Kamen Rider Drive Episode 43- "When Will The Second Global Freeze Occur?" Discussion
The Roimude endgame is almost at hand! Can our heroes put a stop to it?
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams are at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
I really like this time of year: when the show is out of toys to sell and can just focus on characters and story. Drive is continuing to finally put some aggressive work into developing the villains and it's really paying off - I was actually invested in Brain's actions for the first time ever and Banno is rapidly turning into a great antagonist. I'm really curious to see where Banno and Heart's relationship goes. There has to be some kind of breaking point where Heart can't hold back anymore and I look forward to seeing that happen.
I know I've always been down on Drive's humor, but I honestly loved Chase and Shinnosuke's conversation about Kiriko, slapstick and all. The echo of it with Gou was also pretty amusing. |

What I love most about Banno right now is not even his character but his suit actor. He doesnt move often but when he does its in this really smooth and pretty menacing way. He manages to make this character really expressive just by the positioning of his arms. |
Meh... another episode down, another step further for this show to finally end.
So boring. As expected the whole love thing was used for a tedious first half of the episode, it was dumb and useless. And it will be even more useless if they never refer to this situation again, which could very well happen since shit seems to get serious now with the second Global Freeze and all. Nothing really great on the action front either... oh well, it's over soon. |

I also do not agree with you in any way as the episode was both interesting, had some good comedy and overall well done shots, characters are developing greatly and while he is a villain, Heart is becoming more and more sympathetic as the show moves on. If you are so negative to the series, then why are you watching it ? Watching something you do not enjoy for an entire season seems extremely pointless. |
I can't believe how they've almost totally eschewed Gen as the comic foil to his being a capable commander. I'm sure there will be moments, but still.
The entire Chase/Shinnosuke/Kiriko triangle of left turns was actually amusing. I think Gou's reaction though was priceless, classic spit take. Banno really is a total jerkwad aint he? I just want to see him get the Gaim squishy treatment, or Rider kicked into the sun, or something awesome. He's managed to make me feel really bad for Brain, Medic, and Heart, regardless of their own machinations. I know the primary actors have already received their bouquets. I'm almost sad. Not as much as Gaim, but for all the flopping around in the comedy, there have been a lot of good dynamic stories from the series. It didn't feel as protagonist story heavy as Gaim, or wishy washy as Wizard. |

Any way I enjoyed this episode, especially the new dynamics the Roidmudes have. Also I want a Banno Driver, with the ability to become Gold Drive. Seriously I don't dont know what I like so much about the suit but I love it. Also demand figures for each of the Roidmudes. |

This is a forum - it's about discussion. I'm free to voice my opinion whenever I want to. But fine, I'll not comment on Drive again... seems like some people get upset if I don't like the stuff they like. |

Even if you don't like Drive, saying the first half is LESS BORING than the second half? That's something that... I can't even begin to understand. It's so backwards that it boggles my mind. It just seems like you're watching a different show than the rest of us. Either that, or you're going into it bitter and expecting to hate it. |
I'm finally caught up enough to actually post in the current discussion thread. I know, I'm surprised too. I'm very easily distracted.
You started hating them, now you hope they join forces with Drive, Chase, and Mach and beat the living hell out of Banno. Every week he just.. You know what he's like? The people who would come into your roleplay chatroom (Back when those existed on AOL) with some uber-OP character that somehow had an answer for whatever your character did or tried. That's Banno. Whatever they try he has an answer and you just throw your hands up in disgust. But on to the episode. The best parts of which were Chase telling everyone he's in love with Kiriko. Especially when he dropped the bomb on Gou xD The worst part was Banno. I fucking hate that guy. |

If its really that hard for you to read what he has to say ignore it and dont tell him to just keep his mouth shut. |
Okay, because people won't stop (but thanks Convoy, much appreciated): I don't hate Drive. I'm just not entertained by it currently. I fully acknowledge that is a good show that got even better later on, but I don't get into it anymore. I try every week because I want to finish the show, this episode didn’t give me anything at all, so I wrote down what I thought about it, exactly like I thought about it.
Could I have written it down more thoughtfully? Yeah, and maybe I should have. But I didn’t want to. Now that this is out of they way, could we please return to the point this topic actually exist for, talking about the episode? Because at this point I'm really annoyed with this and I won't answer to anything off-topic in here anymore. |

I didn't want him to stop voicing those opinions at all. I just tried to fish for something more constructive. I'd like to know where he's coming from. I WANT to understand. But for that to happen, I needed more than just off-the-wall statements without proper support. Why to people always assume conjuring up any kind of debate is always negative? |

