Kamen Rider Ghost Q2 Catalog Details
1 Attachment(s)
Ghosts' upgraded form (picture attached) is known as "Tokon Boost." It comes with a new weapon, the "Sunglaslasher-" a sword based on glasses that can hold two Eyecons.
A THIRD Rider (not fully revealed at time of writing) will be joining the fight- Kamen Rider Necrom! |
Interesting. Not bad but looks bleh for an upgrade
|
Not digging it. Mostly because I feel like looking at a Sentai-show when I look at these images.
|
Not really feeling it at the moment. Have to see better pictures before I can fully judge it.
|
That looks kick ass! I love it. Much better than Deadheat (Well I mean for Shinnosuke) for the first upgrade form.
|
Man, these forms look awesome. So is Boost still Ore, but upgraded? Since there are pics of Ryoma's and Goemon, I guess they'll be appearing before Himiko, Sanzo, and Grimm. The glasses on the Sunglasslasher look horrible. I can't say anything about Necromancer since there was nothing really revealed about him.
|
So anyone else realize that the Boost base body was under neath the two new changes?
|
Personally, it feels like it could be on par with either Hibiki Kurenai or Fang Joker.
Or to a certain extent, Dead Heat. By the way, Tokon is Japanese for Fighting Spirit. |

Kamen Rider Necrom looks pretty badass in my opinion. Can't wait to see him in action.

There is a silhouette of Necrom going around that looks pretty awesome just from what can be seen.
|
Boost looks like angry red Ore, the machine hoodie combination is pretty cool, if a bit strange, and it's got a funny name hoodieni. The Sunglasslasher isn't very interesting even if it can turn into a gun(look at the figures accessories), I prefer the Gan Gun Saber and hope that it gets more upgrades as the series goes on. Though I do think it's awesome that we FINALLY get a figure with a flip down hoodie. The new Damashiis look pretty weak though, Ryouma's cool, if a bit bulky, but Goemon is not my favorite, dont really like that kabuki stuff :/.

Here's Houdini form! I like how his face has chains on it. It's obviously a combination of Specter and the Machine Hoodie. The second pic is the Megaurouder. You can see how the Eyecon goes inside it and the Necrom Eyecon itself. It's black and green and you can see the N on it also. The Eyecon lays on its back inside it. The design looks like a record player and the iris is the record. Grimm and Sanzo will be Necrom's Damashii. Some mor info on Boost: Ryoma and Goemon can only be used by Boost. They both have the Boost Transient form. |
The awesome thing about Houdini is it allows Specter to combine with the Machine Hoodie for an armored form. Love that.
|
I can dig it.
Boost is pretty cool, I like the design style behind it (a flaming hardcore upgrade of the base form), but the exucution isn't too spectacular. I think I'd like it better if some of the red on the Transient moved to his actual parka. I love the Eyecon though. I always like when upgraded forms get different versions of the trinket, such as Shift Tridoron or N S Magnet. The Sunglasslasher is fugly. Too red and then the Ghost-Driver-colored handle clashes with the rest of it like the Titanic and that iceberg. Very interesting how Goemon and Ryoma are exclusively upgrades of the upgrade. Not sure which is which but I like the blue one better. Despite the Banana Arms head. I'm starting to worry that they're running out of interesting eyecon faces, too. Goemon and Ryoma's faces look like variations on designs they already did, like Robin Hood. Reserving judgment on Necrom, but from the silhouette he kind of looks like a blocky sort of bruiser design, like Zolda or Masked Thebee. Houdini is AWESOME. I love the whole idea of the famous escape artist transforming from Specter's bike, and the design in general with the chain face and VTOL wheel wings. |
Those the best pictures we have of them?
|
Enjoying Megaurouder and the eyedrop motif. Hoping it to have learned a lesson from the Mach Driver Honoh in terms of functionality. Liking the green of it too, I usually associate the color green with the number 3.
|
I like it.
Boost is pretty cool. I like that it clearly is just an Ore upgrade, and I think the Eyecon looks sick. The Sunglass Slasher isn't as rad as I was hoping it to be, but the two-Eyecon gimmick is kinda cool. I love love love that Ghost has so many form changes that even the upgrade gets form changes. Hilarious. I like what we can see of Goemon, especially the way the red and the light green contrast against each other. Ryoma meanwhile is a strong contender for one of my favorite Damashii that we have seen. Love the colors, love the face design, love the hood design. It looks fantastic. Grimm and Sanzo are Necrom's! Ha! I knew it. They look stupid. Why do they have the same face. Why does this same face look like it's the same face Necrom already has in his Necrom Damashii. Seriously, why. At least the hoods look really interesting based on those silhouettes. And: worth noting: Himiko has the Boost horn. So she is a Boost Damashii as well. Three alternate forms for the early-season upgrade already? It's like Jimber Arms but less awful. Can't tell what my feelings on the Meaguruoda are until we see it better, but that looks like a really cumbersome thing to wear on your arm tbh. Houdini looks kinda cool actually, though I gotta say I dislike that this means out of his meager four forms, two of Specter's are blue. Not ideal. Liking what I'm seeing, though, overall. Quote:
But eh, yeah...Grimm and Sanzo don't even get their own faces and Himiko is a girl Ore. Kinda meh on that respect... |

