NYCC 2015 - Q&A with Bandai America
Our own Sentai Tamashii sat down with Greg Mitchell from Bandai America for some questions and answers based on what you fans asked us on our Twitter as well as some of our own questions.
NOTE: We paid attention to what they answered for other sites and did our best not to ask duplicate questions. Poisandra and Ranger Key questions had been asked a ton, so we did not ask those. http://news.tokunation.com/2015/10/1...-america-29541 |
One sound that the communicator could (hopefully) include is the oft-forgotten three-note "offline" noise. Would definitely make more sense the MMPR theme again lol
EDIT: In case you are unfamiliar or have forgotten - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yTSOXSuT94&feature=youtu.be&t=7m5s @ 7:05 |
Complete punt in the pricing issue
They don't have an answer other than because we can until we can't No way they should be commanding SOC prices for legacy stuff |
theres absolutely no reason why the Falconzord should be $80, electronics or not. Thats flat out highway robbery especially given many collectors will want 2 or even 3
|
You didn't ask them, but what is their official line on why I'm being denied a poisondra figure.
Hold on, I'm laughing at "We don't want fans to go broke, especially with the Legacy line" |
Sucks that the questions I wanted answered the most either had vague and dodgy answers.
Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait. |
Here's just a thought of mine of the Legacy pricing... Would removing the diecast maybe drop the prices? Because right now, the prices I'm seeing are making me picture a lot of shelf warming of the stuff until it goes on clearance.
Heck, my local TRU has Legacy Sabas, movie White Ranger Morphers, Tigerzords, AND black Megazords all collecting dust on the shelves right now. |
I just wish they'd make Legacy Zords out of mostly plastic. All the metal on Dragonzord and how it weighs down the Megazord... makes it unfortunately a pass for me. A difficult one, but still a pass. :/
|
One would think TRU or other retailers will have something to say about the pricing if it's gonna clog shelves
I mean Hasbro jacked up prices and reduced complexity on their figures just to stay on shelves, and they move more volume than legacy shit Eventually BoA will have to come down or walk away |
Read the answers that Bandai gave and here what I think
Talon Ranger might be a con event figure in the future don't think they will release it with dino charge Legendary Rangers don't think it gonna happen there is just to many figures to release from dino charge core 5, dino drive, extra rangers, and villians This question got me really angry " stating they don’t really know if there’s any plan or idea to bring them over" REALLY Bandai now is the time to bring the Kyoryuger Figuarts over while Dino Charge is airing not when the show over. I feel Bandai out right lie about plans cause in the past they did the same thing with Gokaiger and Ninniger figuarts never happen ugh |
Updates.
- Legacy Thunder Megazord individual zords WILL combine to form the Attack Sled - Legacy Falconzord will be price pointed at $59.99 and not $79.99 as listed in Toys'R'Us computers |
Okay, I might $60 like the Falconzord.
|
It's a little better, but $60 is still like a full size megazord, so there still has to be something special...

I wonder if the Thunder Megazord could be cheaper too. I doubt it though. |

$60 is still too much for Falconzord considering how crap it looks. Somebody pointed it out earlier on Twitter, but you can actually get the original on Ebay for like $30.
|
obviously $60 is better than $80
wonder what the discrepancy was, just TRU fucking up? |

If a price isn't given at the time that the information hits the company computers, the system itself may assign a price to the item (so that the listing doesn't show up on any error reports) and will base the price on the last assortment. In this case, it would have been the Tigerzord and the Dragon Dagger, both priced at $79.99. The Legacy Black and Gold Megazord is under a different category (so to speak) because it's billed as an "exclusive" where as the Legacy line is a "line exclusive", not an "item exclusive" ... it gets really confusing the more you look at it. The other way? Bandai wasn't sure on the price at the time and gave it the $80 listing when the information was distributed. |
I'm beyond excited to see what Bandai has in-store for us. Being that the Thunder Megazord and the Falconzord have not released yet, I've been hearing that they have been fluctuating in price a little bit; which is always a good thing! But until they've officially hit the shelves, that's when we'll know for sure. Even though Bandai has focused on MMPR for the past 3 years now, once it's time to venture off into other seasons, I know that they'll top of the OG season with a bang of some sortl I'm sure!
Other than that, I can't wait to purchase the upcoming Legacy items! :) |

Unless the Legacy one has enough diecast to mortally wound someone in self defense, I see no reason why it should be $60, paint over stickers will not justify that. And let's face it, the main reason people want it is because a Legacy Falconzord release implies that Legacy Shogun and Ninja Megazords are on the way. Hell I don't even think the Legacy Tigerzord is worth $60. |

Isn't stuff on show floors like this supposed to be hyped up and look better than the mass release version? |

And with much, MUCH less Diecast bringing the price down further.

BTW, I paid full price for the Tigerzord and it was worth every cent to me. A nice show accurate Won Tiger with all sculpting and paint and no stickers. No stupid electronics to take away from its aesthetic. It is the definitive toy for him. Quote:

Oh you're happy with Legacy Tigerzord full priced? That's great man, I'm really happy for you, in fact I'm so happy that I'll be even happier if you footed the cost of the Legacy Falconzord for those of us that don't want to pay full price(most of us). Let us enjoy this so called bland yet "show accurate", toy you so want to defend. I would rather post constructive criticism now in hopes that BoA addresses issues by final production rather than blindly accept anything they put out just because. A legacy line should not look like something you can get from a kids meal at Burger King with $50+ added to the cost. And a Legacy item ought to look better than the original. Instead it's backwards, the original looks better than the Legacy Falconzord. |
Huh? I didn't say the toy wasn't bland, I was saying the show doesn't have it looking all shiny. To be honest, there are no high quality up close photos of the Falconzord, just ones from a distance due to the glass case.
