The time has come at last to learn the secret of the Global Freeze...

Last 10 minutes...was an emotional roller coaster. This officially is becoming my favorite rider show purely because of the villains. And... Chase is finally making the moves haha

Before you explode and write tons of text again vin13ish, this will be a joke that is played in the beginning 5 minutes of the next episode and once Chase learns what love really means he'll stop it and it will never be mentioned again.

I'm honestly surprised they even go this far with it, I fully expected Chase to say that he wants a pet at the end of this episode.

Wow, that went to a dark place. Never thought I'd feel sympathy for Heart, but what Banno did to her is pretty messed up, especially with her empty "I did it all for Heart..." echoes. Banno is definitely stepping up as a big, credible threat. I may still not find him that engaging as a character, but as a driver of the plot he's doing a pretty awesome job. At this point I'm really curious to see where the show goes and how it resolves the the stories of Heart, Medic, and Brain.

That last sentence is something that I would be absolutely flabbergasted to see myself type six months ago. I'm really impressed by how much the villains have grown in the last block of episodes, Heart in particular. But now even Medic is having engaging story beats and, god help me, I'm actually looking forward to what Brain is going to do next.

Why couldn't Drive have been this good from the start? I'm always going to look back on the first half of the show as such a waste now, probably even more than I would if it had never improved.

Which only makes me believe more that Toei meddled with the show early on and the producer just not knowing what to do under such an environment.

Sanjo, Hasegawa and Komura probably had to fight a lot to be able to do the things we got now.

I strongly suspect there was an editorial mandate when the show started to be as lighthearted and silly as possible following the doom and gloom of late-series Gaim. Drive still has some of its over-the-top slapstick, wacky camera angles, and aggressively hammy acting, but its happening less often and is now allowing room for some actual drama.

I totally forgive the start of the series, if anything, that bit of meh makes all this have a much stronger impact. This was a fantastic episode for Medic and for once, yes...Brain has my total interest. These are some of the best developed villains since W I think.

Heart continues to be a cool guy, Brain continues to be a coward (but is shaping up to be a pretty decent guy himself), Banno continues to be an irredeemable asshole, and the show actually made me feel sympathy for Medic of all characters.

Drive's latter half has been absolutely fantastic and like others are saying, I'm sure Toei meddled with the show in the beginning to put out a lighter show than Gaim.

Is it really different than the other times? As far as it concernes me, it's always usually using the first 10-20 episodes for showing the "toys", than the show evolves in the second half. Many KR shows have this pattern

Maybe she will, maybe she won't. I can't confirm anything, it's just my experience with these type of shows that this will be played for awkwardness in the next episode because no one really told Chase what love actually is, everyone just told him stupid stuff like love is when your tummy's feeling strange.

But the show could prove me wrong.

Come on! If Chase end up with Kiriko. Their son, Eiji will not born!

Even Eiji describe his mother "She never use to smile a lot but she smile when she is glad" meaning that his mother might be Kiriko

That's the solution to your problem vin13ish, not only one Roidmude/Human pairing, but two! :lol

But thats not what we meant with executive meddling. Yes KR shows focus heavily on the toys in those episodes but thats just a normal thing for these shows. What we where talking about was just that the first 25 episodes or so of Drive where pretty terribly written and full with unbearable comedy that ruined the little bit of drama the show had going for it.
Compared to especially Double where the same writers had much more creative control to do what they wanted Drive just felt much more controlled by the studio instead of the writers and producer.

But did Banno erase Medic's personality so she could be her puppets and Heart is apparently force to work with a man that he hates the most while Brain is in run from him.

I find it ironic that the Roidmudes want to destroy humanity because they see themselves as the next evolution, and yet the very humanity that they absorbed when taking human forms is causing them to become less and less like villains.

Great turnaround for this show since episode 20.

I have noticed that our Roidmudes are becoming more sympatric while Banno has become more monstrous; moreso now that he's Gold Drive. Fitting how in the end a human is the true monster of the show.

Also this is bugging me but is anyone weirded out over Shou being a dog? It makes sense but I sure didn't see that coming.

In a way I'm kinda sad to see Drive go after episode 48. I find it's middle of the road (ha ha, Galva made a highway pun) but it's charming in its own way.

Well, that's called a Character development.

I feel bad for Heart, Not only he was tortured by his own creator but his own creator erase the personality of woman that he loves the most, Medic. Heart is the tragic villain

Finally, Brain finally come to his sense! Not only he witness Banno killing Roidmudes but for the first time, he feel ashamed of himself for what happen to Medic after Banno make her his puppet

As for Medic, not only she was sweet roidmude who was corrupt by an emotion that turn her into evil but she loves Heart the most! She actually have crush on him but Banno erase her personality to make her puppet and become Heart's crushing blow.

Wow! Riku Sanjo did put lot of effort for villain's character development.

Will Heart found the way to get Medic back before her demise? Maybe ;)