He even posted a better reasoning after wards so in the end there was something to actually talk about. Pretty sure none of us told him to shut up either, it just comes down to how he voiced his opinion in the first place, it was difficult to understand it, and I fail to see why we are harassing him in any way for just talking with him.... |
Everyone is allowed to their own opinion. You are allowed challenging them on that opinion. As they are allowed to challenge yours. The problems start, as they started here, when that goes from good-natured debate to vitriol and worse. So I'm just going to remind everyone to be respectful. None of us come on this website to be attacked. We come to share and talk about our various toku fandoms. He's given his opinion, people have given theirs, it's time to move on and continue the discussion about the episode itself.
|
In the end, the discussion here evolved to a point where the original problem was completely resolved, and it had just become about whether or not the whole thing was right or wrong. You're completely right... This really is the internet.

Why I have a feeling that Shinnosuke is blaming on himself for let Kiriko hurt badly.
It would be very bad if Kiriko will end up in a same path like Hayase A broken partner :( |
Vin13ish. You are the hero this thread deserves. :lolol
|
This was an awkward episode. The scene with Chase and Shinnosuke and Chase and Go. Overalls it was pretty boring, except for when 004 came. I guess they're just saving the excitement Kent for the end.
|
So everyone on this thread HATE Banno? I guess they hate him for not care about his kid and love to torture his own creation.
I disapprove of Chase and Kiriko's "romantic" relationship. He's not human, He's Roidmude. Roidmude are never getting old like normal human. And plus he cannot give baby to Kiriko. |

Heart is a much better villain and I wish he would be the final boss. Banno could still appear in the story since his character is important for the past and the creations of the Roidmudes, but that should've been it. They could've included his AI in the tablet, just so they can have the development for Gou, but since he jumped out of the thing and became Gold Drive he's nothing but a boring waste of time. Quote:

And Chase could just scan some older dudes form time to time. Which brings the question up: They never explained on what human Chase's cover is based. We've seen the human counterparts of Heart, Brain & Medic and most other Roidmudes, but nothing for Chase. Before Gou was revealed as Banno's son I always suspected that Chase's human counterpart was either Banno's or Krim's son and the first Roidmude was created to bring him back to live after an accident or something. Kinda like Astro Boy. But since Gou is Banno's child and Krim told us he never had family I'm afraid they just forgot about this and never mention Chase's human counterpart. Quote:

He's Roidmude! Roidmude are android/mutant! You want a 65 years old Kiriko dating Chase who still look young?! This is madness! Why everyone wanting Chase end up with Kiriko?! |

I think Shinnosuke and Kiriko have more developed relationship than Chase and Kiriko
Kiriko only worship Chase because he was proto-drive who save her Everyone knows that Shinnosuke will end up with Kiriko! Heck! He and Chase says that they're in love with her but it up to Kiriko to make a choice to pick her man! I don't think Banno could be final villain as Heart or 004/Fake Krim could be final villain Even though he no longer attacking Chase, Gou still considered him as "Not Buddy" and disapprove Chase's feeling toward Kiriko but he will finally considered Chase as his buddy at the end, I hope! :) So Krim Steinbelt is a bachelor? Does Bachelor means that he was a womanizer? He says he never have a family! |
Okay, yep, my brain melted when we reached 'Roidmude babies'.
I had a really weird thought. What would happen if the Trideron was driven to 120 KPH, and then Shinnosuke henshined into Type Trideron? That would be just insane enough to take out Gold Drive. Vin13ish, considering Krim Steinbelt's human form looks like a Japanese Robert Downey Jr., it's entirely possible. However in the westernized version of a bachelor, it just means he wasn't attached to anyone. Probably more married to his work. Which in this case, is truly irony. Kiriko's relationship with Shinnosuke is more in depth than Chase's purely based on how much comfort she gains from Shinnosuke than from Chase. Chase was her rescuer, and she felt an obligation to save him when he did the same for her. But Shinnosuke is the one she kicks in the butt out of devotion. Also, we all know Gou and Chase are gonna ride off Butch and Sundance style. |
this episode kept the momentum, but felt kinda filler...nothing really happened. Was nice to see the past of Brain though. Using 004 was a neat way to bring Krim's actor to the screen more though.
|
I like Krim's Actor, I felt like if he wasn't Mr. Belt-San, he would've been really good as a Human Mentor to Drive, instead of ya know being a Belt.

Just says he's Howard Stern of Japan. His scheduling conflict with his radio show could prevent his character from being a human mentor And plus, His actor is too famous to appear the show as himself a lot but have a limited appearance as human. |
