Huh, I was expecting the Yellow Ranger to be black, but then again this isn't MMPR season 2 so we can't exactly expect anything to go like it did on the show. Especially with how this guy doesn't look particularly "nerdy" either.

Can't wait to see the character summaries.

My reaction is the same with all the others positively optimistic. I'm not sure if they are going to be the same Mighty Morphin Power Rangers though.

Some fans on Facebook that I see are mad that they cast a African American as Billy. I don't care as long if he pulls of the role.

For gods sake we don't even know for a fact that they're playing straight up MMPR characters. And even if they were? I have no idea why these idiots are getting all bent all out of shape over the castings. That attitude is totally at odds with the inclusive spirit of the franchise. Those people aren't fans. They're idiots.

I do agree. I wish people would wait until we get footage like a trailer before people can bitch about the film. It's still way too early to make any judgements on the movie, but some fanboys like to jump the gun.

I'm really happy with the casting so far. We don't know anything about how they'll be yet, but there's reason to remain optimistic.

This guy doesn't look like a blue ranger at all. He doesn't even look like any ranger color. I hope yellow will be someone that fits the color.

This is pretty much the dumbest thing I have heard a fan say in regards to casting for this movie. Please explain what a blue ranger should like or any other ranger.

Blue rangers have that nerdy vibe to them. Each color has their own stereotypical personality vibe to them. This guy looks kind of plain. I guess if he had some Billy-style glasses he would work.

Zeo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, SPD, Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, RPM, Samurai, and Dino Charge beg to differ on your blue being the nerd notion.

I'm aware not all blues have a nerdy personality, but this movie is probably going to be an MMPR reboot, so it should at least be close to Billy. I'm just sharing what I thought, it's not a big deal.

This movie and the casting seems to be interesting enough so far, from what little we know. A little confusing with the back-and-forth in regards to the nature of the plot, though. I remain optimistic.

Also, this guy is awesome - can't wait to see him on screen. Not going to lie, when I first saw the picture I thought "...Jaleel White?" (you know, Urkel)
