seems Kyuemon is male. Or at least, began life as a human male.

That has to be a misunderstanding, she clearly has a female name and voice. Or it is some female evil spirit possesses human male body deal or something, but why would they do that?

Either way, if it isn’t a misunderstanding Sentai needs to rework his Waifu-list. Or not... if he's into that kind of thing.

Actually, from what I've picked up on the internet here and there from Japanese speakers it's been suggested Kyuemon could be male right from the start.

Like the whole Luckyuro thing in Kyoryuger.

But aside from the fact that she has a female VA and a female name, isn’t she directly addressed as the handmaiden of the big evil boss? Okay, that could be a gender-neutral description in Japanese, but the subs displayed it as the female version so... eh.

I don't even know why I'm so invested in this, I don't even watch this show, but I guess it's because this is just so stupid.

This could be multiple things. Like the boy being posessed by a spirit or Kyuuemon just pretending to be a boy. And if he turned into a yokai and got those attributes it could also work.

We had it in past toku shows where one of the monsters is presented as male/female but is supposed to be the other gender. Redyue comes to mind who had a male voice and no female attributes to her looks but was considered a female.

Sure it's TV-Nihon discussing it but their penchant to pay as close attention to the Japanese as possible was why I didn't immediately think to discard the thought. The character always struck me as female too.

Of course the alternate explanation is this is just another example of Heroshock getting completely the wrong end of the stick. It wouldn't be the first time.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm very interested in the two new ninjas dropping in at some point. Might we be getting at least one more Ninninger?

Also a secondary army? I wonder causes Kyuemon to branch out from the first army?

A new purple Ninninger maybe?

I highly doubt we will get any new proper Ninningers out of it. If that would happen we would have known about it by now through Toy catalogues.

So here is what I can make out from the scans:

Kousaka Kikyo is from the Ise School of Ninjutsu and teaches children ninja techniques.
Ise Kiroku is Kikyo's teacher and runs a tight ship when it comes to teaching the way of the ninja. And as we can see is set up to be a rival of sorts for Takaharu.

Kyuemon was Yoshitaka's pupil and also studied the Igasaki School of Ninjutsu along with Tsumuji aka Ninja dad.
Here are some highlights noted on one of the scans:

1. As we all know, was a pupil of the Igasaki School of Ninjutsu.

2. Kyuemon knew Tsumuji was not fit to be a ninja, so set him up with 'something'.

3. While looking to break Kibaoni's seal, Kyuemon raided the Igasaki dojo and stole the hammer.

4. After stealing the hammer, it was Kyuemon that revived the Kibaoni army.

5. Later, Kyuemon met Yoshitaka and tried to play mind games with him and shake him up.

6. During the battle with the Ninningers, Kyuemon even tried to invite Kinji/Starninger as a pupil.

7. Kyuemon is looking for the Izayoi School's Core Hagurumas(gears).

8. Tried to give Kinji Yokai powers.

9. Has mustered a personal army. Four henchmen that Kyuemon summons from scrolls are Hayabusa(falcon) the swiftest of the four(and can also make those who are struck by his shurikens go berserk), Kuroari(black ant) who can latch on to others and control them, Ikkakusai(rhinoceros) who determines the fight based on the roll of a ninja dice, Mujina(badger) who can steal the talents of others and also create clones, and finally, Karakuri Kyubi, Kyuemon's otomonin said to be stronger than Shurikenjin.
From the looks of it, the Izayoi School seems like it was very shady to begin with(think the Sith).
Kyuemon also has personal genin from the Izayoi School called Supparage.

We already knew that though.

Hmmm.... read what I could. Dear goddess my French is horrible. I don't see any possible new Sentai. If there are any it'll be for like an episode or two. We'll see.

All of this sound like Ninninger is going to get better looking forward to it.

StarNinger Chozetsu's helmet looks like Go-On Gold's helmet and they're both gold rangers.