Boost getting its own Damashii changes raised an eyebrow at first, but I see why they did it; What's the point of a different undersuit in the GC line if said undersuit has no other Damashii it can wear canonically? They must have learned from AC Jimber and Kachidoki Arms. Quote:

I didn't mean it looks uninteresting, but that it looks like a rehash of Robin Hood. Goemon's just looks uncreative in general. Similar to Specter to say something more specific (Specter's looks really cool though). |
Well, the Sunglasslasher reminds me of that Go-Busters sunglasses power up thingy. And it looks cool, in a dumb, goofy way.
Necrom's device looks kinda cool, but pretty thick to be a wrist thing. Or maybe I'm just looking at it wrong. Houdini combining Spectre and the Machine Hoodie is awesome. Or pretty much every level. Boost Ghost... eh. Let me watch more of normal Ghost first and I'll tell you how I feel about this guy. |
Wow. Ghost just continues to impress. Tokon Boost looks amazing, and the the Sunglasslasher having a slot for two Eyecons is brilliant. I also love that the weapon is sunglasses to go along with the Boost form being bright like the sun or fire. That attention to detail slays me. I don't know if I like Boost having 2 of its own great Eyecons, but the Eyecons and parkas themselves look awesome.
Specter Houdini Damashii is a great idea that doesn't look that great in toy form. Love the chain design and Machine Houdi being water themed makes sense now. It will look better on tv, but the DX just looks too cluttered for my tastes. Looking forward to a review on that. I'm also curious to see what the parka ghost looks like away from Specter's body considering it's part motorcycle. Bummed out that we don't see Necrom here, but I expected this to happen. Still weird to me that they show off his gear, but not the rider. What I do like is that he is my favorite color green, and he appears to have a single horn like Ghost. Interesting. That attention to detail is back in the way the Eyecons are loaded into the brace. Face up so the dropper can release into the pupil. That's just smart. The fact that the assumed antagonist uses a eye dropper based device is brilliant in its own right. Not a fan of his Eyecons appearing to have the same face logo, and the lack of black on them takes away from them a little for me. With names like Grimm and Sanzo, those face logos could've been really cool, but we didn't get that here. I get the black not being there though. Keeps Necrom different, and story wise could be explained by the eye drops washing away the darkness or something. Overall, Ghost is getting highmarks in the toy and design aspect. Hoping the show itself lives up to this standard. I forgot about Himiko! Gotta love the pink eyecon. It looks like it belongs to Ghost so there goes our female rider hopes, but still a cool looking eyecon. |

Boost actually has 3 Eyecons, though; Himiko is his as well. Anyway, weird thing about Necrom Eyecons: so they do all have the same face, but the design surrounding the face is different. Sanzo's looks like fire, Necrom's is mostly smooth, Grimm is...something. It's still not ideal, but slightly better than just having all three look the same. |

Both the Sunglasslasher and the Megaloader (it's just easier to spell :p) seem pretty unwieldy to me.
I guess this explains why Grimm and Sanzo are sparkly and different than the others; they're Necrom's. Honestly with the 15 separated among three Riders now, I'm not so sure Takeru's 99 days will be up by the third quarter, actually. It could go from "eyeball hunt" to "Rider wars" pretty easily. Not to mention, maybe he gets some of his eyes stolen by the other two between now and then. Also, anyone figured out what the Goemon and Himiko mask designs are supposed to be? |

I don't think anyone can really tell with Himiko, hers being the only Eyecon without a good quality scan right now. |

Looks like if Momotaros possessed Ghost.
|
Considering the fact that we've been getting Riders somewhere in the last half/quarter of the show lately, I wouldn't be surprised if another Rider came along later and even further complicated the whole "15 eyecons in 99 days" thing.

I wasn't too sold at first, but the more I look at it the more I'm liking it. The whole "on fire" design is pretty cool looking. Can't wait to see more of Necrom, the wrist mounted henshin device sounds neat.

Here's Boost's transformation phrase:
"Tokon Kaigan! Go! Fuai! Fuai! Fuai! Fuai! Boost! Ore ga Boost, Furuitatsu Ghost! GO! GO! GO! GO!" |
