Doubutsu Sentai Jyuuouger (Zyuuohger?) Trademark Revealed!
 

It looks like 2016's 40th Anniversary Sentai series is officially titled:

Doubutsu Sentai Jyuuouger
動物戦隊ジュウオウジャー

The implication is that this will be an animal themed sentai. Time will tell exactly what direction that goes in though.


** Note. There actually has been a previous Doubutsu Sentai before, from the Go-Busters V Go-Busters V-Cinema. An alternate reality version of the team with an overt animal theme was called the Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters.

Awesome! I was hoping for another wild animal theme Sentai show. The last one we had was Gekiranger. So it's been a while since enough time has pass since 2007 and 2016.

imo it sounds better than bugs and space.

Might skip this season's merchandise to catch up on some other stuff, though.

I actually haven't seen Gaoranger or Busters Returns, so I'll be watching this.

I'm thinking it's more like Animal Squad Beast King Ranger (jyu-ou-ger).

I watched GoBusters returns and was wishing the entire season was like that. Maybe that just means I should watch more old-timey Sentai.

I hope we can get a crossover with Gaoranger, Gekiranger and Jyuouger. We had a dinosaur theme crossover and ninja theme crossover. So anything is possible.

Yeah, you're right. I was really over complicating it, I'll use the excuse that I woke up about 30 minutes ago.

I've never really been big on the animal themed seasons, hopefully this show can break that and I can look forward to Sentai again. Ninnin and ToQ haven't really done much for me.

An animal theme is probably a good way to tie-in elements from previous years though.

It's not early at all. We've been getting the trademarks around early September a lot in the past few years.

Not really. Late September is when the trademarks are usually revealed. Ninninger was kind of late last year, having not been processed until late October.

UPDATE: Looks like this might be fake, as the trademark number isn't showing up in the usual, official Japanese trademark databases!

After Kyoryuger and Ninninger, I kinda expected another recycled theme, although I'd suspected they'd go for cars again. If I hadn't enjoyed Kyoryuger so much, I might well be worried.

Most likely cars wasnt even an option because of Drive. They might be different shows but having the two major toylines be about the same thing two years in a row might bore the kids more than it excites them to buy the toys.

Yeah since I don't think we will see a engine theme Sentai for a while. Maybe in 2017 or 2018 at the earliest. Drive just ended, so the show is still very fresh in people's minds.

Yeah thats most likely the same reason why we didnt have a real Power Animal show for so long. Kamen Rider OOO did pretty much all the Power Animals imaginable and the line was so huge that Bandai more than likely wasnt ready yet to do another one like that.

Feels like Gaoranger all over again.

For almost every show the designs are leaked through toy scans. Those should show up some time around december.

Although we've had some animal themes in the past, I'm still fine with it because the animal themes have always been my favorites. I still wouldn't mind if this is fake too.

A part of me still hopes that this is not fake despite my search to verify the patent id on the image so far has not given me anything to tell me this is legit.
Maybe I should look and see if there are other patent searchers when I get the time.

I was hoping for vehicles. But I'm down for an animal theme again. Long as the damned theme makes sense and it's just a bunch of random things thrown together for no reason because ninjas and their legendary use of dump trucks.

Proper Romanization appears to be "Zyuohger." Pending confirmation on that part.

I had wondered if it was a Zyu sound. Based on recent years that seemed like the smart bet.

Someone on Deviantart had Dino Charge as a name for some fanfic stuff before Dino Charge was officially announced.

Guys there was no damn way in the world that the trademark bot twitter account is wrong. Questioning that in itself was silly. Those posts cant be faked. That account auto posts trademarks in real time. So there was never doubt in my mind it was real.
