, but a lot of these local heroes are just custom cosplayers going around doing good deeds. Like a few people do here in the US. So my question is, what will the plot be for the movie?

If this doesn't turn out to be the Japanese Mystery Men, I'm going to be sorely disappointed.

Oh hot damn yes!
|
No matter how it turns out, it's definitely a heartwarming project.
|
Looks cool. Hope it gets subbed
|
This sounds really fun. Even if there aren't subs I'd definitely check out the raw.

Wow, that guy from Hokkaido looks so much like Riderman.

This is really cool, and a great idea for a movie. I've always liked the local hero concept.

They're going to mess it up. They always do. I used to work for Yatsurugi company (the people headlining this movie) here in Tokyo.
The boss of the comapany told me himself, and I quote unquote "I don't even like Tokusatsu"... So yes, the movie will suck because there is no heart in it. Not only that, but the work condidtions for Yatsurugi Company were that of a sweatshop and I had to deal with all sorts of racism from the staff and cast. I could rant on all day about it, but you should just read this article that Japanator did on me instead. Skip to the Gaion part: Japanator Bueno Interview: The Real Side of Toku |
This seems like it's going to bad.

The whole idea makes me smile. I hope it's good.
