Possible Improvements for the Taisen series
 

Correct if I'm wrong, but from what I've gathered a lot of us have...complaints with the way the Taisen movies are produced.

My main one being that both of the last two were mainly Rider focused, with the Sentai part being basically an afterthought.

Since we've been having a bunch of "What would you like" posts up recently, I thought this particular topic should be approached.

What do you guys want in the Super Hero Taisen films, or what do you think would make them better, if you take issue with how they are now?

I'd like them to have at least more than one Sentai team appear, even if it's just suit actors (not like all the Riders are always played by their people).

I think something more like Super Hero Taisen Z would be great. Actually incorporate more of the Sentai. The part where they started switching up powers between OOO and Gokaiger, Fourze utilizing switched on the Go-Buster mecha, that's what I want to see more of. More swapping and interaction.

Actually incorporate the sentai or stop calling them "super hero taisens".

But first I want "Super Sentai Taisen feat. Kamen Rider Ghost".

I kinda wish that the Super Sentai would be left out of the movies. Just a normal Kamen Rider war movie with no Super Sentai and other toku heroes would be nice.

I think it would help if they stop sticking in every rider each time and just focus on a small group of them at a time so that they can focused around the main rider at the time, I mean they sort of do that but just don't bring in everyone all at once so we can get more focused stuff with the people there.

None of the "I'm pretending to be a dick so I can get the jump on the enemy" nonsense. It's a stupid plot point that always pisses me off.

I feel the Taisen first and second movies were the best because it involve a few important people like Gokai Red and Decade. The Taisen movie need to go back to doing just that it would make them better. The last one that came out was garbage they threw a brunch of riders and only one sentai team what was the point of having sentai in it when they call it Taisen and sentai does not play a big part in the movie. Also I could not agree more WE MUST GET A NEW WRITER tired of the same shit writer.

Just don't do them.

Is it even Super Hero Taisen anymore? The last two felt like just another Rider movie that just happened to give you Super Sentai as dessert. :lolol
That is what they need to fix right there, figure out whether or not if they are even making something that covers all superheroes within the Toei Universe.

To be fair, the Heisei vs Showa one was actually called "Kamen Rider Taisen" rather than "Super Hero Taisen", it was just part of the same series as films. So while the Super Sentai element was shoehorned in, they weren't really getting the shaft so to speak.

But then GP for some reason went back to calling the actual film Super Hero Taisen.

But the real answer to the thread is: Do a Kikaider, Kikaider 01, Zubat and Inazuman team-up one.

Two things:

Either take the Springbreak Sentai/Rider crossover, expand upon it, and have that be the movie.

OR

Just have like a team of whatever riders or rangers you can get back and just focus on them.

Just do this:

On the Rider side you have: Ghost, Specter, and whoever the fuck is willing to come back.

On the Sentai side, just bring in Space Cowger or whatever the hell next year's team is, and bring in....I dunno, Daigo? Just do that.

Have at least the new Inzazuman in it, and maybe the new Kikaider (Gavan Type-G's first movies wasn't great, but the other Space Sheriff films last year I think saved people's interest).

Unless Kikaider REBOOT ever gets a sequel of some sort, he'd need to be a pretty prominent player in the story since his own film ends with him dying and no-one being skilled enough at the moment to repair him.

REBOOT had a lot of plot points it was obviously going to expand in future films but probably never will now :(

Not only are they bad, they also tend to be boring.

Parts of me hopes for a Kamen Rider x Ultraman film for Spring 2016 since it's the 45th and 50th anniversary of both series and Bandai has the toy rights for both shows. However I doubt Tsuburaya Productions would want to work with Toei any time soon.

I say have a bit more past actor cameo's like if Gaim or Decade or even freaking ryuki comes along as a major part in the story or is just a way to motivate someone have their original show actors comeback. I wanna see the original guy who played ryotaro back because he was one funny guy! Bring back the original ryotaro dangit!

He doesn't want to come back though.

I don't know I just fed up with these boring ass movies it ALWAYS ABOUT SHOCKER and I just don't see anything new coming from them.

They desperately need a different writer. The same guy does these every year and it's really obvious that he just takes last year's plot and changes the dialogue around based on who's in the cast this time.

I'm in the "I hope they stop making them" camp.

Riders are like ninjas: the more you have in one place, the less effective they are. Same holds for Sentai teams, I think.

Closest I'd get to wanting to see a multi-Rider film at this point would be if they did something deliberately thematic, like Ghost/Hibiki. Even then... yeah. New Rider. I'm still mildly traumatized by how much I hated Super Hero Taisen Z. (Although I recently re-watched the original, and mostly enjoyed it.)

Even better, have Robotack and Kabutack and all the other metal heroes on board.

A new writer could be helpful, though I've enjoyed all these movies a lot (even with the minor issues of Super Butt Hurt DiEnd and The Showa Rider Hypocrites.) Anyways I think Super Hero Taisen Z was one of my favorites.

Um, from what I remember, that's not the case. Takeru Satoh loved playing Ryotaro, but then he made it big, and now Toei can't afford his agency anymore.
Z was definitely the most well put-together of the SHT films, if only because it didn't have an excuse of "let's have these two groups of good guys fight".

Not to mention that he gives a fuck about the characters he's writing about (like what he did with the Blade and Drive casts. God, I still haven't forgiven him for the Blade world in Decade and here he goes AGAIN!) and is in generally not very good at his job. Aka he might be an adult professional screenwriter but his plots sound like that of a 14 year old fanfiction author.

Well, but in that case it actually made at least some sense. There were disasters and crimes happening because magic gates appeared everywhere- so naturally, the space sheriffs suspected magic users- of course it was a bit random to just mention Haruto and Nitoh, but other Sheriffs might have been after other mages too.
Gavan stopped attacking Wizard, because he trusted him- they kinda worked together after GokaiSilver joined them. Sharivan, on the other hand, didn't know Haruto or Nitoh and still suspected them, which is why he kept attacking them.
